Best antivirus for a laptop that's online 18 hours a day?

My McAfee Antivirus 2006 trial that came bundled with my laptop is about to run out in a few days.

What should I go with?

Here are my options:
-$50 to renew the McAfee Antivirus 2006 (McAfee Antivirus Subscription)
-$70 for the McAfee Antivirus 2007 (McAfee Antivirus 2007 & McAfee Total Security upgrade)
-$75 for the McAfee Total Protection upgrade

Any recommendations?

Or should I just stick with Bitdefender + Norton Security? Would that actually keep me safe enough...

I use this laptop for work and I'm online constantly, so I really need decent protection.

But look—I’m just speaking from my own personal experience.
I’ve been running Bitdefender + Norton Security for at least a year and a half now, and I haven't run into a single issue...
And I visit pretty much everything under the sun—from sites with cracks to various patches and whatnot. Believe me, if you don't pick up a virus, some spyware, or something similar there, you aren't going to find them anywhere else...😁

I’m running NOD plus ZoneAlarm on my desktop right now. It does the job, I guess, but I can't help wondering if there's actually anything better out there...
One annoying thing is that NOD doesn't have built-in anti-spam, which would be a huge plus...

How does it handle spam filtering—does it work directly inside Outlook like Norton does, or what?

Is it worth getting? Or am I better off just sticking with Norton?

As for NOD32, I can't say much, but regarding firewalls—I've been relying on Sygate Personal Firewall for about two years now, and honestly, everything has been running smoothly. If you're looking for something else, a lot of people swear by ZoneAlarm, so maybe give that a shot instead.

Just use Gmail and you won't have any issues, everything's already integrated. 👍

The thing is, it automatically shoves spam into a separate folder, so you don't even need some extra software to filter stuff out 😁

If I buy a license for one computer, could I use it on both my desktop and my laptop? That way I could just wipe that trial version off the laptop if it turns out to be lacking...

I get that, but I’m pulling from three different work servers, so I still end up catching random junk I definitely don't want seeing my inbox (like those Viagra ads...😲 )....😉

Kaspersky + Kerio Firewall

In my experience, ZoneAlarm (both the standard and Pro versions) is just tedious garbage; it fails to filter ads properly and ends up blocking things it shouldn't.
Kerio hasn't given me a single headache—it just works perfectly for a handful of bucks.

As for Kaspersky, it’s in a league of its kind. It's practically flawless, aside from that annoying sound it makes whenever it flags a virus. 😬

Go with this setup, and I'll jump off a bridge if you run into any issues.

EDIT: I almost forgot about the ZoneAlarm startup process—it freezes my PC for a good 30 seconds, whereas Kerio loads way faster. And Kaspersky? Absolute gold.

Maybe the most important thing though... they're all pretty easy to crack. 😁

Look, I know they have trials, but is it actually the same as the full version?
For example, Norton gives you those 30 days, but apparently, it doesn't include the full feature upgrades, just the virus definition updates... or at least that's what the folks over at Norton told me...

That's why I'm asking about some damn crack, just so I can test out the real deal for maybe 10 days, and then actually buy it....
