Is there perhaps an oncologist among us who might be willing to review a set of test results? I am looking for a professional opinion and some actual guidance... because quite frankly, we feel completely helpless in all of this.
I also want to ask again regarding dietary recommendations for those battling esophageal cancer who are struggling with constant vomiting... what are you all finding works? I am just trying to get some ideas for something that might actually stay down in the stomach instead of being rejected immediately.😢
Angela Wright, I appreciate your kindness; you are truly dedicated and have been an immense help to all of us
. Unfortunately, I did manage to confirm that they are specifically looking for patients who haven't undergone any prior therapy 😢. Regardless, we will continue our search and keep digging... A HUGE THANK YOU TO YOU
.
So, ruggedfox11, are you saying that standard radiation therapy is available at other hospitals too? Is it only radiochirurgery where they charge those exorbitant fees? I honestly can't make sense of any of this—is this not chemotherapy? And does radiochirurgery essentially function as a surgical procedure? It feels like I need to spend an endless amount of time educating myself on all these technical terms just to understand what's happening.
Robin Diaz4, I appreciate you clearing that up for me. He’s using a Durogesic patch, though I'm not entirely sure of the exact dosage yet; I'll have to double-check. I’ve been asking all these questions on behalf of my sister's husband. The relief just wasn't there last night—it barely provided any comfort from 8:00 PM until maybe three in the morning. Perhaps that patch releases the medication more gradually, meaning the effects aren't immediate. So, I take it they simply titrate the dose upward until it reaches the necessary level? Also, we really need to track down an anesthesiologist or a specialist who can make house calls. I'm wondering if patients have a legal right to request a nurse to administer an IV at home, considering he's been vomiting for quite some time now and has become significantly weakened.

We still have a backup plan involving laser removal

It’s going to work out well; I can feel it.

Exactly, well said!
Let the backup plans roll; we move forward regardless!
And you framed the question perfectly—whether there would even be anything left inside by February!

I spend my entire evening Googling, digging through data... just like everyone else on this forum. It's frustrating when you want to help but don't have the answers.
Does anyone here who has fought lymphoma know what actually worked during those intense pain flares? Are there cases where the patches were useless? Or even the pills? What are the next steps when those fail? I honestly assumed the patch was supposed to keep the pain under control.😢
Drew Brooks8 said:Hi everyone. I’ve been following these discussions for quite some time now, and while I'm not entirely certain if this will be useful to you, I would suggest inquiring about the cost of Radiochirurgia at this private facility. They handle a massive volume of international patients, so they clearly offer the service; I realize Skopje is a significant distance from you, but the price difference might actually justify the trip.

I appreciate the link regardless, Drew Brooks8.
ruggedfox11, I’m keeping my fingers crossed for you this Wednesday!

uh $14000...what can I even say? There is just too much to process. If only the system actually worked the way it should, we could just reach back into those massive piles of money we’ve been pouring into our Medicare premiums and actually use them when it matters.
Angela Wright, that link actually works, though I’m still struggling to grasp its actual purpose. Is it meant to show the volume of existing studies for a specific disease? I had to input pancreatic adenocarcinoma, but I can't quite make sense of why it’s throwing these specific results for that diagnosis; perhaps my English just isn't quite sharp enough to interpret the data... And regarding what you mentioned about trying to secure access to some kind of advanced medication—where exactly are we supposed to be looking for that? I honestly don't follow at all.😢
I completely agree with your sentiment that instead of pouring money into houses, apartments, or cars, we really ought to be setting aside funds from our very first day on the job just to ensure we have something to fall back on when illness strikes. Because once you actually get sick, the reality of the situation becomes painfully clear...😢
ruggedfox11, yeah, it’s obvious as day... it's all just about the money, isn't it?😢 It’s absolutely appalling; I don't even know where to start. This entire country is failing us. You can blame the people in power or the entire broken system for why we can't get our loved ones the treatment they need, but the reality remains: everything is fundamentally backwards and dysfunctional. It is completely unacceptable that once someone receives a diagnosis as devastating as cancer, they are met with nothing but endless waiting, bureaucratic committees, and pointless meetings. Just constant delays. They deny you access to more effective medications because of their rigid, nonsensical rules. It’s a nightmare. What does a human life actually mean to them? Why isn't the system designed so that the moment someone falls ill, they receive immediate therapy instead of being stuck in this loop?
ruggedfox11 said:I haven't sent the order message yet. Since they didn't bother replying to the email I sent two months ago, I decided to message them on Facebook today with the lab results attached, asking if they could give me a ballpark figure for the removal. Honestly, I'm just doing this for information; my doctor expects the tumor to retreat entirely on its own. His main concern is that the tumor is located on the bronchus rather than the lung tissue itself, and he's hesitant to touch it, so I want to have a Plan B ready with them and know roughly how much money we’ll need to set aside.

