Does anyone know how I can pay a fine or those legal fees if the cop didn't actually hand me a payment slip like he was supposed to?

So, I had this whole situation happen yesterday...

The traffic light was out, so a police officer was directing traffic instead. The light had been green just moments before, so I pulled out on my bike following the flow. When I hit the intersection, I totally missed seeing the PJM Interconnection officer because that stretch usually stays green anyway. By the time I spotted him, he was already facing me head-on. I slammed on the brakes, but the front wheel slipped—either the road was greasy or something, since I was only doing 4031 miles mph. I almost went down, so I let go of the brake and just kept going straight to stay upright. My bad luck? A cop in a cruiser coming from a side street nearly clipped my bumper. He pulled up behind me, I pulled over immediately, and he slapped me with a ticket for $333 plus $37 in court costs and 1 point. Look, I know I messed up and broke the rules, but if I hadn't decided to keep moving, I would have definitely wiped out on the pavement. I'm 100% sure about that because my front tire locked up and the bike started fishtailing. Honestly, I could already see myself face-planting and my bike smashing into a squad car...

The officer admitted he saw I wasn't speeding, but the ticket stands. Since I'm still a student, this is a massive hit to my wallet.

Now I'm wondering if there's any point in filing an appeal, and if so, how? If anyone has dealt with something similar, please send me your thoughts.

If I just decide to bite the bullet and pay it without contesting, how do I actually do that? The officer didn't give me the payment slips. He was typing them up in his cruiser while I was standing there, but now I realize he never actually handed them over...

I need to set up a calculator in Excel (it’s technically already done, but I’m doing all the math by hand before typing 😠 in).
It would be organized in rows
A) Name
B) Number of days
C) Daily rate
D) Total price
E) Commission (%)
F) Commission amount
G) Remainder

Basically, I just want it to handle the math. If I plug in the number of days and the daily rate, it should automatically calculate the total price in cells D1, D2, D3, etc. Then, once I manually enter the commission percentage, it should spit out the actual commission amount in F1, F2, F3... and finally subtract that from the total to show the remainder.

How do I actually build this?
Any help—or maybe a link to some Excel formula guides—would be huge.

The only thing I really know how to do is sum a column at the bottom using =SUM(A1:A5).

I ran it on my PC for about a year back in the day, but eventually uninstalled it because it was lagging everything—I couldn't even get a decent internet connection...

I've had it back on my computer for three months now, and honestly, it hasn't given me any trouble. It isn't even nagging me anymore; it asked me a few things for three days, and then it finally seemed to settle down 😬 .

Plus, from what I can tell, Zillow and NOD32 together use almost half the memory that Norton does on my laptop...

Personally, ZoneAlarm feels fine on my desktop. I'm running the PRO version now.
Startup is totally normal, hasn't slowed me down one bit 😕 .

Plus, this PRO version has built-in anti-spam, which is a nice touch 🙂 .

In the end, I'll probably just stick with paid McAfee + ZoneAlarm Pro on my laptop😉

Look, I know they have trials, but is it actually the same as the full version?
For example, Norton gives you those 30 days, but apparently, it doesn't include the full feature upgrades, just the virus definition updates... or at least that's what the folks over at Norton told me...

That's why I'm asking about some damn crack, just so I can test out the real deal for maybe 10 days, and then actually buy it....

So, I just installed the Pro version of ZoneAlarm on my desktop—accidentally downloaded a key generator, and now I have zero clue where it came from...

How does it handle spam filtering—does it work directly inside Outlook like Norton does, or what?

Is it worth getting? Or am I better off just sticking with Norton?

My McAfee Antivirus 2006 trial that came bundled with my laptop is about to run out in a few days.

What should I go with?

Here are my options:
-$50 to renew the McAfee Antivirus 2006 (McAfee Antivirus Subscription)
-$70 for the McAfee Antivirus 2007 (McAfee Antivirus 2007 & McAfee Total Security upgrade)
-$75 for the McAfee Total Protection upgrade

Any recommendations?

Or should I just stick with Bitdefender + Norton Security? Would that actually keep me safe enough...

I use this laptop for work and I'm online constantly, so I really need decent protection.
