Yeah, I get where you're coming from. It’s just... honestly kind of trippy, and actually pretty messed up, that you could be under some official quarantine order without even realizing it...
This whole thing about whether you actually get official paperwork or not is just... confusing. It’s honestly pretty idiotic that you can be stuck in isolation without even having formal proof of it.
Back in the spring, they were actually handing out documents. I know for a fact my dad received his official notice, and the local police even showed up twice to check in on him. But then last month, my son had to go into isolation because of COVID at his preschool. We got a call from the local health department, and we had to decide which parent would stay home with the kid. My husband ended up doing it—it was officially logged as sick leave for him—which meant I was free to go wherever, even to a wedding if I wanted to... but we never received any actual paperwork, and the police never once came by to check.
So, I had a student checking account for a few months after I graduated and landed my first job... I didn't think to tell the bank or anything, but my banker actually called me in to get it sorted out since it was pretty obvious I was getting a paycheck now. That was about ten years ago...
It hasn't happened to me yet, but I feel like I’d probably just yank my hand away if someone tried touching me without asking first. Just like Nicole Patel2... I'm really not a fan of being touched...
As far as outside stressors go, what’s really getting under my skin lately is my coworkers... specifically the guys whose wives or girlfriends have had kids. They constantly come at me with these unsolicited tips and "orders" about how I should be doing things, or basically telling me everything I'm doing wrong. It's almost comical when they start acting like experts on parenting, because clearly, they know 😁
In general, though, I've just been dealing with this constant physical discomfort, and I can't help worrying that something might actually be wrong. My doctor keeps insisting everything is perfectly fine, but I can't help feeling uneasy about it
