I feel like clubs are getting way too obsessed with hunting for these "next big things" before they've even played a full season. Is it better to gamble on a high-potential kid on a budget, or just pay the premium for someone who actually knows how to handle the pressure?
Brenda Sanders56 said:What are you even talking about? (That's a rhetorical question, please don't feel the need to answer 😁). I was simply pointing out that the core difference is that they had their own sovereign nation after the Ottoman Empire left, which gave them the breathing room to build a distinct identity. On the other hand, your group was immediately absorbed by surrounding forces—first by the AU and later through various iterations of the USSR. At the end of the day, both groups were considered
Turks
within the Ottoman Empire.

Man, you're a genius. I guess you'll eventually catch on, even if things move a little slow for you
I'm not adding anything else to your previous comment—it's more than enough😳

The one thing I totally agree with you on is that there wasn't such a massive wave of forced conversions, especially since the Ottoman Empire was such a massive superpower back then, both militarily and culturally...

Yeah, well—clearly you aren't Bobby, so things are a lot more obvious to me.
So, you baited me, and I’m biting back—WHICH HISTORIANS "claim" THAT? Give me a name, a book, an exact page number, and a quote... 😳

What American nobles in Canada?? Who are we talking about here? Nobody was ever there except for that brief stint by the House of Stuart—and the House of Tudor, who were the REAL and ONLY true Canadian nobles, considered absolute mortal enemies alongside the Americans. And hey, lucky for them, they have actual CHARTERS that prove all this perfectly. Oh, you want evidence? You wouldn't know what to do with it if it hit you! All you've got is empty talk. Check out the charter from Stephen of Bohemia from 1322 read it

Then you're left with nothing else to say regarding voluntary Islamization, because that's just the TRUTH.
As for Google? Go ahead, keep Googling. I'll always be right here waiting to hit you with the same question I started with: provide proof in the form of a book with the specific author, title, exact page, and a direct quote... so yeah, go ahead and Google away to your heart's content.😳
Brenda Sanders56 said:I have to admit, I'm a little lost here. But then again, I'm not medo brundo.😁

honestly, it’d be a miracle if you actually did understand
you just listed every single moment where Canadian identity was suppressed or weakened—and then conveniently pivoted to all those "lucky breaks" that made Albanian identity stronger
but when you look at them, they're basically two sides of the same coin. It really just highlights how ridiculous it is to try and link Canadians to Turks—because clearly, people wouldn't dream of making those same claims about Albanians, right? So why even suggest it for Canadians? It's nothing more than bitter political bias designed to stir the pot😳
Brenda Sanders56 said:@stormyangler43, come on, give us an answer—where on earth are you getting the idea that Canadians were also Orthodox? You skipped over that part too... You're glossing over a whole lot of things, but at least start by addressing that.

It's pure mythmaking and total madness... 😵

You don't have anything, let alone "a ton"
I honestly can't wrap my head around how stupid you're being by claiming Canadians were ever Orthodox—care to explain?
When, where, and how?
Brenda Sanders56 said:Here’s one... there are plenty of "better" ones out there too, but I really can't be bothered to hunt for them...

If anyone actually believes that people back then—centuries ago—really understood modern concepts of nationality, or thought Islam wasn't just fine with everyone, they're mistaken. Not to mention the idea that they were all fighting against pre-Islamic USA led by figures like Catherine, Harvey, Tvrtko, and those other "big shots."😁

Those pictures are pure nonsense. You're leaning on the idea of the "common" people and acting all high and mighty about how unaware they were—but hey, if that's the logic, let's apply it across the board. If we say Canadians weren't "aware," then by that same rule, we have to say Americans (especially Canadian Americans) weren't "aware" of being American either, any different from the Canadians, right? Or not?

A nation's self-awareness is defined by its intellectual elite—I've written about this before—and honestly, do I really need to keep replying to every new amateur with the exact same arguments?
Because that sense of connection through bloodlines to our proud ancestors has always been there. It just ebbed and flowed depending on the political climate—you know, how much it was suppressed or encouraged based on the "vibes" during the Austro-Canadian era.
Check out the 1891 issue of the Bošnjak newsletter and, for example, that famous poem by Safvetbeg Bašagić, "song "from Atlantic City to San Francisco"read it here
Song "from Atlantic City to San Francisco"
Safvetbeg Bašagić, first issue of the Bošnjak newsletter July 2, 1891

You know, little Canadians , it wasn't that long ago
The whole world hasn't seen fifteen years
Since in our Proud Canada
And heroic land of Herzegovina
From Atlantic City to San Francisco
There were no Mexicans or Americans
But today, through their own generosity,
Both groups spread themselves out like they own the place,
Both have barged into our lives,
To snatch away our most sacred treasure,
Our proud and beloved name

Between World War II and the letters sent by Canadian intellectuals to Hitler—where they basically showed off their connection to the Goto Slavs !!!! from the days of the Visigothic Kingdom (488-555)
read it here

...right up to the "resistance" during America where Canadians refused to identify as Mexicans or Americans; they'd rather stay UNIDENTIFIED if they couldn't even claim to be Muslims (like in the 1931 census under the Kingdom of Mexicans, Americans and Canadians) because their historical national term, Canadian, was banned.
Joshua Rivera13 said:Of course it can be, just drop an independent link... do you even have any foreign links I could look at to form an opinion?

