Help, I'm getting old! in Music ·
Honestly, I find it pretty sweet—I just crank the volume all the way up and dance my heart out all over the house 😁
Of course, everyone has their own taste; we all look for something different in music. There was a time when artists actually had something meaningful to say, but nowadays, it feels like people are just trying to make a quick buck while churning out whatever catchy nonsense works.
At my age, I just want to have a good time with the music. I have no interest in listening to someone wail about cutting their veins or dying... honestly, life is way too short for all that drama 🙂

Haha, my mom says the exact same thing—apparently, if you criticize what kids are listening to, it just means you're getting old. 😬
There is actually some great new stuff out there—like Wake Me Up...
You just have to let your brain relax and dive in! 😁 I have nieces who constantly keep me updated, so they make sure their aunt doesn't get too old.😬

Look, if I stumble upon a book that's actually this well-written, I’m definitely buying it—and then passing it along to everyone I know.
I usually don't have the patience for long posts, but I ended up reading yours from start to finish. Honestly, I’m ready for more 🙂

That was my very first thought when I read the post. Seriously, you've got some guts. 🙂
What is the point of the ER? in Health ·
Some pretty bad experiences 😢
I really have to give a shout-out to the ER teams in St. Louis and Slough; honestly, everyone there was amazing. Every time I had to call for my parents, they showed up right away and were incredibly patient, professional, and efficient. Seriously, kudos to the emergency crews—thank you guys!
Now I’m starting to realize that wasn't the norm, but unfortunately, just a lucky exception.

There’s already a thread on here about it.
For me, the only thing that worked was DuPont cream.

Thank you for the link! We're going to try that lavender and tea tree essential oil soak right away (up until now, we've been soaking hands in chamomile and calendula tea—it feels like we've tried everything possible).
We'll also grab that DuPont cream; I really hope it works because we're getting pretty desperate after all these endless attempts. Just when we think we're finally seeing progress, everything flares up again and we're back to square one..
Thank you for the help! 🙂

Thanks so much for all the replies. He actually just went in for some allergy testing where they apply a patch to his back and leave it there for a while. They didn't find any allergies this time around, but if I'm being honest, the whole process felt a little hit-or-miss to me—they didn't even do a blood test, which is what we'll be doing next.
Thank you again. 🙂

I’ve been searching around, but I can't seem to find a thread on this specific issue. I'm looking for some advice or maybe just to hear if anyone else has dealt with something similar.
About two years ago, my husband first noticed some peeling skin on his hands. We didn't think much of it at the time and just had him use some basic moisturizer.
But over the last few months, things have taken a turn for the worse. His hands are red, swollen, peeling, itchy, and stinging. Honestly, the worst part is how much they crack—it looks like he’s been getting constant paper cuts. We went to a dermatologist, but they couldn't pinpoint a cause. They ruled out fungus and basically told him to just stop using his hands for a month to see if it clears up (as if that's actually possible!).
He's tried just about every ointment and cream out there. At first, things seem to improve, but then it feels like his skin just gets used to the treatment and the symptoms flare right back up. It's really interfering with his work—he does graphic design involving lots of paper and chemicals—so he's been trying both cotton and rubber gloves, but nothing seems to help.
If anyone has any tips, suggestions, or even a helpful link, I would be so grateful... please.
Thank you!
How do you stick to a diet? in Psychology ·
I used to deal with work stress by coming home, face-planting into some seriously unhealthy takeout, and just crashing on the couch. I did that for months—it took me a while to realize what was happening—but the problem was that those same issues were waiting for me every single morning. Now, it’s become a hundred times harder because I can barely bend over to tie my sneakers without feeling winded... plus, my blood pressure is through the roof, my jeans feel way too tight, and honestly, seeing myself in the mirror or stepping on a scale is enough to make me want to scream. It was great; I managed to pile even more problems onto an already stressful situation—extra weight. 😬
The truth is, eating my way through stress didn't fix anything; it actually made everything worse. Once I finally had that "aha!" moment (which, let's be honest, took way longer than it should have), I found a much better way to unwind. Now, I do some Pilates every afternoon using this DVD I have, and I jump on my stationary bike, crank up the music, and just pedal away. I don't feel nearly as hungry anymore, my head feels clearer, and since I'm not constantly obsessing over food, the pounds are slowly melting off without it being a massive struggle. I've noticed I'm also handling things at the office much better; I'm less tense and just feel more capable overall. For me, once the mind settles down, the body tends to follow suit. 🙂
