Shame on you, moderators over at Dick.

Honestly, shame on all the moderators across this entire forum.

Let’s be real here: nobody actually cares whether you were present or not. These are people you allow to post freely on both this forum and Dick, which means they fall under your responsibility.👍

What was written here is pretty risky; they’re definitely playing with fire.

But why are you being so hard on Dike? Why the intense thirst for justice on this specific subforum? This place is packed with different groups and endless threads—errors are bound to slip through the cracks in a chaotic mess like this. Most of what happens here is just lighthearted banter, no offense intended, but it isn't a high-level academic forum like Philosophy or Psychology where everything needs to be taken so personally. Why has this whole moderation issue started weighing on you so much lately, Mystery?

Glorifying Nazism, Hitler, or any form of sexual, nationalistic, or religious hatred is an incredibly serious matter. It’s dangerous, plain and simple—whether we're talking about discussions on Dike, political discourse, philosophical debates, or even over at Lees.

In the United States, this kind of rhetoric wouldn't be tolerated anywhere. So, why should any subreddit be an exception when it comes to statements that aim to celebrate hate, murder, torture, harassment, concentration camps, or mass killings? Do I really need to provide an illustration for how vile that is?

Or do you honestly believe I'm wrong? Do you think there should be "gray areas" where civilizational norms and rules just don't apply because the topics being discussed aren't considered "serious"?

To be perfectly honest, I can't imagine a single subreddit where this is permitted, nor can I picture a moderator who would tolerate it. I spend a lot of time on various subreddits, and as a person, I find these primitive, uncivilized statements deeply offensive. This isn't about having a "difference of opinion," which everyone is entitled to; this is about the most fundamental evil known to humanity. It is truly tragic that people fail to see that, and it's even more disheartening that I have to explain it to you.

Maybe that post should stay up, maybe not. I don't have the full context and it doesn't really affect me.

But this appeal shouldn't be granted. Even if the post was flagged, it hasn't even been 24 hours yet. According to the rules here, you can only file an appeal regarding a lack of moderator action after waiting a full 24 hours following the initial report. You report it, wait a day to see if anyone steps in, and only then can you complain about inaction.

Given your post count and how long you've been registered, I'd assume you know how this works.🤔

Look, he isn’t exactly putting Hitler on a pedestal; he just feels an affinity for him. To me, loving someone and glorifying them are two very different things. At the end of the day, I believe people should have the freedom to feel how they feel about whoever they choose.

E: Honestly, this is enough to warrant a permanent ban. 🙂

Please forgive me for being so shaken by this statement that I rushed to report the post and open this appeal. As a human being, I was deeply unsettled by the freedom allowed to write things that essentially glorify Hitler, the Nazis, and the murder of millions of people across the country. I know I didn't strictly follow the standard reporting procedure, and for that, I apologize.

At the same time, I want to apologize on behalf of my fellow humans for hitting that report button even though the post wasn't directed at me personally. But perhaps I’m still sane enough to believe in standing up against such rhetoric and fighting for humanity?

What else can I say? Just remember that Hitler didn't pick and choose which nations to suffer in those gas chambers. If that isn't a sufficient criterion for you to judge the gravity of such a statement, then what is? 👍

Keep hitting him on the shoulder, you're doing a great job. 👍

Richard Sanders7 said:The guy isn't glorifying Hitler; he just loves him. Loving someone and glorifying them are two completely different things. Shouldn't a person have the right to love whoever they choose?

E: But this is definitely grounds for a permanent ban. 🙂

Look, some things just aren't funny.
Given your age, shouldn't you know better than to try and trivialize or water down every attempt to set boundaries on what simply isn't considered acceptable behavior?
It's the same way we react to misogyny or pedophilia. There are certain statements that simply cannot be tolerated in a civilized, normal society.

Any blatant glorification of that stuff isn't going to fly without consequences, believe me. But why are you so preoccupied with how the mods will react to other people's posts if they haven't actually handed you a ban? It seems like you're just bitter toward DiK and desperate to see ball and Wackyja ousted, but I don't get why this specific topic weighs on you so heavily. Sure, maybe your personality and theirs just don't mesh, but we all deal with that on certain subforums. You just learn to watch what you say and don't post every single unfiltered thought that crosses your mind. What’s the big deal?

