I tend to live by a simple rule: help those who ask for it, but don't waste your breath on someone who refuses to seek help. If a person has zero desire to change, there isn't a damn thing you can do for them; however, if they actually want to grow, that’s a different story entirely. Personally, I steer clear of people who constantly project their own insecurities and flaws onto everyone else. To me, they are fundamentally irrational, and you simply cannot have a rational conversation with an irrational person. Honestly, they are the ones suffering most in this scenario. They are terrified of facing themselves and accepting who they really are. Instead of doing the hard work of self-improvement, they hunt for excuses and pick apart the faults of others just to get a temporary ego boost. But that relief is nothing but an illusion—it's fleeting, leaving them trapped in the same endless cycle. So, the question remains: do you indulge their delusions? If they are trying to fuel their fantasies using my energy, I refuse to permit it. If we let them cling to those illusions, they will never realize they're living a lie. In my view, the best course of action is to speak your truth; it’s never the answer to please someone else at the expense of your own well-being. If they dig in their heels and the discussion becomes futile, the smartest move is to walk away and stop wasting your precious energy on nothing.
