- People commenting on ☕'s name... why does anyone care how I choose to name my child?
- When checking for a pulse, I put my hand on their abdomen and they just stare at me like I'm being weird 😉
- It’s exhausting having to run to the restroom constantly because the baby is pressing on my bladder 🙂
- Then there are the endless questions about what I'll do with the dog...
- And whether I should pull my older kid out of preschool since I'll be home, supposedly "freeing up a spot" for someone more needy 🙂🙂🙂 - Honestly, I don't get it... I won't be on maternity leave forever 🤷

🙂🙂🙂

🤣🤣 You're just getting under my skin ☕ I know the feeling 🙂
Got a comment today about gender... woman asks me, "Well, maybe they were just wrong?" 🙂🙂
Mark Lopez14 said:Hello everyone 👋

I’m currently twenty-two weeks along. I’ve been lucky enough to dodge the morning sickness and those constant bathroom trips, but unfortunately, I haven't escaped the tingling sensations in my hands. It’s become quite a struggle; I often wake up around 5:00 AM feeling such intense numbness that it’s hard to even touch them—it feels more like a sharp, stinging pain than anything else. Even trying to stretch things out doesn't help; if anything, it just makes the discomfort worse. My husband, Jim, keeps telling me there isn't much to be done and that everything should settle down naturally after the baby arrives...

To be honest, I'm finding it incredibly frustrating when my mother-in-law insists on rubbing my belly, and today, she even went as far as giving it her very first kiss. I was just left 🤷

Squeezing and releasing my fist seems to help a bit 🤷

A neighbor got under my skin today, too. She suggested it was selfish of me to keep working until the very end instead of stopping now 🙂🙂🙂
I guess she thinks I should just wait for complications to arise, even though everything is fine so far... 🤷☕

My neighbor told me yesterday, "Well, I guess there'll be a third one too." I don't buy it. It immediately drives me crazy. I start acting like Ally McBeal... just driving her insane 🙂... 🙂

I almost asked her if she felt less valued than her husband does... ☕
Kimberly Phillips6 said:The question "so, what are you going to do about the dog?" 🙂

This really gave me a good laugh... I am in the exact same boat, currently hitting that 20-week mark myself. 😁

I actually gave that same answer to some old lady on the street once—told her, "Well, where else would I go? To a chili cook-off." ☕ She just stared at me and hurried away... 🤣

Right now, it's just the frustration of wanting to do absolutely nothing but sleep, yet being unable to... 🙂

This is my second pregnancy, and since we already have one little girl, it looks like we’re adding another daughter to the mix. The commentary from people around us—most of whom don't even have kids themselves—is just relentless. It’s always something: "Oh, you'll have to have a third now," or "As long as they're healthy, right?" or the classic, "Again, a girl? Man, we were so lucky, our first was a boy."🙄

I genuinely cannot wrap my head around their logic. I don't understand where this sudden urge to "pity" us comes from, especially since, truth be told, I was secretly hoping for another girl. My husband was the one leaning toward having a son, so if anyone's disappointed, it's him—but these comments are getting exhausting.🙂

🤣🤣😂😂
I have one daughter too, and I'm hoping for another girl this time...😍
A week before I gave birth, my neighbor asked me what I was having. I told her, "A girl." She just looked at me, patted me on the head, and said, "And what of it?"☕ 🙂
Dana Brown8 said:So, I’m grabbing coffee with a friend—I’m only seven weeks along—and she decides this is the perfect moment to recount her second pregnancy experience. She tells me how her water broke at six months and she spent the rest of the term stuck in the hospital. Thankfully, everything turned out fine and she has a healthy little girl now.
I actually told her four separate times to please spare me the horror stories, especially since I'm just starting out, but she simply wouldn't listen. She finishes her grim tale only to hit me with: "Well, I'm sure that won't happen to you." 🙂
The nausea is driving me crazy, and I’m hungry all the time, yet I have absolutely no idea what I actually want to eat.
By the way, I think I'll handle this pregnancy differently than my first; back then, I was much more polite about people's unsolicited advice.
This time around, I’ll probably be a bit more grouchy, seeing as the "you should" and "you shouldn't" comments have already started rolling in.
It’s enough to drive a person mad... and we're barely even getting started. 🙂

I second this. I'm nauseous whether I'm hungry or not, whether I eat or don't eat, whether I drink something or don't... 🙂🙂 It's exhausting.
It's annoying having to carry around little bags for vomiting in my purse. 🙂
It's annoying when I feel like I'm throwing up even though my stomach is empty and nothing comes up. 🙂
Come to think of it, everything is just irritating right now. 😂
It’s getting old... this constant ad for H&R Block or whatever it is popping up every other time I open this forum🙂🙂
It irritates me when people register on this forum just to claim they were right under their old handle☕
...
It’s also incredibly aggravating having to run to the restroom constantly. Now that the baby is dropping, I can’t even go for a decent walk without worrying if there's a bathroom nearby. 🤣

Then, some random old lady stops me at the grocery store and asks what I'm carrying. I tell her it's my daughter, and she just stares at me and goes, "Oh, well, so what?" Honestly, I had to fight every urge not to deck her right there in the aisle. ☕
Yesterday, I had some "mom" decide my garage entrance was her personal spot 🙄—blocking it so badly she couldn't even fully open her doors. I’d just pulled in from work, ready to park, and of course, I told her she couldn't just sit there blocking us in. 😕 😕 She just gave me this blank stare and snapped, "I have kids with me!" 😠😠😠