You've really been on a tear for the last eight or nine months, Misterium. First, it was questioning the moderation over in the Off-topic section, and now you're trying to start a coup in DiK. What's the goal here? You aren't going to force your version of perfect justice on a forum with tens of thousands of users. As long as you aren't triggering any red flags, you don't have to worry about getting banned. And as for other people and their views or ideologies—why does that even matter to you? Also, let's not play the martyr for your guy; he earned his stripes by taking his own risks.

You know I've always been a gentleman and tried to accommodate your attitude and temperament, but this crusade for "justice" regarding the mods is just pointless philosophizing. Honestly, it's getting tedious, and this time, I can't stick up for you.

Tabasco, do you actually stand behind this statement?

Is it a yes or a no?

Let’s leave me out of this entirely. I don't want a deep dive into my psyche or some free analysis of my personality—my motives are completely irrelevant here. We are strictly discussing this specific claim. So, let me ask: Is this really the kind of content you want seeing on this forum?

That is the heart of the issue. As a human being, seeing statements like this—and watching people turn a blind eye to them—is deeply offensive. And I say that with good reason.

I would be just as livid if someone walked in here and declared their admiration for pedophiles, rapists, or mass murderers. How much worse is it when someone writes that they "love Nazis and Hitler"? To me, these kinds of comments are an insult to the intellect, to the spirit, and to our basic humanity. If I am angry, it is because these views are tolerated. They are swept under the rug, minimized, or treated like some sick joke. When we allow this, we essentially give wings to people like that. We send an indirect message that it's all fine, that it's just "part of the conversation." Then, you get certain smart alecks—people like you—who can't wrap their heads around it. You try to dismiss all this valid frustration as mere personal bias or boredom, simply because you fail to realize that some people look at the world with much more gravity and depth.

Yes, my "personal motives" exist precisely because these types of statements and characters are allowed to persist. They offend my humanity, and the humanity of every single person who ended up under a blade in that damn war. If you can't grasp that, then there is no other way I can explain it to you. I truly cannot.

If someone respects Hitler's discipline and work ethic, I don't have an issue with that. But if they support slaughtering anything that isn't Aryan, then I’m going to oppose them to the fullest. I guess A Ball and Wacky will decide what Phinkal actually meant by this. Personally, I wouldn't dare go so far as to say I love or dream about Hitler.

For example, if I were to say that Ante Pavelić was a good husband and father, yet also fascist garbage, what would you say? Would you claim I support him or not?

That's enough.

Now, just imagine if this post had been reported by someone else—someone whose motives you weren't already questioning—instead of Jamie Bishop29.

It’s easy enough to fall for someone because of their best qualities, but the real challenge—and I think the true mark of character—is finding room in your heart for people who have significant flaws. It's a bit like how some people find themselves drawn to figures like Hitler and his followers despite all their massive shortcomings; instead of being met with understanding, they often just end up getting reported. 🤦 If we look at it from a spiritual perspective, Jesus taught us to love everyone unconditionally, which would theoretically include even someone like Hitler. So, if that's the standard, why shouldn't an individual be allowed to feel that kind of affection?

I don't quite grasp why you're so obsessed with foreign wars and other people's struggles🤔 One minute you're fixating on the American Civil War, and the next you're attacking Hitler as if it just happened yesterday. It’s hard to know where you actually stand when you pivot between such sensitive topics.

What is your deal?

E: also, Ball and Wacky are, in my opinion, excellent moderators. They stay active and handle things perfectly. I received some warnings from Ball last night that I fully deserved, so I have no reason to complain. 🤷

It feels like we're walking on eggshells trying to show special sympathy for victims.

Seriously, what is your problem?

Is it really that hard to understand?

I wasn't picking on the American Civil War; I was reacting to Nazism, fascism, and extremist ideologies—just as much as I would react to any other radical group.

Is it truly such an unusual thing for someone to react to posts like these today? Is it so strange to insist that freedom of speech doesn't mean you have a free pass to discriminate, spread hate, or glorify crimes?

Would it be easier to grasp if I used the example of pedophilia?

Do you really think people should be allowed to write whatever they want about pedophiles and pretend it's perfectly normal?

