I'm not sure if there's already a thread for this, but let's just say this one exists now.
I can still vividly picture the exact moment during my first appointment with my psychiatrist. I can see her face, and I know precisely what the last thing out of my mouth was right before I popped that pill.
"...After this, there's no turning back." — and just like that, I swallowed 50mg of Seroquel like it was nothing. 😬
And honestly? I was right. There really is no turning back. I regret starting on meds more than anything. It was like a slow fade... bit by bit, I felt my mind and my emotions slipping away. I became so... weird. I can't even laugh or cry anymore—just absolutely NOTHING. Just a hollow shell. It’s like these drugs slowly stripped away every single emotion I ever had. Every dream, every shred of hope... they just turned it all into plain, empty WATER! 😢

No, I’m being dead serious here. I’m just the kind of guy who won't shut up until they finally slap me with a warning. And honestly, there’s zero point in posting if I’m just going to get under everyone's skin anyway. So...
Sooo... I’ve been talking about getting banned for a while now. But clearly, nobody’s taking me seriously. And honestly? I have zero interest in posting mindless garbage on this site. So, I’ve got a little proposal for you guys instead.
I’ll shoot you a DM with a list of all my burner accounts and alt identities. You can hit the kill switch on all of them—give me a lifetime ban, I don't care. You can even nuked my access to all the active threads and subreddits. But, there’s one tiny catch. My one condition is that I get to run an ad for my side hustle in a couple of specific threads related to that niche—you know, the ones where everyone else follows the rules and promotes their stuff...
Basically: I vanish completely, and in exchange, I get to post in those 2 or 3 specific threads.
And look, if I break our deal—even just once with a single wrong post anywhere else on the site—then you can ban me for good, everywhere, no questions asked.
So... is that a deal?
Let me know who I need to talk to if this sounds like something you'd be down for.
Alright, look. I've got this USB drive loaded with all sorts of random junk—old versions of software I use constantly that are basically impossible to track down online anymore. So, I finally decided to be "smart" and upgrade from Windows 7 to Windows 10, but in my infinite wisdom, I totally forgot to set up a cloud backup first. Now, Windows 10 won't even let me access the drive at all. I tried playing it safe by reinstalling Windows 7, but even then, the system is just sitting there demanding I format the whole thing... 😢Is everything on there gone for good, or is there actually some kind of slim chance left to save my stuff?
Hey, I'm a 24-year-old guy living just outside of Washington, D.C., looking for someone to chat with. I’ll lay out some stuff about myself first, so... if any of this clicks with you, feel free to hit me up.
So ... - I'm pretty emotional, and honestly, a bit "sensitive" in certain areas (definitely). - I'm going through a bit of a rough patch right now, so I don't mind if you are too—if you've got stuff going on, we're good. Totally fine by me. - I don't judge anyone for their struggles or health issues; I'm the kind of guy who usually has to learn everything the hard way anyway. - I have zero tolerance for injustice, poverty, and all those other ugly things in this world. - When I meet people or start messaging, they become my priority. It honestly makes my day when I log onto the forum and see: "Inbox (1)". - I can't stand waiting three days for a reply; I can usually tell when someone isn't as invested as I am. That said... I have no problem if someone tells me they won't be around for a while. No biggie. - I struggle with relationships where people from forums are just a username on a screen. They often end up becoming really dear to me, so... yeah. - I don't view people as toys, and I don't get jealous if someone else comes along... but I get that sometimes you have to let go of what doesn't work to make room for something new. - I try my best to be there for my friends and actually listen, even if I haven't lived through everything they have, so maybe I lack perspective in some spots. - I love kids and really hope to be a dad someday. - Music is hands down the most important thing in my life. - I'm obsessed with racing and anything related to it—whether it's F1, NFS, GRID, or the Fast & F&F movies... - My heroes, in order, are: James Blunt, Juan Pablo Montoya, Jules Bianchi, and Paul Walker... - I don't have a college degree, but I've got a massive list of courses I want to knock out. - Right now, I'm grinding to make some money online because the job market is kind of a mess. - I'd love to make a living through writing; I write songs in English, if that matters. - I dream of having a little house surrounded by flowers.
