I was watching a documentary the other night about the sheer scale of modern professional contracts, and it got me thinking about the psychological tug-of-war that happens when someone reaches the absolute summit of their career. We always talk about "loyalty" like it's this pure, unchanging virtue, but in the real world—especially in high-stakes industries—loyalty is often just a negotiation tactic used by both sides.
There’s this specific tension that arises when a person becomes more than just an employee; they become a brand, a symbol, or a cornerstone of an entire institution. At that level, the relationship stops being about "doing a good job" and starts being about identity. If you stay, you're the hero, the one who stood by the flag through thick and thin. But if you leave? You're suddenly the "traitor" or the "mercenary." It’s a heavy psychological weight to carry, especially when you're young and the entire world is watching your every move.
I see this play out even in non-sports contexts. Think about the tech exec who spends a decade building a startup from a garage to a multi-billion dollar empire, only to realize that the company has outgrown their original vision. Do they stay and become a figurehead, essentially wearing "golden handcuffs" while their influence wanes? Or do they jump ship to a rival to prove they weren't just a lucky passenger? There’s a fine line between being a legend and being stuck in a legacy that no longer serves your growth.
It makes me wonder about the concept of "the perfect fit." We’re taught from a young age to find our place, to find where we belong. But what happens when you find it, grow within it, and then realize that the very thing that made you successful there is now the thing holding you back? The pressure to stay put for the sake of "stability" or "tradition" can be suffocating. On the flip side, the constant itch for a new challenge can make you look like you have no roots, which is a different kind of social stigma.
I’ve personally struggled with this in my own career transitions. There was a time when I felt I owed everything to a certain company because they took a chance on me when I was a junior. I stayed three years too long because I felt a sense of moral obligation, even though I knew I was stagnating. I felt like if I left, I was somehow "betraying" the people who helped me climb. Looking back, I realize that professional growth and personal loyalty aren't mutually exclusive, but it's incredibly hard to see that when you're in the thick of the decision-making process.
Then there's the external noise. In the age of 24/7 media, every time a person shows a hint of hesitation or takes a moment to breathe, the vultures start circling. Every rumor is treated as a crisis. It creates this weird feedback loop where the individual is forced to make life-altering decisions under a microscope, often while they are still trying to process their own feelings. It’s a level of scrutiny that most of us can't even fathom, yet it dictates the trajectory of entire industries.
Is loyalty a real thing in high-level professional circles, or is it just a useful myth we tell ourselves to make the world feel more stable? When does "standing by your team" turn into "holding yourself back"?
Does anyone else feel like the pressure to remain "loyal" to a brand or an organization is actually a deterrent to personal evolution?
Honestly, I don't think people actually get what satire is supposed to do—LVM is textbook political satire if you actually bother to look at it. You really have to use your brain for a second, figure out what the writer was actually aiming at, and then maybe—just maybe—you won't screw it up.
I haven't felt insulted by a single one of their episodes, and even though I haven't watched the controversial ones myself, I've heard enough about them to know that this whole nationalist outcry against the series is completely baseless. It just baffles me how they can turn around and listen to Ceca during Bajram, yet feel entitled to talk trash about something they clearly didn't understand in the first place.
And look, a pig is just a creature made by Boziji—it’s just something you aren't supposed to eat. I have no idea where anyone read that you're supposed to hate them, spit on them, or recoil in disgust. It’s funny because some people seem to think I’m the problem since I follow Islamic traditions and don't eat pork, yet my kid has four little "pork chops" sitting right there on his plate... so much for that logic.

They’ve already been messing with it, deleting my post😢 and yet it remains wide open😁
anyway, check out the board for more nonsense😍
since this thread is definitely going to get locked eventually 😁, I’m gonna take the opportunity to say hi to my girls, including the wannabes Jerry Sanchez53 and granitecrane332 😘😍
edit: 1. I think for me, it was at 5 weeks when I had my first ultrasound and saw the gestational sac, though she didn't actually tell me the size until 7+3—it was something like 8 mm 🤷
I took the test the day after I expected my period and there wereeeeeee two of the most beautiful lines in the entire world!!!!!!!!!
2. Where are you even rushing to with that test?! It’s not gonna show you anything right away...
Larry Hall94 said:Thanks, Kevin Richardson3, for the reply. I guess that would be way too fast for me, too. I work in an all-female office, and when I mentioned what was hurting, they immediately jumped to conclusions and assumed I was pregnant. I'm heading to the doctor tomorrow morning, though. I still have this feeling it might be my kidneys.
Hmm... maybe it isn't your kidneys after all. Don't start panicking just yet 😉.. you might have just caught a little bug or something... good luck with everything!!
quietcrane said:Hi ladies, quick question here:
My period isn't due until October 18th.
Symptoms so far: my breasts feel swollen and tender (though they usually get sore before my period, they don't typically swell like this), I've felt some sharp twinges in my ovaries, and my mood has been all over the place—I’ve had these sudden bouts of paranoia followed by intense sadness, only to find myself feeling completely fine moments later. Also, I noticed some yellow discharge today, though there's no odor.
