Not them. There are far more reasons than just one. I've heard they treat interns absolutely terribly.
Forgive me if I’m posting this in the wrong sub. I just found out an old friend attempted suicide by taking 60 blood pressure pills. Now I’m left wondering—could she actually have died from that many? I’ve never heard of anything like this happening before. What do you all think? And how on earth am I supposed to act when I go to visit her at the hospital? I really, truly hope she pulls through.

If my family found out about my struggles, I honestly have no clue how they'd react. All they seem to notice is that I'm a bit standoffish, but they don't see—or even hear—the battles I'm fighting inside.
Thanks for the advice, man. It makes things feel a little less heavy knowing I'm not the only one.
Go see a doctor and get a referral. If you can afford it, find a private specialist outside of your small town. Look into psychology; you'll find plenty of people facing similar issues. Dealing with family might be rough at first, but if they truly care about you, they'll want to help. Just do whatever you feel is best for yourself. Good luck.
Honestly, you might want to sit down and talk to someone about this. A therapist, maybe? This doesn't strike me as simple introversion; it sounds more like social anxiety. You need to push past that just enough to actually ask for help. Reading your post, I get the sense you're overthinking everything. Don't let yourself spiral into total isolation. Force yourself—even if it’s just once in a while—into those uncomfortable situations outside your comfort zone. I'm telling you this because I've dealt with my own share of these struggles. You aren't alone in this. Just keep your chin up.
There was this one person who drove me absolutely insane—I felt completely stuck in their orbit. It got to the point where I started judging them for every single thing they did. I was constantly condemning and hating them in my head, even if I didn't say it out loud. Eventually, it all came crashing back down on me. I finally managed to distance myself, but not before I realized I was guilty of everything I had been criticizing them for. Now, I take a step back and reflect. Everything happens for a reason. Getting angry once is one thing, but letting those negative thoughts loop endlessly in your mind? That’s a different story entirely. Nobody is perfect, least of all us. 🙂

If they sense you’re soft—like you're just an open wound waiting to happen and take everything personally—they’re going to walk all over you. They won't give you the respect you deserve, and frankly, they'll just keep poking at you. Look, being a "nice guy" isn't always the move—you have to know how to hold your ground.
Spot on. Once people smell blood in the water—or realize someone is currently vulnerable—one person starts biting, and then everyone else jumps in.
"If they're busy biting someone else, they aren't biting me."
