Anytime. 🙂 I'm glad you managed to get it sorted. 🎉 I'm not sure what the situation is with your father-in-law, but my mother can barely eat a single bite without Megestrol, whereas with it, she's doing quite well. 🙂
Amanda Miller69 said:I'm not entirely sure what all he received yet. We're heading out there this weekend, so I'll take a look at what the report actually says once we're back.

He’s going to need Megestrol too, but it seems to be nowhere to be found. They’re claiming there's a shortage in the market. Is it always like this?

Zachary Howard2, I have no idea where you guys are located or what's convenient for you, but we managed to track some down in Dug Sela for my mother, just a day or so after we spent half the day scouring the area around the city.

I am looking for a reliable endocrinologist—specifically for thyroid screenings and checking my FT4 FT3 levels, among other things.
Private appointments only,
and I would appreciate recommendations for either the Mayo Clinic or VV.

Has anyone here ever seen Prof. Dr. Sc. Ivana Pavlic-renar?
Thanks.

If you aren't in a rush, go to Dr. Kristijan Peroš at VV. You'll have to wait a few months to get in, but is he worth it? Absolutely.

He is currently on Xeloda and Avastin... could this be a side effect?

How is this even managed?

With my mother, the most significant side effect of chemo was exactly that—losing all feeling in her hands and feet. To deal with it, they prescribed her Neurontin and Neurobion. It takes some time before you start seeing results, but now she's just left with discomfort in the tips of two or three fingers.
The frustrating part is that those medications are typically intended for epilepsy or bipolar disorder, so to use them for anything else, you often have to get a private prescription. Back then, Neurontin was about $20- $10, while Neurobion was around $100-$120 for a pack of 100, so it wasn't exactly a crushing long-term expense...
As for the skin, we were applying Neutrogena to her hands a hundred times a day, which significantly reduced the peeling.

Amelia, could you give me a ballpark figure on what those cures might run me if I sent you a private message? 🙂

My partner and I absolutely love it. I'm originally from the Midwest but I live in Washington, D.C. now, so we're planning to have the wedding back in the Midwest. It’s way more affordable than doing anything here in D.C....
🙂🙂🙂

We once operated under the same assumption—that moving back to the Midwest would be the more cost-effective move. I’m originally from Washington, D.C., he’s from Nashville, and we currently find ourselves living in Vienna. However, once we actually sat down and put the numbers on paper, we realized how mistaken we were. The primary culprit? Our social circle. We constantly host guests traveling from all over the map—Washington, D.C., Orlando, Nashville, Seattle, plus plenty of folks visiting from Austria, Canada, Germany, and the Czech Republic. When you factor that in, the math simply doesn't hold up. 🤣 Honestly, given how much they were charging for accommodations, we figured it was just more practical to host the wedding in Washington, D.C. instead. Why deal with those inflated prices? 😲

We’re heading out there on May 17th to visit a friend of my mother's, so I'll follow up with you then. From what I've gathered, though, everyone seems absolutely thrilled with everything. My godmother actually attended a few weddings there herself, and her feedback was nothing but glowing. When we were originally scouting venues for a wedding in the Midwest, that specific hall was really the only one that caught our eye, both because of its location—the groom is from a small town near Chicago—and its overall aesthetic. 🙂I suspect someone from the Midwest might have a better handle on the local vibe, but all I know is that their calendar is filling up fast. If you're seriously considering booking them, you might want to move quickly. 🙂
