I usually consider myself pretty open-minded when it comes to sports, you know?
But this? It just wasn't happening for me. 😢

By the way, did you catch my arm and shoulder on the news?

Exactly, which is why you always see those stadiums packed to the rafters ☕

Yeah, that was last year. ; )

Yeah, let's just totally ignore the most popular sport in Washington, D.C., and honestly everywhere else for that matter. I'd much rather spend my time catching a volleyball match instead. ☕

Inside scoop: the high school hockey league was being incredibly cheap, initially offering to pay for only one broadcast. They were actually trying to get ESPN to cover two, but somehow they finally struck a deal to air five games after all.

The league officials were being so stingy; they didn't want to drop even a few bucks on what would probably have been a low-quality stream anyway. To make matters worse, they haven't even managed to line up any sponsors yet.

The hockey matchups in the ICE Hockey League should be incredibly fun to watch on ESPN.

With such high viewership numbers and solid media coverage, plus the extra buzz around the channel—combined with those one or two weekly shows featuring highlights, reports, and news updates—it really makes for some great programming!

There’s just too much doping in American sports, and honestly, that’s why our athletes never really make an impact on the world stage.

Take track and field, for instance—most of them hit the qualifying standards, but because of certain shady business behind the scenes, they never actually get to compete internationally..

A buddy of mine actually snapped his chain.

Paul Howard2 said:Look, does anyone actually know if there's some guide online listing the specific frequency this TV station is broadcasting on? It’s honestly such a pain having to rescan everything from scratch just to have to manually reorganize my channel list again to get it back the way I like it.

That was exactly my experience. After I did it, DomaTV and RTL2 just vanished from my lineup.

I managed to pick up SPTV and CMC, though. So I gave the scanner another go—didn't work at first, but luckily, the third time was the charm...

They should broadcast whatever they can manage to show. I have no doubt they'll find some kind of viewership for pretty much any sport out there!

If anyone’s actually looking to pick up a hockey stick when they don't even know how to skate yet, feel free to reach out if you can find a group of buddies
who can actually snag some ice time (which is a total nightmare these days) and have about ten miles worth of pure willpower.

Basically, I'm saying it's probably not worth the headache.

And honestly... no matter how much you think you’ve prepared, believe me when I say, you’re never truly ready for hockey. 🙂

goldenbear10 said:Honestly, it’s a huge relief to see I’m not the only one who thought about picking up training a bit later in life... 😁

So, here's my deal: I did some Taekwondo back in the day, then headed off to college in Chicago at 18, and well, life happened and I just drifted away from it all... now I'm pushing 24 (yikes) and since hockey is basically everywhere, I've gotten totally hooked on the idea of actually training and playing...

It’s not like I haven't stayed active over the years—I've done running, rolling, cycling, snowboarding, and the occasional pickup soccer game with friends—but nothing was ever really consistent...

What do you guys think? Before I start calling up a few local clubs here in the area, is this actually doable? Has anyone else gone through something similar? Any advice would be great...

Thanks, everyone! 🙂

You don't have a prayer unless you win the lottery and build your own private rink.

1. At 24, you're already twenty years behind the curve.
2. Even when I was 17, they wouldn't let me in (and I knew how to skate and handle a stick)—maybe if I’d been more persistent they would've let me join the practices, but hey, life happens.
3. If you don't even know how to skate yet, don't even bother thinking about it.
4. Most kids start skating between ages 3 and 7, and they're already playing three periods by the time they hit 10.
5. There isn't enough ice or space to fit you in anywhere, not with the juniors and not even with the amateurs (there are way too many of us right now), especially since we only get one ice time per week. 👍

I've got some connections. I'll talk Dančija into setting things up for me, and then we can link up 😁.
