Period talk: Questions and advice in Women's Health ·
Sorry if I shouldn't be starting my own separate thread here, maybe the mods can just move this if it's in the wrong spot, I guess?

So, okay, I'm 22, and my period has been super irregular since I was 13. Like, really weird. There were even two times where I didn't get anything for three whole months, and once it was two months, and then—boom—it just comes back normally. I went to see doctors a few years ago and everything checked out totally fine, no cysts or anything like that. But my cycle is always like 35-40 days... well, I never know exactly because it's almost always late. And oh man, almost every other month I get these absolutely horrific cramps where even Advil or an injection doesn't even touch the pain. It's awful.

My husband and I have been married for a year and a half now. We were being careful until January (well, we were careful before marriage too, haha 🙂), using the withdrawal method, but since January we've actually been trying to make a baby! 🙂
Nothing so far, though. Every single time it’s either a negative test or I just get my period. I got it on Feb 14th, then March 15th, then April 15th. I was honestly so happy that things were finally getting regular, assuming I wasn't pregnant or whatever.

But anyway, today is May 23rd and... nothing. Zilch. I took a test on the 17th and it was negative. 😢
Then last night, I noticed some brownish discharge on the toilet paper and just a little bit on my underwear. I figured, okay, my period is finally here! But so far, there's nothing else, not even a drop.
Last month when I got it, it was so weird—if I hadn't seen it on my underwear, I wouldn't have even known I started, which has never happened in my entire life! I didn't have any pain at all, and it was more brownish than bright red blood.
I thought maybe it was just a false period and that I might actually be pregnant, but nope, it lasted five days just like usual.

I know you can technically have a period while being pregnant, but the test says negative!!
It's negative, but I still haven't gotten my period!
I mean, I know it's probably just stress, or maybe this discharge is just the start of my period, but it's never been like this before, so I have this tiny, tiny glimmer of hope that maybe I am pregnant and the test just isn't showing it yet because it's so early!!!

I know everyone is gonna tell me to just take another test, and okay, fine, I will! But I really wanted some advice or... I don't know, stories from people who've been through this? Because I'm seriously freaking out. I'm scared it'll be harder to get pregnant because my cycles are so irregular—at least that's what I've heard. What do you guys think about that?? And I also read somewhere that brownish discharge right when you expect your period could mean something is up with my ovaries that makes it hard to conceive. 😢

I don't even need to say how much I want a little one. 🙂🙂
Hey everyone!

I'm not totally sure if I'm in the right spot here, but I was wondering... could these crazy cravings be a sign? Like, I have been obsessing over pickled peppers so hard that I basically drove all over town looking for them (but they were nowhere to be found!) and I've just been dreaming about them for like seven days straight. They sound so incredibly good... thank god my husband finally tracked some down for me yesterday. Also, about two weeks ago, I had this massive craving for apple pie that was so intense I just had to bake it myself—I could practically smell it in my nose while it was still rising in the oven...

And oh my gosh, the smells... last night I could smell cheeseburgers right after we were intimate, and today I'm catching whiffs of everything from bakery bread to street tacos just walking through downtown. It's like everything smells like something! And last night, I had this weird taste in my mouth, kind of like canned food or metal, or maybe just sour...
I don't know, maybe I'm just imagining things because we really want a baby. We've been trying for about two months now, though we haven't been having much sex lately because my husband has been under a ton of stress at work, so he hasn't really been in the mood... We actually decided to stop tracking everything and promised not to stress about it and just let it happen when it happens, but honestly, we both want this so badly and would be over the moon if it happened right away.

So, I'm 21 and he's 29, and we've been married for a little over a year. My cycles aren't super regular—they usually come every 35 to 40 days—so I try to guess my fertile window, but it's never really exact. I did miss my period back in November and December, but that's happened once every couple of years before. I saw an OBGYN twice a few years ago and everything was totally fine then.

As for other stuff, my breasts feel swollen, my discharge has a weird scent, and I'm peeing constantly (though I usually pee pretty often anyway). I've never felt anything this intense before, like I'd do literally anything just to have someone bring me what I'm craving, and those smells!

Sorry again if I'm posting this in the wrong place!
Best,
Can stress actually cause weight gain? in Psychology ·
So, okay... I’ve been trying to lose weight for literal years, right? But honestly, no matter what I try, nothing works. It’s actually getting worse—like, the scale just keeps creeping up. I’m avoiding all the junk, I’m really putting in the effort, I swear, but it’s just not happening. The pounds are just piling on.
I heard this thing from someone once—they said there’s actual medical proof that if you’re mentally convinced that you’re gonna gain weight while you're eating, then you actually *will* gain weight. Like, your body just absorbs every single bite because of it. And gosh, I am so obsessed with this idea that I look a certain way that even a glass of water feels like it's making me gain weight, which is just... it's totally killing me mentally!
Is it actually possible that it’s all just in my head? I mean, seriously, there are people out there who eat like crazy, at all hours, zero self-control, and they stay super thin. They aren't constantly stressing about every calorie or how much they'll weigh, they just enjoy their food (which, I guess, is easy when you have a perfect body). So, I guess I'm just wondering... does anyone know if there's any truth to this whole psychological thing?