I haven't seen posts like these anywhere else except on Dick.

Discrimination is banned everywhere—on Hazel, History, Politics, Zud, Music... it's banned everywhere except on Dick.

It’s honestly quite disheartening that this isn't clear to you at your age.

Jamie Bishop29 said:I don't see what isn't clear.

I wasn't jumping to the American Civil War; I was reacting to Nazism, fascism, and similar ideologies, just as I would react to any other extremist movement.

Is it really that unusual that someone still reacts to such posts by pointing out that free speech doesn't include discrimination, hate, or glorifying atrocities?

Maybe the concept would be easier to grasp if we used pedophilia as an example?

Do you honestly believe people should be allowed to post about how much they love pedophiles and pretend it's normal?

I haven't seen posts like this anywhere except on Dick's page.

Discrimination is banned everywhere else—on Hazel, history, politics, Zud, music... everywhere, except on Dick's.

It is disappointing that this isn't obvious to you at your age.

Don't try to overcompensate; you're clearly lacking both arguments and perspective. Where did this pedophilia comparison come from? Who even mentioned that? It is concerning that you're getting this worked up over nothing. You might want to try using a sarcasm detector once in a while.

No one is glorifying Hitler, nor fascism, nor any other extremist group. The issue arises when you take offense at American patriotic symbols or the celebration of a legitimate victory that liberated our country from occupation. "Occupation." People died for this. I shouldn't have to censor my words just to avoid hurting some sensitive soul.

Just calm down. Your behavior has been quite erratic lately.

Richard Sanders7 said:It’s easy to love someone just for their good qualities, but you really have to be a big shot to find room in your heart for people with massive flaws. I mean, some people still idolize Hitler and the Nazis despite everything, yet instead of getting credit for that "tolerance," they get reported. 🤦 If Jesus were here, he’d probably love Hitler just as much as anyone else. So why shouldn't this guy be allowed to love him?

Even if Hico repented, he'd probably end up forgiven for all his evil deeds and land straight in paradise, right?🤦

I guess that only works if you view life through a strictly religious lens?🤔 You do something horrific, repent, and suddenly everything is wiped clean—but nobody seems to care about the victims or how they feel about it.

As for those who actually admire criminals, there’s not much we can do about it. That’s just down to individual choice and how a person chooses to see the world.

Just don't forget, Hico wasn't the only villain out there; there were plenty on the winning side too. Yet, even today, you still see people glorifying those other criminals.

My take is pretty simple: a crime is a crime, and a victim is a victim. There's no need to start playing favorites or changing the rules based on which side of the line someone was standing on.😲

Sure, maybe it’s more "normal" to just bounce from one thread to another, venting about a potential divorce, because that’s clearly the rational, mature way to handle things—rather than tackling deep issues that actually affect humanity and the society we live in. I suppose people who find this bothersome simply don't have anything better to do with their time...

I’m posting this because I am genuinely shocked by how much common sense and rational reasoning is lacking in adults these days.

northernmaker7, would you be okay with some guy coming in here and bragging about how much he admires men who slap their wives across the face, claiming women don't deserve any better?

Do you even grasp the underlying subtext of these posts and what they're really hiding?

I’m asking you: do you think these kinds of comments should be supported, brushed off, or dismissed as mere "humor" and jokes? Or should there be a line drawn in the sand that says enough is enough? Where do we draw that line?

In that scenario, I wouldn't even comment. You’re such a prominent figure on Reddit, and watching your evolution toward taking down the moderators is actually quite entertaining; I see analyzing your case as a bit of an attraction. This isn't just about the comment regarding Hitler; it's clearly tied to your desire to unseat ball and slypuma12 from their positions by using examples like this to validate your stance against them. Phinkal's statement was pretty vague; personally, I wouldn't have phrased it that way for fear of getting banned, but looking at it from a moderator's perspective, I'm not sure if it warrants a sanction since it's so general.

To put it simply, if I weren't interested in your psychological profile and the path you're taking here on the site, I wouldn't bother commenting at all. Besides, I'd probably leave ball and slypuma12 alone. Not many people would want to deal with the nightmare of managing that mountain of threads and usernames, yet they seem to handle it well enough.
