I believe this is the

DVI Output : Yes x 1 (Native) (DVI-D)
HDMI Output : Yes x 1 (Native) (HDMI 2.0b)
Display Port : Yes x 1 (DisplayPort 1.4)
HDCP Support : Yes (2.2)

Thanks for the offer and thanks to everyone for all the replies—in the end, I decided to grab an RX580 through eBay just so I could have some peace of mind, and everything is working perfectly now 🙂

wiredotter14 said:A 50Hz refresh rate is perfectly fine—even for gaming, honestly. You aren't going to notice a massive difference compared to 60Hz.

Regarding the signal itself, I don't think you can bypass those limitations using a passive adapter.
Essentially, that kind of adapter just changes the physical connection type. The graphics card detects the change and then pushes an HDMI signal through the DP cable, but it won't magically upgrade the actual HDMI standard supported by the hardware.

That said, you should be able to run 4K natively via HDMI at 30Hz, which is still plenty smooth enough for audio editing—and even video editing, considering most footage, especially 4K, is shot at 24 or 30fps anyway.

Thanks for getting back to me. In that case, would something like this work better for achieving 50 Hz? https://www.amazon.com/adapter-delo...black-200300317

Greetings,

I am considering picking up a 4K TV to serve as my PC monitor, but I am currently working with an older AMD Radeon R7 250 card:

https://www.msi.com/Graphics-card/R7.../Specification

The specs indicate that 4K @50Hz is supported, though apparently only via a DisplayPort connection. Given that the vast majority of TVs rely on HDMI, would it be feasible to run 4K at 50Hz using some sort of DisplayPort to HDMI adapter—for instance, something like this: Additionally, would a 50Hz refresh rate be sufficient for standard daily tasks? My work is primarily in audio production, so I won't be doing any heavy gaming. Thank you!

Thanks, redpanther9!

Just two quick follow-ups:

- Can I just print out the forms and fill them out myself, or am I actually required to show up at the IRS or The New York Times to deal with them in person?

- Also, if you happen to be in New York City too, do you by any chance know the IBAN for the payment?

redpanther9 said:Any local branch will work.

- So, business registration just involves handing in the forms... and that's it?

Yes. Same deal—just go to your local branch.

- Do I pay the tax via a traditional check/money order, or can I use online banking? And do I need to attach proof of payment to the JOPPD?

Online banking is fine; no need to attach proof. Once you submit the JOPPD, an agent checks when the payment clears and sends you an email confirming whether the filing was accepted or rejected.

- Is there a sample of a completed JOPPD form specifically for foreign royalties?

Yes. Here, you'll find several PDF examples at the end.

I assume you're aware that these calculations change after January 1st.

I've skimmed through some info on that, though nothing in depth—is there a specific article that dives into the details of this?

Will the actual procedure stay the same, with only the math changing?

Tnx! 🙂

Hey everyone,

I don't want to clutter things up by starting a whole new thread, but I have a few quick beginner questions regarding paying taxes on freelance royalties:

I just received my first royalty payment from an overseas client, and if I understand the rules correctly, I have an 8-day window to pay the tax (using the Federal Reserve exchange rate—in my case, the fee was in USD), submit my JOPPD form, and complete my business registration.

So, here is what I am wondering about:

- Can this be handled in smaller increments? I'm currently in Brooklyn and the local office is right here, so I wasn't sure if I actually need to trek all the way to the main headquarters in Manhattan or if the local branch suffices?
- Is the business registration process really just a matter of submitting the RPO forms... and that's it?
- Should I pay the tax via a traditional check/money order, or can I just use online banking? Also, do I need to attach a receipt or confirmation to the completed JOPPD?
- Does anyone happen to have a sample of a filled-out JOPPD form specifically for international freelance royalties?

Thanks! 🙂
Greetings,

Does anyone happen to know what the typical cost is for a lipoma removal procedure if I don't have supplemental insurance? It's just a straightforward outpatient thing.
