Melissa Peterson19 said:You think what we're doing now is terrifying, but somehow it's perfectly fine if they send them back to us and we just repeat the whole process in reverse.

Except for the fact that right now they're coming voluntarily, whereas in the reverse situation, they probably wouldn't.

I guess I have to ask: what kind of logic is that? Where is the consistency?

Ha, ha. I wonder what Orban will do when half a million refugees—the very ones he insulted in Germany—start heading his way instead. He’s already fenced off the south with the Wire. What then? Will he push them through legal checkpoints one by one? Or just move the Wire further north toward Germany? That would be his smartest move. Maybe he could sell it cheap as used equipment to those Sycophants in the US. It's a bargain!
Let’s just take it from the top here... You've got guys like me trying to put food on the table using whatever tools we've got, and then you've got Francis over there, just like you, writing stuff for people while trying to keep the lights on. We're all just out here trying to make ends meet, I guess, but let's be real—there are strings being pulled behind the scenes. And the people pulling those strings? They don't exactly have total control over everything... So, what is Orban actually gonna do? Well, he'll probably try *something*. He isn't exactly out there digging ditches, is he? In the absolute worst-case scenario, he'll just end up posting on this forum and hoping that somehow keeps the family fed.
There’s this whole old story, right? Like, back when we were under the Austro-Canadian Empire, we actually respected the government, whereas those folks from the mountains always saw the state as the enemy. Well, once they decided to actually become a country themselves, there was a bit of a little confusion, I guess. Personally, I feel like I'm smarter than like 60% of the people in this beautiful country, so obviously, I'm not gonna starve. If this situation is what I basically spent my whole life fighting for... yeah, it definitely isn't. And hey, the kids look pretty great for traveling abroad... they really do. All in all, it's a super cool situation that's unfolding, but honestly, it doesn't matter much to anyone. Just the ideal consumer for GMOs... I mean, if a guy like me was raised in some lab, I'd have to give the lab props!
So, I’ve got this little project going on indoors—trying to tinker with some old-school tech, building a transistor radio or a tristate thingy, but whatever, that’s not even the point. Since this topic clearly gets people fired up, I’ll just put it on the nightly news at 10 PM on ABC. What I mean is, every single—and I mean *every* single—news story about refugees has that exact same segment... you know, the one about Abdulah studying medicine or Muharem being some IT genius. It’s been days, literally days, of the exact same template. I'm not saying those people don't exist, obviously, but a decent news outlet can't just hammer the same repetitive trope into our heads every single day. It's like North Korea in there. Personally, I gave up on the 10 PM news; I’d rather just flip to an independent station or something grassroots. But hey, if you have the patience for it, feel free to check it out yourself. It’s just the same thing over and over...
Honestly, I’m a little slow on the uptake here, but I just don't get how you can call it a "success" to negotiate with someone who's basically just jerking you around instead of actually moving forward. Like, what's even the point? It's kind of like that old joke—"Let's get organized!" "Okay, I'll grab my cigarettes," says the guy who thinks he's a total player.
