I need some guidance on how to handle a situation where a client hands over invoices that fall into previous VAT periods. For instance, I just received four invoices from six months ago and three from five months ago, even though the VAT returns for those months have already been filed. Am I allowed to record these for input tax credit in the current July filing, or am I required to file amended returns for May and June with the IRS? Furthermore, does the IRS actually penalize businesses that happen to stumble upon lost invoices after the fact?

I’m looking for some guidance here. On June 6th, our accounting firm submitted the physical registration paperwork to Medicare to officially link us with a client so we can begin managing their employee enrollments and terminations. We attempted to log into the system today to process our first termination for this specific client, but the business isn't appearing in the registry at all—their name is nowhere to be found in the employer database. Is there an additional step we need to take to properly "link" ourselves to this client's account so we can actually carry out these filings?
Many thanks

Brenda Chase3, I APPRECIATE IT! 🙂

We haven't officially filed our paperwork yet—we’re planning to handle that this Friday—but someone mentioned that you need an individual insurance ID number when filing for enrollment or disenrollment through the online pension portal. Is there any truth to that? Specifically, I'm wondering if they require the ID number from my old employment records; is it actually possible that they'll demand that specific number even if my previous job has been terminated, or am I just being misinformed by whoever told me?
Best, Udava🙂

I appreciate the responses, everyone, though it feels like we’ve been completely blindsided by 🙂
. So, let me get this straight: there is absolutely no need to scan the employment contract? No supporting documents whatsoever? I'm just supposed to fill out the necessary forms and call it a day?
And once those are signed and submitted, what actually happens next? What is the subsequent step in the process after they are printed out and taken down to the Social Security Administration office?

I’m looking for some guidance here. This past Friday, we filed the initial registration paperwork for our bookkeeping firm with the Social Security Administration, along with a power of attorney for another small business we manage, which we intend to use for handling their employee enrollments. However, when I log into the online portal, the system only grants me access to filings for our own bookkeeping firm; there is absolutely no option to manage or report for the hospitality business we are trying to represent.
Is it possible we missed a specific form or a secondary authorization? Did we need to submit something electronically to establish our authority over that second business? I have tried calling the helpline for the online portal, but I can't get anyone to pick up the phone.
Vaginal infection (unknown cause) in Women's Health ·
Does anyone here have experience with being prescribed specific vaginal suppositories? My doctor recently gave me a private prescription for some soft ones that cost $43, which is quite a jump from the standard ones I was given a year ago that were covered by insurance. She didn't bother explaining the difference or mentioning that this would be such an expensive shift in my treatment plan. These expensive ones are round and have this intense yellow-orange color, and honestly, they are much more difficult to use than the regular ones that seem designed with a much more practical shape in mind.

Thanks, ruggedmaker2. We actually went directly to a manager at the local IRS branch to get some clarity, but she was completely clueless. She just pointed us toward an email address for the Chief Advisor at the Department of the Treasury. Naturally, they shot back saying we have to submit a formal written request to the IRS and pay the $6.75 processing fee first. Apparently, you can't even get a straight answer without cutting them a check. It’s ridiculous—we paid the filing fees for one of those inquiries seven months ago, and we’re still sitting here waiting on a response. It seems their only priority is making sure you pay up.🙂

Does anyone here have any insight on this, or perhaps there’s already been an inquiry regarding it? I am wondering if companies can still claim input VAT on their business invoices for expenses incurred from July 1, 2013, onwards. ?

Thanks in advance🙂

Raymond Martinez10 said:"The form is signed and locked—no edits allowed." 🙂🙂🙂

My mother used to tell me: "Read it line by line, don't skip anything."
Well, I learned my lesson. Now it's done. 🙂 🙂

vlado3, I have no idea what you're getting at🙂 because I am seeing the exact same message stating the form "is signed and cannot be edited," and yet absolutely nothing happens. There isn't even a confirmation that it was received or any sign of progress. I actually called their toll-free support line, and the woman on the other end sounded completely frazzled; she basically admitted the application is broken and that it isn't our fault, but rather that their system keeps hanging and half the features simply aren't functioning. So, how are we supposed to submit anything? The old system worked perfectly fine, and there was never an issue with it.

Has ANYONE HERE actually managed to successfully file an ID form using this new, broken software?!

