Man... if only I’d thought to ask sooner. I’ve spent the entire day playing fool—installing things, deleting them, honestly losing track of what I’ve even tried at this point. It’s just one of those days where everything feels like a massive waste of time. Best if I just move on and deal with whatever else comes my way, right?
Hey there, I’m not having any trouble with the IRS site, but for some reason, my bank's portal isn't working on any browser I try today. The applet just won't load, so I'm feeling a bit stuck here.. Windows 8 A pop-up appears... I click allow, and then the whole menu just vanishes...
I logged into the IRS portal just like I always do, fully intending to sign and submit the tax forms I had sitting there ready to go. But before I could even click a button, the system hit me with an automated prompt for some software installations... and then it started dragging me through this step-by-step setup process like I didn't know what I was doing.
(Wind.8) Chrome is still holding up fine, but I just couldn't get Mozilla to behave the way I wanted it to. Everything was working smoothly in File Explorer until today, when I decided to install a new version of Java 8. Now? It’s a mess. File Explorer claims there's no certificate. To be precise, it actually finds the certificate, I confirm that it's the one being offered, and then—nothing. Just that little warning triangle popping up again telling me the certificate is missing. What am I supposed to do now? Everything was working perfectly just a few minutes ago, right before I messed with the Java installation... Does anyone have any thoughts on what my next move should be? (Chrome works without a hitch...)
I'm trying to get Firefox configured properly. My online banking works just fine, but the IRS site is being completely uncooperative. 😛
I've been digging through the settings and options, but under the certificates section, I can't find the Activision client certificate or that PKCS#11 file... whatever it was called. I tried to import it, but now it's just sitting there demanding a password. I'm at a total loss for what the next step is. Banking is up and running, but the tax site is totally dead to me.
Everything works perfectly over in Chrome, though.

I feel the same way. Chrome was a dream after using Internet Explorer, but now we're facing another headache. Please, let me know which browsers you're switching to and what your new setup looks like. I couldn't get Mozilla to behave no matter how hard I tried...
Hey there. Since we're already on the topic of software updates, has anyone actually made the jump from Google Chrome to something else yet? Are you all just going to stick with Firefox, or what? I'm asking because of that notice saying Chrome won't be supported starting this September...
They’ve completely lost it! Are we all just supposed to go ahead and change our payroll bases now? Are we just sitting around waiting for Medicare and NOAA to eventually send over the difference? So, I guess you can dodge the system by appointing someone who already has a full-time gig elsewhere as the director for a private firm, regardless of what their reported income looks like? And what about the current director running their own LLC? Do they just suddenly morph into a regular employee overnight?
The information at this link focuses entirely on the founders, board members, or the managing director of an LLC. What about the director of a standard corporation?
I have a bit of a silly question regarding the registration and deregistration process for MIO and ZO systems If an employee doesn't have any gaps in their employment history—say they quit their current job on May 20th—does the registration at the new company start on the 20th or the 21st? Also, regarding the manual filing at the service counter for MIO, does that only apply to companies with up to three employees? Does that mean if I need to deregister my fourth employee, I can still handle things at the counter or via the online portal because there are technically only three left? Or is health insurance deregistration handled automatically through the MIO system?
Hey there, What’s the best move if my digital tax and accounting certificates are about to expire? Does the service provider usually send over a renewal contract automatically, or am I expected to hunt them down myself?... Thanks!
Gary King5, I finally got them on my phone. The certificates haven't actually been revoked; there was just some kind of error over at the PU. I guess all we can do now is wait and see.
trati said:Hey everyone. The IRS portal is telling me my digital certificate has been revoked 🙂 I actually called the agency and they insisted everything is fine on their end. To make matters weirder, I can log into my Social Security account without any issues. Is anyone else running into this glitch with the IRS site...
So it’s not just me then. The IRS site is also giving me that "certificate revoked" error 🤔 My online banking works perfectly fine. As for the help desk, I can't get anyone on the line; the hold times are endless. According to the troubleshooting guide on the IRS website regarding the "revoked certificate" message, it suggests the certificate might be suspended if there are unpaid balances. I checked my records and everything is settled, except for the most recent quarterly filing which hasn't even arrived yet. What am I supposed to do now?🤔
I’m curious how those of you who handle monthly sales tax refunds manage things—do you deal with them as credits or through some kind of clearing account? For every single transaction, do you actually have to send over a bank statement just to prove the payment went through? To be honest, I’ve been running into constant headaches with my accountant because of this exact issue. It’s impossible to tell when she’s actually going to process the sales tax refund. The way it works is, I finalize a job and pay the invoice, and she immediately sees the liability on the ledger, but the actual payment doesn't show up for another five days. In those cases, I have to send a bank statement, BUT she insists on seeing it the very same day, yet she won't accept the payment order itself—she demands the statement, which isn't even available until the next business day. I always end up being the one left holding the bag.