How much longer should I wait before taking a pregnancy test?
thanks
so what happened?
is it a plus or a minus?
nobody ever wants to share anything, ugh......
Larry Hall94, there's no way you're feeling pregnancy symptoms just two days after having sex...
Patrick Moore38 said:Well, I took your advice and did another test, but it came up negative again. Honestly, it doesn't even surprise me since there was hardly any chance of me getting pregnant anyway. Now I'm just sitting here waiting for my period to start, praying I'm not one of those 5% who actually gets pregnant despite a negative test. Good grief...
Thanks, stay well, and I hope everything goes smoothly with your little one!😍
you aren't pregnant 🙂... thanks, thanks, I'll be having a baby eventually, haha...😍
Patrick Moore38 said:Yeah, I have to admit, I’m feeling this sharp pain in my lower abdomen whenever I sit down too fast or stand up abruptly... plus, I've got a slight fever of 99 degrees. That’s really the only thing on my list of symptoms so far
I didn't deal with any pain 😕, and I'm pretty sure my temp never even hit 99...
Hey, maybe you should just run the test again, but make sure it's your very first one in the morning...
George Garcia56, if I can offer one bit of advice—just take a deep breath and try to stay calm... First off, huge congratulations on the pregnancy!
I’m truly rooting for you and hoping everything turns out perfectly.
If I were in your shoes, though, I’d probably go out of my way to get a second opinion. Maybe book an appointment with a private OB-GYN or something similar... I have a feeling they’d be more willing to run a beta test for you and all that.
Sending you my best and wishing you nothing but the best!
driftingbear10 said:Man, I honestly don't have the energy to keep repeating myself—it’s the same loop every single time. Either go grab some Advil or just go fix up the kid's bedroom already. Seriously, what else am I even supposed to say? 🤷
🤣🤣🤣👍🙏, respect!
I’m with you—she really needs to get some swabs done. That constant itching and discomfort? It’s got absolutely nothing to do with her period, ovulation, or whether she's pregnant...
Besides, if I remember correctly, you said you took a test just 23 days after your suspected ovulation date... hellooo?
For women, those things show up after about 12 days...
Just go see a doctor and get the swabs checked out to make sure there isn't some kind of bacterial infection lingering around... stop overthinking it unnecessarily.
And please, for future reference, just stick to a reliable brand like Clearblue or something similar.
Hey, just a heads-up... if you flip over to the next page, there's a thread called _Random test !!! where everything about symptoms, testing, and all that stuff is laid out.
It’s pretty much a given that our mods will end up moving this discussion over there anyway...
Just wait until you actually expect to get it, then try the test again.
Technically, the rule of thumb is that if you see even the faintest little line, you're pregnant.
But honestly, I’ve seen plenty of women take them way too early—they see this barely visible plus sign and think they're expecting, only to find out it was just a false alarm.
It really all comes down to which brand you're using...
Maybe give Clearblue or an Intim test a shot... those are reliable enough that you can even take them around day 23 or 24.
I’ve been thinking about this lately—it’s hard not to when you see how much everything is shifting—but there’s this specific kind of intellectual depth that seems to be slipping through our fingers. I call it erudition, though maybe that’s too fancy a word for a Tuesday afternoon. It’s that deep, layered understanding of things—not just knowing facts like you're playing trivia at a bar in Chicago, but actually grasping the connective tissue between ideas. It feels like we're moving toward this era of "surface-level everything." You glance at a headline, you get the gist, and you move on. There's no digging. No staying with an idea long enough to let it actually change your mind. It’s all very fast, very loud, and frankly, a bit shallow. Real knowledge requires a certain kind of patience—a willingness to sit with the discomfort of not knowing something immediately. We used to value the slow build, the gradual accumulation of wisdom. Now? If it isn't a thirty-second clip, people act like it doesn't exist. It's a strange way to live, really—constantly consuming without ever truly absorbing. I wonder if we're losing the ability to think deeply, or if we're just choosing not to. Either way, it’s a loss. kaže:
So, quick question—do you guys jump straight in the shower right after sex, or do you hang out for a bit first?
So, we’ve actually started tackling that issue—which, let’s be honest, is a bit of a leap considering we’re still pretty much rookies at this.😍I ended up just heading straight for the shower—it was basically an autopilot move at that point. Maybe I should have just waited a bit longer—let things settle, I guess—to see if everything would actually fall into place.☕😍
Is that whole "legs up the wall" thing just some old wives' tale, or is there actually some science behind it? Anyway—my uterus is retroverted, which apparently means I’m supposed to be lying on my stomach more often... or so the rumors go.😕 Any anatomy experts hanging out in this thread?😁?
Don't bother hopping in the shower right after sex if you’re actually trying to conceive. I mean, look, the odds of you messing everything up are slim—practically zero—but I did come across some stuff saying those fancy scented body washes and bubble baths can be slightly toxic to sperm. It's a bit of a stretch, maybe, but still... I wouldn't recommend washing up immediately after. Like Lawrence Alvarez2 mentioned to me, just wait until you're ready for bed, then go ahead and hit the bathroom. 🙂 Good luck!