I understand completely... You absolutely need a Plan B. I really hope they provide at least an estimated price. Apparently, they refuse to give specific prognoses or cost breakdowns until a full workup is completed at their facility? It is frankly unprofessional that they ignored an email for that long; that isn't how a reputable clinic operates. Perhaps you should try calling them directly if you don't hear back through social media?
I am keeping my fingers crossed for you... Is your husband experiencing any pain? If you don't mind me asking, how long has it been since the initial diagnosis?
I sent over the test results the day before yesterday, and I just got the appointment date for the consultation today—they want me there in three weeks.
ruggedfox11, does that mean you should be hearing back within a few days too, assuming you already reached out about scheduling?
My God... the pricing. Their response regarding the cost was nothing more than: "Dear XXXX, the cost for pancreatic tumor Radiochirurgia is $29075. Best regards."
Thanks a lot, I'm well aware that everything is incredibly expensive right now 😢( We'll just have to wait and see... If I dig up anything useful, I'll let you know... I am certain there are more cases out there... they seem to be increasing every single day... an epidemic 😢
Kate Morgan66 said:I only had an abdominal ultrasound done at their facility, so I can't really offer much insight regarding specific pricing for the procedures you're looking into...$133 paid in cash

Thanks anyway! Any bit of information is helpful.
ruggedfox11 said:I just stumbled upon this:
https://www.facebook.com/clevelandclinic/

They might actually respond; I plan to send them a message a bit later, and I will update everyone if I learn anything new.

And this is what they sent me when I emailed them and called:

Thank you for your interest in our clinic.
We recommend scheduling a consultation; please bring all necessary documentation and ensure your spouse accompanies you to meet with our oncologist.

Appointments can be arranged as early as today.
Contact number: 01/4008050.

Sincerely,
Cleveland Clinic

Yes, I am convinced this is just their standard template response that everyone receives, much like we did, leaving us to wait indefinitely while praying to God.😢 Thank you so much for the articles, I saw that one!!!
Kate Morgan66 said:While I was there, I actually saw their chemotherapy department🤔

Nicholas Doyle91... would you mind sending me a private message with the costs?
Yeah, they likely handle chemo, but they won't touch it under any circumstances😢
ruggedfox11 said:We haven't been there ourselves, but we know they don't offer chemotherapy. As for the cost, I can only speculate, but an operation like that would run about $10,000 out there. Furthermore, they won't even glance at our test results without us showing up in person for a consultation; and as I mentioned earlier, they won't even bother examining or touching a patient if the disease isn't under control (that's what my husband's pulmonologist told us).
If you happen to have any more recent information, please feel free to share. :-)

Thanks for the response. Well, we had read that they utilize some incredible, cutting-edge chemo methods—something highly advanced and targeted specifically at the affected area. Honestly, if we got the word that they were available, we would head over there immediately.
But I wonder what they mean by the disease not being "under control." In our case, we are dealing with a recurrence of pancreatic cancer two years after the initial surgery, and there are no metastases.
As soon as I learn anything new, I will share it with everyone.
Thank you very much.
Greetings. Has anyone here had any personal experience with the new Mayo Clinic Radiochirurgia facility in St. Louis?
What are the actual results like? I am trying to determine if they strictly provide chemotherapy or if they offer more advanced therapeutic options as well. Furthermore, are their fees prohibitively expensive? If anyone possesses more detailed information, please respond; this situation is quite urgent. We have already submitted the medical records and are currently waiting for them to call us back, but I have no idea what the typical wait time looks like.

Thanks for the response. So you're saying independent accounting firms won't be affected? Is this only relevant if someone is working as an in-house accountant for a specific company?! 🤔

Does anyone have clarity on this? Back in September 2015, an issue of Accounting and Taxes noted that licensed accountants were being introduced. It stated that under the new Accounting Act, if a business owner outsources their accounting tasks to other legal entities or individuals, those parties must hold a specific license to perform such duties. This mandate was set to take effect on January 1, 2018.

Does anyone actually grasp the implications here? Is the requirement essentially saying that every single bookkeeper is now forced to be licensed, or what exactly is the catch?

I really appreciate all the feedback here; honestly, that is exactly the strategy I was planning to implement. The problem is their sheer stubbornness—they always manage to dig up some random invoice from months ago just to derail my entire year... it’s exhausting.