Well... that's about it for now. 😢 Heading out for dinner, but hopefully, I'll come back to a message waiting for me. 😬
wiredotter14 said:... we’re eventually going to see much more affordable quad-core setups once the manufacturing processes mature and drive those prices down.
Honestly, I think Intel still has a total stranglehold on the market right now. Unless AMD pulls some kind of massive surprise out of their hat this season, I might actually start believing the first half of that sentence... 😬
I wasn't really aiming for some quad-core Pentium setup... what I meant was that the architecture behind the Celeron / Pentium chips is getting so advanced that their dual-core versions are basically going to punch way above their weight class, acting more like a modern quad-core 4440. Honestly, I think it's totally doable. Just look at how my G1840 holds its own against something like a Q8300 or Q8400... it's already happening. If they can keep those prices where they are for the next 5 to 10 years, we're looking at something seriously impressive 🙂
Adam Moore3 said:I've got this old G3220 sitting in my rig at home. Honestly? It handles Witcher 3 just fine paired up with a 260X... nothing crazy, but it gets the job done... 🙂
Man, I’m basically counting down the days... maybe ten years from now, if we're lucky... when we finally get a Celeron hitting 2.8GHz... then we'll actually be getting somewhere... $100...so yeah, basically just looking for something that can hold its own against a modern i5-4440. Not trying to break the bank, just want something that doesn't feel like a total dinosaur when I try to actually run stuff... 😁 That would be a total Best Buy clearance bin situation. Just like how my G1840 is basically on par with a Q8300... honestly, what even is that? 😁 I’ll still have to scrape enough cash together to make it happen, but man... it’s definitely gonna be worth the wait... 🙂
Adam Moore3 said:That Pentium... absolute little beast.
Look, I own a G1840, and honestly? To me, those Celeron and Pentium chips are just straight-up garbage. Seriously, even my i5 and i7 make them look like total jokes compared to what they can actually do. xD
crimsonstag84 said:Paying cash? Honestly, I can pull together a way better combo for the exact same price:
Intel Core i3-4160 (3.5GHz, 3MB, LGA1151) box ASRock H110M-DGS, s.1151, D4, S3, U3, mATX Seagate Barracuda 1TB, 64MB, 7200rpm HDWD110UZSVA Black case Nextyde X2 Isolatic 6021 without power supply Crucial Ballistix DDR4, 2400Mhz, 8GB, CL15 SAPPHIRE Video Card NITRO RADEON RX 470 4G GDDR5 PCI-E DUAL HDMI / DVI-D / DUAL DP OC (UEFI) LG GH24NSD1 SATA Bulk Black 24x optical drive Corsair Builder Series CX450M, Modular Power Supply, US version, 5yrs
Total: $1373 Best Buy
Better power supply, a much beefier graphics card, and everything else is basically the same...
If you actually want to play anything here, just grab an EVGA Core Pro 450 w, $33 which is cheaper, and I'd bet my life it's better too. Plus, that extra $33 is just enough to squeeze in an ASUS ROG RX 470 4GB. 🙂
There are a few other little things, but I'd end up blowing the budget by $83. -.-
I don't know specifically when it comes to motherboards, but back when I picked up my Gigabyte card, some guy on the Bug forums was tearing down an ASUS RTX 3060, and naturally, he posted screenshots from HWMonitor. The first thing that jumps out at you? A freaking 110-degree VRM temp. Just insane...
Then there's that other thing I linked earlier—some thread about a Gigabyte board where the user basically went full DIY, setting up a manual 120mm fan just to keep the VRMs from melting. And he actually posted that online too. Honestly, I don't think any of this is a coincidence. There’s gotta be some kind of pattern here... something's definitely fishy about how they design these things.
I mean, I’ve got him as my profile picture on Facebook, and honestly, I don't even have a photo of myself up there. So then you get all these XYZ people hitting me up like, "Who is that guy?" It makes me want to sit them down and give them a whole lecture... 😬
Jonathan Mendoza17 said:That’s just a misreading. I’m running an ASUS motherboard myself and both HWMonitor and HWInfo show me hitting around 110 degrees too. It happens when there isn't a sensor where one is expected, or sometimes the software just aggregates data from multiple sensors incorrectly. There's no way that reading is actually accurate.