Lawrence Alvarez2 said:Don't stress too much, honey. I used the pull-out method all the time and it worked for me! Even when things were off by 3 or 4 days after my period, or 5 or 6 days before, he'd finish inside and I never ended up pregnant. It was only when we stopped pulling out that I actually conceived!
In my opinion, though, you really need that full ejaculation to get pregnant. 😉
I’ve been sticking to intermittent fasting for basically half my life at this point—half an eternity, really—and honestly? Nothing. Absolutely nothing has happened. Not a single thing.
Then the whole process finally kicked into gear—but right during my most infertile days... so, naturally, absolutely nothing happened.
Even when things look fertile and full of potential—like a bumper crop year or a booming market—it still just doesn't happen. It’s funny how that works, really. You see all this growth, all this promise right in front of you, and yet... nothing. Still nothing. 😬
What do you guys honestly think goes through a kid's head when they see pancakes being made? Like, is it just pure anticipation, or is there something more to it? 😬😁
So, I was thinking about something an ex of mine used to say once—this bit of "wisdom" he’d drop whenever things got serious—and it was basically, you can't have a kid without both the bullet and the powder. A bit grim, sure, but he had this way of making everything sound like some gritty noir monologue. He was convinced that nothing meaningful happens without a little bit of chaos and a lot of fuel to set it off. It’s one of those lines that sticks in your head, even if you think the guy was talking nonsense at the time. 😳😛
Kenneth Long4 said:Thanks, you all have helped calm my nerves a bit... though, I suppose with all this worrying, my cycle might be delayed even further. Once I get those beta results back, I should hopefully see my period arrive (at least, that's the hope). 😉
There is just no way you're pregnant—I mean, if that weren't the case, the doctors at Mayo Clinic would have spotted it by now. It’s actually pretty common for people to rush in for a checkup just to get that extra bit of reassurance right around this stage, but still... two positive tests aren't exactly easy to fake.
If I told you that my biological clock was practically screaming at me during my peak fertile windows, yet here I am... still "not pregnant!"—you probably wouldn't believe me. 😬I honestly can't tell if that's actually supposed to mean anything—it’s one of those things where you stare at it for a minute and still come up empty. 🙂
Anyway, I know plenty of people are going to tell you that you can still make a dent without finishing the job—but honestly? It’s a massive uphill battle. It’s nearly impossible, really... unless, of course, your guy happens to have some absolute superstars on the swim team. 🙂
Don't even sweat it...
Maybe that hematoma is part of the reason things are running behind... just a thought.🤷I honestly don't have any experience with that...
Kenneth Long4 said:Listen, I spent the entire day yesterday scrolling through this forum, and even though I managed to get quite a few replies, some of my questions went completely unanswered. So, if you could all just be a little kind and help me out, I’d really appreciate it. 🙂
So, here’s the situation: my period is four days late. Usually, I’m pretty much clockwork—if anything, it might drift by a day or two, but never more than that. However, we had a bit of a scare during my fertile window when a condom broke. We didn't even realize it happened at the time, and honestly, he didn't finish inside me, but I know how this works. Even if you think you're safe, pre-ejaculate can be a total wildcard. It's like thinking you've avoided a rainstorm just because you don't see a cloud, only to realize the humidity was already there. I really thought I was in the clear, but now I'm sitting here wondering. 🙄
I took a test on the very first day my period was late, and it came back negative. Then I waited three days and tested again today—still negative! Both times I used an Intim Plus kit.
I stopped by my doctor's office this morning, and she told me she doesn't see any signs of pregnancy just yet. All she could confirm was that ovulation occurred on my right ovary. As for the left one, I’ve still got that hematoma lingering there—it's a leftover from the inflammation following that cyst surgery I had on that side. 😢
I went in to get my blood drawn earlier today, and I should have my beta hCG results back by this evening. Just curious—what kind of level would that hormone need to be at for me to definitely not be pregnant? 🤷
I’m not experiencing any actual symptoms. My breasts were tender for a bit, but that’s passed now—they only hurt if I touch them directly, and there hasn't been any noticeable swelling. As far as I can tell, I don't have any signs of pregnancy at all.
I’m really hoping my delay is just a byproduct of the sheer amount of stress I've been dealing with this month—not to mention how much my schedule has been absolutely crushing me lately.
Listen, if I'm pregnant, my OB-GYN should definitely be spotting some changes on an ultrasound, right? It’s been four weeks and two days since my last period started. 😢
I'd say you aren't pregnant... First off, he didn't finish inside, which is the biggest factor here...
Second, a test should have picked it up by now
and even a doctor should be able to spot a sac by this point
but honestly, the Beta HCG will give you the final, definitive answer
though, if you ask me, you're probably just stressing yourself out and your period is just running late... 😉
