I don't know... deep down, I feel like it probably isn't happening. 😢

If you didn't manage to conceive using withdrawal, maybe give regular intercourse a try instead.🤣
Lisa Rivera said:The withdrawal method is incredibly unreliable. My partner and I actually ended up conceiving that way ☕, even though it was during a window when we weren't supposed to be fertile according to my usually predictable cycle—ovulation just happened to be delayed by about a week 🙂...
A man releases small amounts of sperm before he even reaches climax, so if one of those cells manages to make the journey, you're looking at 😁

I’d suggest waiting a few days, and if your period still hasn't arrived, just take another test...
It is entirely possible that you are pregnant but the HCA Healthcare levels aren't high enough to detect yet, or perhaps you simply aren't 🎉

Well, he’s actually really good at pulling out on time because we've been using that method for a year now and haven't had any luck making a baby 🤣.
Nicholas Howard60 said:Hey, hi... I have a quick question. About two weeks ago, I hooked up with my boyfriend—it was the 6th day after my period ended. We used the "pull out" method. We also slept together about 5 or 6 days before that, using the same method. The issue is that for the last few days, I’ve been feeling nauseous (I actually threw up yesterday morning), and I think smells are hitting me a bit harder than usual. My head has been killing me at times, I get these sudden hot flashes, and for the last two days, my stomach has been cramping like I'm about to start my period. I have some spotting, too, and my breasts are sore (not specifically the nipples, just the sides, I guess...). This morning, around 3:00 AM, I took a pregnancy test and it came back negative. But can I actually trust it? My last periods were on March 10th, February 14th, and even January 24th... they're a little irregular. I don't know... maybe all these symptoms are just from stress. Sorry for the long post.

Since your last cycle was 24 days, you likely ovulate around day 10. If you had sex on day 6, there's a tiny chance of pregnancy since those could have been fertile days, but since you used the pull-out method, the odds are pretty slim. You're only on day 20 of your cycle right now, so it's definitely way too early to rely on a test. As for the nausea and hot flashes, my boyfriend is actually dealing with those exact same things right now 😉 because he caught a virus 😉

Carol Edwards7 said:Well, unfortunately, it’s just not happening for us... at least not for the next 20 days or so. I’m actually thinking about picking up some ovulation predictor kits to try out. Has anyone here ever used them?

Feel free to move over to that other thread; it seems like the perfect place for you all to gather. 😉
slywalker12 said:So, here is my question:
Is there any chance that a pregnancy test (like Clearblue) could show a positive result even if there isn't actually a pregnancy?

I've already mentioned this before, but the answer is no; those tests look specifically for the hormone that only shows up during pregnancy, so while you might get a false negative, you won't get a false positive—so congratulations, you're going to be a dad!
slywalker12 said:So, what exactly is going on this March 16th? I’m a bit lost here... people seem to be mentioning it in several different posts, but I can't quite wrap my head around it...🙂

There are three girls planning to take their tests that day since it happens to be their scheduled day for M. Left
slywalker12 said:I am fully aware that this question has probably been asked a hundred times already...
My period is currently nine days late. On the third day of being late, I took a test—it was negative. Then again on Wednesday, still negative, but then on Friday, it came back positive!
We used Blue Cross tests every time in the evening, since the instructions say you don't necessarily have to wait until the morning.
Is there any actual possibility of getting a positive result when there isn't a pregnancy? I mean, the results changed completely within just two days...
Thank you!

It likely showed negative at first because there wasn't quite enough hormone buildup yet to trigger a positive, especially since you were testing in the afternoon; however, that positive result is almost certainly the real deal, because if that specific hormone—which is tied strictly to pregnancy and a few other extreme conditions—isn't present, you won't see a plus sign. In short, it’s extremely likely that you're pregnant—sorry, I just realized I'm talking to a guy! 🤣
It isn't really about whether you knew better or not; when something like that happens, a wave of panic just hits you, and suddenly you find yourself questioning everything you thought was certain.
She probably already knows, she was likely just double-checking if getting pregnant is actually possible! There's no need to come at her; this forum exists so people can ask questions without feeling ashamed and get some answers instead of a lecture.
