Gold: Past, Present, and Future in Other Investment Types ·
Look, man, just like everyone else before you, you're confusing price with actual value. 🙂
That "hitting the ice" phase you're talking about wasn't some freak accident either; people have been writing about this exact pattern forever.
Caution? Please. I stick strictly to physical precious metals—it’s the only way I get any decent sleep. 😁

vividgull10 said:So, you're telling me that back in 2011—during the absolute peak of the crisis and when they were cranking the printing presses like crazy—silver didn't drop 50% in value? And we're supposed to call that just a "minor retracement"? Give me a break.

Let's not get carried away here. We aren't debating religion. There's a difference between having convictions and calling people crazies just because they disagree—especially when the very theory you're backing just tanked by 50%. That’s not exactly a winning argument. And honestly, stop recycling sixty-year-old doom stories about the dollar collapsing or fiat becoming worthless. People have been shouting that same script since Bretton Woods, and yet, here we are. Sure, the collapse could happen tomorrow. It could have happened yesterday. It’s been "happening" for six decades straight. But while everyone else was busy waiting for the end of the world, some people were busy making massive fortunes on silver right after the printing presses started running.
Bottom line: we're playing in the market. Things aren't exactly stable enough here to be calling anyone crazy.

Just so there's no confusion, I'm generally on the buy side when it comes to precious metals.

Look, it's perfectly fine to call them that. There's a difference between having a different opinion and completely turning off your brain and pretending we're still in a normal market. We haven't been in a real market since 2008; it's just been constant intervention ever since.
And it wasn't a drop in value, it was a drop in price. We've already covered why that happened. Maybe you should go back and read our previous discussions.
And do a bit more homework. The dollar started its decline in 1971, not at Bretton Woods 🙂
Anyway, back to gold. I still think the paradigm has shifted. There will definitely be a correction, but one thing is certain: paper goes to zero, metals go to the moon.

I feel a little bad for them... actually, no, I'm lying.
Because they’ll be right back at it once the S&P 500 dips from 5,500 to 5,450, claiming the bubble finally burst for the millionth time.

It’s been obvious for a long time—they'll just kill off paper currency, just like they've done every single time in history.
Is it simple? Not even close. Especially for those who still haven't connected the dots and think things are just going to fix themselves.

It’s funny how everyone goes silent the moment metal prices start dipping.
I think we’re hitting a massive turning point. Between yesterday and today, they decided to just keep printing money indefinitely, which pretty much guarantees the dollar is dead in the water.
Part of me secretly hoped these lunatics might have learned a thing or two from history. Clearly, they haven't.
Anyone who still thinks there are actual markets left in this country is either an idiot or a madman. Maybe both.

It was honestly painful watching The New York Times coverage yesterday, all that dramatic fanfare about finally adopting the dollar. And then having to listen to our Fed Chair drone on in that exact same self-congratulatory tone.

You might want to jump in sooner rather than later. If history repeats itself like it did today, we could see a sudden $15 spike 🙂
I have no idea what you're basing those silver price targets on, but hey, dream on if it makes you feel better 🙂

The banks can always force metals down if they feel like it. There aren't even any actual market fundamentals driving them lower right now.
Not that it matters; nothing in the USA or the European Union has actually been fixed—if anything, things have just gone downhill.

The only realistic scenario is already playing out: they just keep printing money indefinitely.
That German court ruling was a joke—they didn't actually say "yes" or "no." They basically said you can do a little bit, just as long as it doesn't hit 😁
I’d love to see gold and silver prices tank so I could load up on more, but I have a feeling that isn't happening.

Tomorrow, the Germans will vote on whether those bailout funds are constitutional, and the day after that, Ben will be busy doing his own thing. 🙂
It’s pretty obvious the Germans will threaten to pull the plug on the funding—especially now that mahnit Mario has decided there’s zero issue with printing endless amounts of dollars.
Helicopter Ben might not explicitly say he’s going to print more dollars, but why would he? He never actually stopped. At the end of the day, what they say doesn't matter; only what they do does. And both of them are cranking out cash at full speed.

I can smell the sarcasm from here 🙂

It’s wild that Smith is actually a Hades supporter 😁
Then again, someone on our side decided to sell their gold at the absolute bottom... just brilliant.

When it comes to Merkel, Germany has blinked, but the Federal Reserve hasn't budged an inch. Sadly, the Federal Reserve can't actually do much besides threaten to walk away from the dollar 🙂
Meanwhile, the Austrians and the Finns are claiming they're done footing the bill for everyone else. Now... is that just talk, or will they actually pull the trigger? We'll see.

The tension between the Federal Reserve and the Fed's German counterparts has finally boiled over. Draghi is going to print money whenever he feels like it—effectively ignoring both his mandate and European Union agreements—while the opposition argues this path is a one-way ticket to ruin for Germany.
As for gold, I'm feeling incredibly bullish. 🙂
Regarding the European Union economy? We’re looking at a Greece-style meltdown within a year or two.
Gold: Past, Present, and Future in Other Investment Types ·
I wouldn't go that far.
Actually, it doesn't even matter. All that matters is that the printing presses keep running. 🙂

It doesn’t matter what they say; it’s about what they actually do.
The only thing they can really do is dump hundreds of billions of dollars into a plan to "save" Spain.
We all know how that ends—it’ll be just like the mess they made trying to "save" Greece.

1354 dollars... hitting an all-time high.
Which means 🙂

quiettrucker12, don't go giving him bad advice here. 🙂 Silver hasn't been keeping pace with gold for years now; if anything, the trend used to be the other way around. 🙂
If you're buying physical bullion, it’s pretty straightforward—just buy it, bury it, and leave it alone for a decade.
But if you want to gamble with paper assets, you'd better have nerves of steel and be ready to lose everything when the market decides to go crazy.
And obviously, do your homework before you throw any money at this.

You're better off putting your money into silver 😉