I don't know about that, man. I mean, why would XYZ reviews all be saying the exact same thing? I can't say for sure... but yeah, I'm dealing with the same headache. Everything on my motherboard looks totally fine, except for the VRMs, which are freaking blistering hot.
EDIT:
Just so I'm not talking out of my ass here—I remember seeing a Gigabyte motherboard with this exact same VRM issue once. Some guy actually had to strap a dedicated fan directly onto it just to keep those components from melting... 😁
wiredotter14 said:Are you seriously trying to tell me ASUS has a 100% return rate on cards after just an hour of use?
Look, if you’re lucky enough to have a VRM fry itself because the voltage was set way too high, yeah, you'll probably get your money back. From what I've dug up online—and trust me, I've spent months falling down this rabbit hole—ASUS seems to be the one consistently struggling with those overheating VRMs. My old Gigabyte 280 had its own special kind of bullshit, though... the voltage was totally locked down and there weren't even any VRM sensors on the board. It doesn't take a genius to figure out what killed the card when it finally bit the dust. XD I'm telling you, I spent months obsessing over those 280s because I was totally done with them back then $550 ...
Timothy Kim60 said:So just because your brother’s card fried, nobody should ever touch XFX? Is that how this works?
Are you guaranteeing it'll last twice as long? Based on what, exactly? What if I go online and find some random guy whose brother had that exact GPU and it died on him too? Does that make the whole brand garbage?
Now we’re really getting into extreme territory. But honestly, it’s common knowledge that XFX makes cards where the quality is night and day compared to their power supplies. Anyone who knows anything will tell you that... 🙂
I’m sticking to my guns here—there are definitely companies out there that don't cut corners on components and don't try to "offload" cheap junk onto customers like some other brands do. I actually studied electrical engineering, FFS, I think I know a thing or two about electronic components...
Anyway, to wrap that thought up, I used to have an EVGA RTX 3060 for a while, and I was looking at getting an ASUS RTX 3060 instead. I can't even remember what possessed me to go with Gigabyte back then... but the point is, the ASUS hits VRM temperatures of 110°C within fifteen minutes. Anyone with half a brain knows a VRM is going to die after an hour of running at those temps, let alone longer... so yeah, that's why I passed on the ASUS. I've got an ASUS motherboard with the exact same issue—the VRM temps are absolutely insane. -.-
I’d much rather drop a little extra cash on a card that actually lasts a few years longer than the cheap stuff. Honestly, the only one that could even come close to giving it a run for its money would be maybe a Sapphirek.
Here’s another thing—my brother’s XFX R7950 2 bit the dust just two weeks after the warranty expired. And get this, the damn thing had already been baked twice...
So, I find it pretty hilarious that people are out here grabbing XFX when they wouldn't hesitate to pay a bit more for a card that actually survives twice as long.
Basically, $1000 wasted his money on something that totally crapped out on him. What a waste... I’m telling you, 3000 (!!!).
Timothy Kim60 said:Give me some context here. 😉 I’m pretty sure this was taken out of context. Whether something is a good deal or not comes down to the price tag—that should be obvious to anyone with half a brain...
This is the only example I could dig up after digging through Google for about 15 minutes.
Everyone’s already branded me a PC Enthusiast, so I guess I'm used to the heat. 😁
Timothy Kim60 said:You can actually snag an 8GB MSI gaming card at a couple of local shops (like Best Buy or Micro Center) for about $717. Honestly, given how much stuff costs in the States right now, it's a killer deal... probably the best version out there .
But the second I suggest MSI, everyone starts coming for my throat. 😛 This forum is such a weird place, man. 😬
Anyway, a buddy of mine has an MSI gaming RX 470, and let me tell you, that thing runs ice cold... I’ve got an MSI Armor, which has a decent cooler too, but it just doesn't hold a candle to the Gaming series.
Giving away this TP-Link WiFi USB Adapter, supports 802.11 b/g/n. It’s got this annoying little factory "glitch" where it just times out every 45 minutes like clockwork... then you have to go through the whole hassle of re-entering your network password all over again. I ended up grabbing a different WiFi dongle, so this one's just sitting here gathering dust. I originally dropped $38 on it via the link provided. Just a heads up, though—I don't have the receipt or the warranty anymore. The only catch is that you've gotta meet me in New York City to pick it up in person. So, if anyone actually needs it, just shoot me a message. 🙂
