Thanks. By the way, what’s actually the difference between those Toshiba Canvio drives and the Canvio Essentials?

Can someone please throw out a recommendation for a basic, best-buy 1TB external 2.5-inch drive? Just looking for something reliable and cheap. Thanks, thanks a million.
New monitors, new resolutions in Computer Peripherals ·
Hey there,

I’ve hit a bit of a wall here. I need some advice on picking up a new monitor at Best Buy with a budget of about $667. I'm stuck wondering if a 24" screen is actually worth the space, or if sticking to something smaller is the smarter move. Brands, specs—I don't know. Any guidance would be appreciated.
Most of my time is spent running standard office software, watching videos, or working in Adobe.

Thanks,

And I have nothing bad to say about this one either. Honestly, I wouldn't bother looking at anything cheaper than this, assuming you can even find anything decent at that price point.🙂 Here is a review for the second option if you want to see the details: CLICK

Thanks a lot. That one from Micro Center will work just fine. 🙂

Just give me some suggestions if you have them. I don't know my limit yet, just nothing absolutely insane. 🙂

Hey everyone. I figured this was a decent place to ask for some advice on finding a reliable UPS. I’m sure there’s a bit of everything floating around here.🙂

Casey Long2 said:Finding a card better than the one with an S-Video port is a tall order. Most hardware featuring S-Video relies on DDR2 memory, which is complete garbage on modern graphics cards. I’ve tracked down a handful of GDDR3 options, but they’re either impossible to find or priced at three times their actual value. Buying new isn't an option here. You either sacrifice TV-out functionality or you give up on decent performance altogether. Your best bet might be hunting through the used market, though even that's proving difficult right now...

Damn. Well, used gear is fine by me. What specific models should I be hunting for?
And what's the play for connecting an old analog TV these days? Does that kind of standard even exist anymore in this universe? 😁

thanks

Hey there. I'm in the market for a new graphics card. Up until now, I’ve been running an ATI Radeon HD 2600 XT AGP (😁) with 256MB of GDDR3, which did the job just fine. But since I finally decided to step into the modern era and picked up a PCI-E board—an ECS P4M890T-M (V2.0)—I need an upgrade. I'm looking for something incredibly cheap, but it can't be a downgrade from my old card. Also, I need TV-Out functionality. My integrated graphics don't have it, so that’s the dealbreaker for me. I assume most cards carry that feature by now?
I'm not much of a gamer. Most of my time is spent messing around with Avid, some basic office stuff, and general multimedia work.
My current power supply is labeled LPE2-23 420 w. I'm assuming it's just some bottom-of-the-barrel junk, so if you think it's unreliable, feel free to suggest a decent replacement. I also have a Codegen 300xx 400w lying around; is that any better?

Thanks.

Just wanted to drop the link for the schedule and the official site for the 5th cultural fair lineup, via Monitor News:

German cinema is represented by M by Fritz Lang (Thursday, 8 PM), French cinema by The Rule of the Game by Jean Renoir (Friday, 8 PM), Italian cinema by Bernard Bertolucci's The Conformist (Saturday, 8 PM), and Czechoslovakian cinema by The Shop on Main Street by Ján Kadár and Elmar Klos (Sunday, 8 PM).