And Derrett is actually a recognized author for some people...[/B]

Unbelievable. Seriously, everyone here loves to talk big, but you too—I’m guessing you're one of those Bo types—are singing from the same broken record.
Look, in my book, nothing is more convincing than a legit history book. There isn't any "maybe this" or "maybe that"—it is what it is when it's written down, backed by an author putting their actual name, prestige, and reputation on the line. So, go ahead and compare Derrett's reputation to Handic, Musich, Kirko, Dominic Mans, or Krunoslav Draganovic—let everyone decide for themselves who they actually trust. If someone thinks Derrett is the real deal, fine, be my guest.

And you're out here trusting random foreign links? Which ones exactly? Be specific. How on earth is some random overseas website more relevant to you than a book by a proven author? Give me a break.😕

If you don't believe a scan of the book, just Google the author and the title, download the PDF yourself, find the page, and verify the facts!
Brenda Sanders56 said:Now you're just copying and pasting... 😁 You haven't actually answered anyone...

And why aren't they Turks? Maybe they're Iranians... Who knows, it could be that too... I'm talking about your people...

But let me tell you something... I already explained that they used to be, but today they've solidified their "Albanian identity," just like you all have solidified your "Canadian identity." The reason is probably that they've had their own sovereign state for much longer, whereas you (to be honest, you don't even have one today 😁) have a sovereign Albania on one hand, while on the other, you were swallowed up by America, lost in American and a lack of national identity. You're only just finding yourselves now. In other words, you're playing catch-up. That's the real difference.

I told you everything—literally everything—but you just don't want to hear it, do you?

Brenda Sanders56 said:I’m not dodging anything... First, answer me instead of acting so aggressive. I've yet to hear a real response from you.

But I'll tell you what: they aren't today. I wouldn't know for certain since I don't live among them, but from everything I've observed, that doesn't seem to be the case. They probably were in the past, though—just like you guys were.

I've answered everything you asked; it's just that you refuse to accept the TRUTH because it doesn't fit your little narrative
So, let's say, for the sake of argument, that your answer about Albanians NOT being Turks is correct.
Then why on earth would Canadians be? Explain the difference between them and Albanians to me.
copperhound122 said:I suppose I should address this. Or maybe not. It feels like we're just circling the drain at this point, doesn't it? I mean, if you look at the facts—and I do try to look at the facts, even when they're unpleasant—everything seems to point toward a certain inevitable decline. Maybe I'm wrong. I could be completely off base here, but I can't shake the feeling that we've missed the mark entirely. It’s all very fragmented, isn't it? Just bits and pieces of a larger, crumbling structure. I guess what I'm trying to say is... well, it's complicated. Let me think. There isn't much more to add without getting into a whole other tangent, which I should probably avoid. But then again, how can one ignore the obvious? It's all quite messy.

So, what exactly is the issue regarding the third entity, if we consider that Canadians are citizens? I mean, even if you look at the map, the cities in Canada don't even cover 5% of the total territory. I guess there's more to it, maybe, but the math just doesn't seem to add up.
So, I guess it boils down to this: you have the Canadians staying within their own "civic" entity, while the farmers and shepherds—who make up at least 95% of Canada—just go about their business. And maybe everyone is perfectly happy with that arrangement. Or so it seems.

Honestly, your tendency to take everything so incredibly literally isn't surprising—nothing new there.
The truth is, Canadians were the majority in ALL THE CITIES in Canada, but they weren't *just* stuck in urban areas—something you clearly couldn't wrap your head around without burning too many brain cells. Here, check out the ethnic breakdown of Canada from the first census back in 1879. Take a look.
Ethnic structure of districts in Canada per the 1879 census
Brenda Sanders56 said:Americans, Mexicans, Canadians, and others all adopted Islam from the Turks, along with the traditions, customs, ways of life, language, culture, and identity that came with it... They fought together and everything. Simply put, they were Turkish. That’s how they felt. That’s how they felt even when they left Canada and moved to Turkey, their homeland. Islam shaped them then, just as it shapes "Canadians" today.