We attempted to file an IBM form through this revamped IRS portal today, and it threw an error message immediately upon submission. We properly signed the document and hit send, yet the system rejected it instantly. Everything functioned flawlessly under the old version of the electronic filing system.
Is there some additional step required before the final submission that we might be overlooking? We have already checked the box to accept the terms and conditions, but that hasn't solved anything.
Are you all still having your clients sign physical IBM copies, or is digital submission sufficient once the confirmation is received?

My real concern, however, is whether this option allows me to track the shipment's progress. Will I still receive that standard tracking number—the one used to verify delivery if the recipient claims they never actually got the package? Thanks a million.😉
So, I need to ship a skirt to another city, and my plan is to send it via a parcel service. Does this mean I am strictly required to use a box, wrap it up securely, and specify that it should be sent via certified mail? Should I declare the value on the package, put my return address in the top left corner, and then place the recipient's address on the right side, or am I overcomplicating things? Also, what kind of shipping costs should I realistically expect to pay for this? My thanks to the kind and helpful people responding here.🙂
Honestly, the USPS is absolutely losing its mind lately; they find a way to nickel and dime you at every single turn. I’ve started using General Delivery instead of having packages sent directly to my house, specifically because I was so fed up with being targeted by those ridiculous delivery fees $1.75 they try to tack on. But then, I show up at the post office only to be hit with some other arbitrary charge—whether they call it a storage fee or a handling fee, it’s always something new under a different name. When I actually have the audacity to ask what these charges are for, the staff just stares at me like I’m some kind of idiot and gives me these condescending, half-hearted answers. It is an absolute disaster. I would fire every single one of them if I had the power; there are people out there who would actually be polite and take pride in their work, but clearly, that isn't the case here. It feels like you aren't even allowed to question the costs, and frankly, they should be providing itemized receipts for all this nonsense. It is total chaos.
Nicole Lee4 said:Of course she received confirmation for the package.
The confirmation includes the tracking number for the shipment—which, in your case, is the package itself.
She has the authority to initiate a formal inquiry.
You, on the other hand, are essentially powerless here.
Or, if you really need to feel involved, have her read the tracking number from the receipt—unknown—and then call her local USPS office yourself just to verify whether the item actually left their facility.
Using that same tracking number, you can also monitor whether the package has reached your local post office.
Furthermore, double-check the exact destination address she used; it is entirely possible the package has been sitting there for a month, waiting at some random branch.
😉

Thanks for the input yet again, Nicole Lee4.🙂 We’ll just have to wait and see what kind of mess this "return to sender" situation turns into in the end.😢
When a package is sent via USPS Parcel Select and I show up at the local post office only to find nothing on file, what is my best course of action to track it down? Does the sender receive a specific tracking number or some kind of confirmation that would allow them to inquire about the status of the shipment? A girl sent a package to my P.O. box two weeks ago, yet there is absolutely no sign of it anywhere. What steps should I take now? Thanks.😢
Does anyone happen to know how long a package sits at the local post office when it's sent to the US with a "poste restante" instruction?
Nicole Lee4 said:just ask the sender to use General Delivery
that means nobody is going to give you a heads-up when your package arrives, nor will they deliver it to your doorstep.
you have to pay some fee. And there is no specific street address involved.
for example:
unknown
GENERAL DELIVERY
WASHINGTON, D.C.

thanks, Nicole Lee4😉
I have a question regarding shipping preferences. If I don't want a package delivered directly to my doorstep and would rather pick it up myself at the USPS office, how should I format the address? Should I just list my full name followed by the local USPS branch, or is there a specific protocol? Thanks🙂 Additionally, how am I supposed to know when the item is actually ready for pickup? What is the standard holding period—is it five days from the date of dispatch, or something else?
Issues with online banking - JPMorgan Chase in Banking, Insurance & Loans ·
Can someone please walk me through this—I’m sitting here with a bill from $1233 right in front of me, and I need to wire the funds to the account for Land Surveying Associates via my online banking. However, every time I attempt to process it, the system throws an error. When I input "01" for the payment model and enter the reference number and account details, it keeps flagging the transaction, claiming that for the second data field, the control number must be 2. Please, verify this for me. I am genuinely hesitant to proceed because there is absolutely no guidance provided on which model or reference number a standard citizen should use when paying a private firm or a small business. Help me out; I really don't want to accidentally mismanage nearly $4,000.😢
