Taylor Kelly2, how much did that baker charge you for the copper cake??
I honestly have no clue what a thing like that would even run me...

You'll definitely find everything you're looking for there—as long as it comes in your favorite color 😁

Jack Lee5, I’m honestly so sorry you didn't manage to find anything 😢
Were you ever actually in Vigus?

Jason Jackson4 said:Trust me on this—you really need about two pounds per person if you're feeding a group of six. My mom has been hosting these kinds of gatherings for years, and she always swears by that ratio. That way, everyone gets a full plate, and there’s always enough left over. Some people go through it faster than others, but you always end up with plenty to either put together a nice platter for the next day or just send home with the rest of the family. Honestly, I’d much rather have an extra few pounds sitting in the fridge than look at a bunch of empty plates. That's just how I see it. 😉
I’m looking at having about 85 or 90 pounds of food ready to go for a crowd of roughly 250 people. I'll also need to prep an extra twenty pounds or so for the house, since we’re expecting a fair amount of folks dropping by both before the main event and the day after. 😁

So, get my math there—about one pound for every twelve people.
We were thinking around 175 pounds of desserts for 250 guests—enough for the reception hall, the treats at my place and my partner's, and little gift bags for everyone to take home.
(I guess math isn't exactly my strongest suit... 😉)
As for cakes, we were planning on eight standard ones plus the wedding cake—is that enough?

Maybe we won't actually need that much dessert, I'll see once I sit down with the caterer, but for now, that's the plan.

Jason Jackson4 said:It really depends on where you’re ordering from, but honestly, the sooner the better just to make sure they have you on their radar. As for the pastry math, a good rule of thumb is usually one plate for every six people—basically, aim for about a pound of sweets for every six guests.

That much dessert??? I heard somewhere that you only need a pound for every twelve people...☕
Well, now you know.🤷

Angela Martin2, get this sorted out ASAP.
I called the bakery lady three days ago to book us for June 30th, 2012, and she said we caught her at just the right time because things are getting crazy. She mentioned she can only handle about 1,000 guests per weekend or something like that, so she told us to come by during the Christmas season to hammer out all the details while the workload is lighter... 😁

Does anyone know an ultra-reliable dry cleaner in Indianapolis? I need to get a formal dress cleaned, but I'm terrified they'll ruin it (it’s my mom’s dress that basically became mine after midnight 😍)

Taylor Kelly2, do you happen to know if they have those T-type screws for sale in Harkar? I totally forgot to ask when I was there, and now I’m stuck without them. At General Dynamics, they only have $23 about 50 pieces, but I really need 250 🙂

Taylor Kelly2, what can I even say... I've only managed to pass one exam in the last two years, and honestly, I had prepared for it three years ago because it was such a breeze.
It’s all because of work, too... I spent my entire life being dragged to these endless corporate training seminars instead of actually studying... and now, after three years of grinding, they aren't even renewing my contract...
If I had just focused on school, I'd probably be finished by now....🙂

Ugh... I know exactly how you feel...
College is absolutely killing me too 😢 I guess everything will just work itself out eventually...😉

Robin Chase7, thanks a million.
That’s exactly what I was thinking, but I just needed someone to tell me I wasn't crazy... 😁

So, come on, give me the scoop—how’s married life treating you?😍

Question?
I’m thinking about ordering a dress from Lilly / Sally, but I can't help wondering if I'm getting ahead of myself... since the big day isn't until June 30th, 2012.
I'm such a nervous wreck...
I’m honestly terrified to order anything this early—what if my weight fluctuates? I tend to go through those phases where I suddenly drop weight or put it back on; it’s never a massive shift, maybe just a few pounds, but still...
And then there's the other side of the fear: what if I wait too long to order, the fit ends up being wrong, and I don't have enough time to rent something else instead...🤣

I'm not sure where you're based, but... you can find that stuff at a Home Depot in Indianapolis, though they'll charge you an arm and a leg. You could also look around the Midwest or even grab it online if you don't want to deal with the hassle.
how much tile are you planning on using for one heavy layer?

Better late than never, I guess... dealing with some major internet issues 😢
I hit up the trade show earlier—absolute disaster from start to finish... Really hoping January isn't going to be just as much of a mess ☕

Mine really went after him—he’s going to be dealing with this again in January. He skipped it last year because he was busy working, but this year he’s definitely going to get hit twice as hard.😉
Though, I have to say, it actually looks like he's interested (if you can even call it that...) 😍

Thanks 😁
Nice, I'm going to head out and grab some inspiration... Hopefully there will be enough exhibitors 🤷

Wait, where exactly? I was reading online that it was January 14th and 15th, 2012, over at the Hotel Osijek. Now I'm just feeling a little lost... 🤷
