Look, if anyone needs the lowdown on this...

bakery mus is still charging the same price per kilo $22/kg. If you actually want to try them, just order a kilo of treats delivered straight to your door and pay their driver on arrival. 🙂

Just a heads up: they don't do those massive custom cakes for, say, 40 people. Their cake sizes are fixed.
Depending on how they slice it, you'll get either 12 thick slices (if they bother to mark them) or up to 18 thinner ones if they don't.

Now my wife’s got me second-guessing things... in reality, do they actually mark the slices or is it just a guessing game most of the time? 😬

Man, that's a lot of fine print. 🙂

Their website claims the North Wind is $83, but I have zero clue how many people actually use them. 🙂

So I just noticed you used Mouse pastries for your wedding—20 kg for $1,300? Man, that is an absolute steal. 🙂

Some girl on this thread mentioned she loved that they handled all the plates; they dropped them off and then swung back to pick them up three days later... was your experience the same? 😁

Also, how did you guys handle the tasting? Since they aren't exactly right around the corner, how did you make that work?
(I know, I'll just call them myself, but maybe my answer will help someone else too...) 😁

Has anyone here actually ordered wedding cakes or fancy desserts from Torte and Co.?

They’ve got this insane selection, but honestly, I don't even care if it qualifies as a "formal" wedding cake or just high-end dessert. 😁

I noticed Kašnar has been bragging a ton in the last few posts, but nobody is mentioning the actual price! That's huge info for any bride-to-be trying to plan. 🙂

Looking back through a few pages, I saw some praise for Mouse Bakery over near Columbus... is that the same place? 🤔

My guess is the price per pound is roughly $33/lb, and I'd probably budget for about 8 ounces per person.
Correct me if I'm wrong, or please just drop some recommendations. 😁

Future bride here, currently in the "roughly-estimating-my-budget" phase. 😁

Thanks in advance. 🙂

Not sure if this is the right spot, but since we’re talking sales tax... let's just roll with it. 🙂

We sell magazines, and it’s the same old story I see everywhere in business... we send over a proposal, the customer signs up for a yearly subscription, then we hit them with the invoice and ship the magazines out monthly all through next year.

Here’s my headache: because the sales tax rate is changing, and we haven't issued a formal prepayment invoice yet—just a standard bill showing a 10% tax rate—how messed up is that? Especially since most of the actual deliveries happen next year when the magazine tax rate jumps to 13%.

In a perfect world, wouldn't it be smarter to issue a prepayment invoice and then just offset that 10% every month when we bill for the actual delivery at the 13% rate? But what trips me up is that those big professional publishing houses I deal with just slap down a single invoice with 10% tax and call it a day... 😕

(I know you don't really "reverse" prepayment invoices anymore; you just settle it on the delivery invoice, but that was just easier to explain)
