But how exactly are they going to verify that I'm running my virtual machine on Microsoft Windows???

Well, we mostly run a computer repair service—so, nothing too crazy there. 🙂

Our current plan—at least until we've saved up enough capital to cover the licensing fees—is to stick with Linux and just run a Windows 7 virtual machine on top of it. 🙂

We’re actually setting that up today; we want to make sure that if an inspector happens to drop by, they see a single, streamlined Linux setup rather than two separate operating systems. Plus, it keeps things free. 🙂
So, if everyone just switched over to Linux, then nobody would have anything to complain about anymore, right?

Also, just one more thing—what happens if I'm using a free operating system, like Linux?

Fair enough—but does anyone actually know how much the fine is?
Hey everyone!

I have a question for the group—does anyone here know what kind of fines we're looking at if a company uses unlicensed software? Specifically, I mean using cracked versions of Windows and other programs.

Also, is there perhaps some kind of utility where, if an inspector walks into the office, you could just hit a key and make the computer impossible to turn on—or maybe prevent it from booting into Windows entirely?🙂
So, I actually went ahead and asked my professor about it—and he told me it doesn't really matter where I source the thesis from, as long as I meet the specific requirements:

Basically, I can't just scrape something together from my current university to pass, and it needs to be roughly 50 pages long. But still, I'm just asking for some guidance on where I should even start looking...
It doesn't really matter if the thesis is finished—I can always go back in and swap out some details or update a few links myself to get it where it needs to be. I just need to pull this together on my own, but please, I'm asking you all to move a little faster 😁

because my deadline is June 20th 🙂
Thanks, man—but there’s one massive hurdle here. Translating this into American English is going to be incredibly tough, especially since I’m looking at writing roughly 50 pages of content 😉

I could really use some help with this
If there isn't any way to get some help free of charge, I’m more than willing to pay for it
True, but my professor actually suggested I pick up a course from another campus—and since I’m based over at the satellite campus in Santa Barbara, it’s a bit of a trek to get to the main university grounds...

If anyone could please drop some helpful links here, I'd really appreciate it.
Hi everyone, I was wondering if I could ask for a huge favor...

I’m looking for some help tracking down links to senior theses or research papers focused on marine propulsion automation...

Thanks in advance! 😉