Fine. If you're out with kids, why didn't you just use the designated parking spots? ☕ There was plenty of room available, but apparently, walking an extra few feet wasn't worth the effort... 🙏

It irritates me that people only move once you threaten to call parking enforcement 😁 and force them to haul the kids out and line them up against a wall while she goes to find somewhere else to park. 😂 Eventually, she settled for a spot about ten feet down the street. 😂.. Honestly, I wouldn't be surprised if when they come back from their walk, she parks right in front of the garage again just so the kids don't have to walk those extra few steps. 🤣
Honestly, these husbands are getting on my nerves lately 😁 because if mine acted like this, he’d have been tossed out the window ages ago 😂 (and we're on the 4th floor ☕)
...
Honestly, your husbands are getting on my nerves lately🙂🙂... if mine acted like that, he’d be flying out the window in a heartbeat😂
Jesse Evans85 said:This sounds eerily similar to my mother-in-law. She had two babies under her roof—one breastfed, one not. Well, the non-breastfed one started solid foods much earlier, whereas the breastfed one hadn't even started yet. And let me tell you, listening to the theories she was spinning—claiming the little one was "frail" and needed things like bits of ham or just dipping their fingers in grease to "get used to flavors"—was enough to make my head spin.😲
I am 100% certain that if I leave my child alone with her for even a minute, she’ll be shoving sugar, honey, or whatever else is off-limits right into the baby's mouth.🤮
That’s why I’ve realized the only way to keep my sanity is to ensure neither she nor my own mother is left unsupervised with the baby for even a second. There’s no other way; if I tell them no, they’ll nod and agree to my face, but the moment I turn my back, they'll go ahead and cause some kind of trouble.

I came to the exact same conclusion. That's just how she acts, even with our dog... one look from the pup and she decides it's starving, and the second we turn our heads, the poor thing has already scavenged something she shouldn't have.🙄
That’s why I can’t trust leaving the baby with her for even an hour or two. She’d probably feed the kid anything and everything just because if the baby is awake or crying, she’ll assume it's hungry...🤷

Pregnant women are never satisfied...🙂 either we're overbearing or we don't care enough.😂
Jesse Evans85 said:😂😂😂 Honestly, I can't laugh at you—I have to laugh at your mother-in-law and these ridiculous ideas she's coming up with!
My own mother had similar notions! She actually bought a massive king-sized bed thinking my child could just sleep right between her and my dad! 😲 🙄 And if I refused, she'd argue there wouldn't even be room in the bedroom for a separate crib! 🤣
The logic some people use is just baffling.
The worst part of all of this is that no matter what I say, I'm always the one being labeled as "too nervous," "unstable," or whatever else. Somehow, I'm always the problem. So perhaps your husband is right—it might be better not to even comment on such nonsense. You just end up getting worked up while they couldn't care less.

Since he’s already tuned out her outbursts😉 I haven't quite reached that level of indifference yet🤣 though I suspect I'll get there soon😂

She also asked if the car seat we bought would actually fit in their vehicle for their trip down to Florida, or if they should just buy a different one...😂😂

It would almost be funny if she weren't being dead serious about all this.🤣
She’s already mapped out every single meal for the first month, deciding she needs a high-end food processor because heaven forbid the baby eats anything that isn't perfectly pureed.😂😂

You’d think she’s never even dealt with a child before...😕
My mother-in-law is driving me up the wall right now. She acts like this baby belongs to her instead of me and my husband... They just bought a portable crib because they’re already planning for when the little one stays over at their place. 🤷 🤷
She even had the nerve to suggest the baby should spend the first month sleeping at their house constantly, supposedly so I can "rest and recover." ☕
And then there's my husband. He reacts to all of this like she hasn't said a word... 🙄 He just tells me to stop complaining and change the subject.
Bryan Diaz said:Oh, yeah, people have asked me the exact same thing—what am I going to do about the dogs. And honestly, what am I supposed to do? We’ll just get them used to the baby, and that’ll be that—it's a two-way street where the little one will have to learn to live with them, too. Besides, I truly believe it’s healthier for a child to grow up around dogs. My husband and I didn't even give it a second thought, really.

We started our parenting class last week, and some guy actually asked how to get his Boxer used to a newborn. The visiting nurse basically told him he should just find someone else to take the dog... 🙄 🙄

Honestly, asking "what will you do with the dog" is just a mindless question. What am I supposed to do with it? Turn it into a stew? ☕ (Maybe I'll say that to the next person who asks...)🙂
Bryan Diaz said:identically !!!
Though, I suppose that first line—"You'll see!"—can apply to all sorts of things too, like sleeping arrangements, going out on the town, money, and so on.

True enough... though lately, people have been riding my back about sleep...
At this point, I can only reach one conclusion for when I have a kid:
- I might as well chain myself to the house because I’m never stepping foot outside again
- I'll be sharing a bed with the baby while my husband is stuck in the living room since he'll be working
- I'll lose touch with my old friends who don't have kids
- I won't leave Washington, D.C., let alone head to the coast (I think I'll go, but we'll see...🤣 )
- I'll end up giving away the dog (I know, that'll probably trigger some backlash 🙂🙂 )
Just you wait! 😲 😲 😲

As if we’re somehow getting some tiny little monster or whatever... If I said the baby is going to sleep in their own crib from day one, then that’s exactly what’s happening. It’s not like: "Oh, just wait until they're sleeping in your bed after two days!" Those kinds of comments drive me insane 😵😵😵