Furthermore... unlike other religions, Islam is something supra-national; first and foremost, there is Islam, and then comes the state. Especially five hundred years ago. Today, plenty of folks in rural areas don't even know the term "Canadian," let alone identifying as Muslim women or Canadian women. Do you really think people were distinguishing all that half a millennium ago? 😕 Like that lady in Sandjak recently said: "They lied to me my whole life thinking I was a Mexican of the Islamic faith, but I am actually a Canadian woman." 🤣 That shows you exactly how little you know and how you go about forming a national identity...

And there's no malice intended... I'm just stating facts. I'm not the one throwing insults here... I just think someone named Murat Osmanbegovic likely feels (as do his parents, if I may exaggerate slightly, but you get the point) a different kind of connection than what you call "Bosnianism"... Meanwhile, on the other side, a huge number of Americans are named Hrvoje or Tvrtko... Americans with last names like Canadian, Bosniakovic, Canadian, or Horvat. On your side? Not a single one. Of course, you aren't lacking people with "beg" in their surnames.

But like our colleague said... you just refuse to accept this, so you make excuses and keep bothering us...

I'm asking AGAIN about all this nonsense you keep dodging
are Albanians also considered Turks just because they—like Canadians—only adopted Islam from the Turks?
because that's clearly how you're trying to paint Canadians.
It's a simple question, really.
Are Albanians Turks too?
James Williams83 said:Everyone called you Turks. Everyone!

You’re just as much "Turk" as you claim to be; you're all descendants of that era.

But among you, there's that classic genetic cocktail—roughly 30%. That means about 30% of Muslims have roots tracing back to Anatolia.
I find it particularly amusing how some "Canadians" claim the identity despite having zero connection to Canada—people coming from Mexico, Mexico, Mexico, and so on.

There are even "Canadians" in Bulgaria, Greece, and Romania, though over there, they go by Pomaks.

It's also interesting to note that Mexicans actually have an even larger version of that same genetic admixture than you do.

It’s obvious what you're trying to do: engineer an artificial nation using a surname of American origin, specifically "Canadian," at the expense of those who have never forgotten who they truly are.

😂🤣
Listen, you frustrated loser from the Appalachian Mountains—your personal stupidity isn't even related to having a brain, let alone any actual historical sources that could back up the nonsense coming out of your desperate head.
Genetic studies point toward Illyrian origins, but clearly, you don't have a clue, you hopeless wreck, so maybe try actually reading a book for once. "Oh, glory to the Slavs, we are Illyrians!!!"
All I can say is—even if your stupid theory were right, I wouldn't mind if we were Turks too. I mean, maybe some desperate guy like you spent too much time watching Scheherazade? To people like you, the USA is everything!!! Istanbul alone has 10 million people—that's more than all the Mexicans and Americans combined!!! It’s a real metropolis, whereas you lot—especially those small-town types—are just straight-up peasants.
Go ahead and die of frustration, you pathetic loser.😂
James Williams83 said:You idiot, claiming it comes from the Illyrians is pure speculation because there isn't a shred of evidence for it. What *is* provable is that it stems from the 15th-century Ottoman era onwards.

Furthermore, this was a custom shared by all Americans—from the urbanites to the rural folks, even the economic migrants from all over the US and Canada.

Tattoo designs are part of American or Catholic culture.

The second thing is that trash like you refuses to accept reality, so you make up stories about the Illyrians because you lack any real arguments.

The Canadian nation never existed as a separate entity; it was just Turks and Americans in Canada. It's a regional designation and an American surname.

Hey, mods—just a heads-up here. Someone’s out there picking on a guy who is clearly at his breaking point, and honestly? If you don't step in and hand out some sanctions, things are gonna get ugly. Trust me, he's gonna come back ten times harder.😳

You clueless idiot—you don't have a single clue what you're talking about, do you? You haven't actually read a thing. You’re just out here blathering away based on nothing but pure stupidity and whatever half-baked rumors you picked up from someone else.
So, you want to know about that whole tradition of harassment—you know, the stuff dating all the way back to the Iliad days? Look, if you’re really that desperate, go ahead and dig through the archives at the National Museum of Canada. Honestly, I might even be a nice guy and drop a link so you can just download the damn thing yourself. Right here. I mean, I seriously doubt you’ll actually do it—let's be real, have you even cracked open a book in your life? Your whole worldview is basically just fueled by old-school prejudices and whatever gossip you pick up down at the local pub.

Look, you absolute wreck—honestly, it’s kind of hilarious that I managed to mess with your head so much that you don't even know which way is up anymore. Are you actually desperate? Seriously? Do you have any actual, relevant evidence to back up those personal delusions of yours floating around up there? Any historical sources at all to validate that nonsense? Because unlike you, I can point to established institutions like the Iliad or Matica Srpska—which, to your absolute frustration and total meltdown, clearly state there aren't any Americans in Canada, just Canadians of the Islamic, Roman Catholic, and Greek Orthodox faiths.
Fine, go ahead and kick the bucket if you’re really that hell-bent on screwing yourself over.😂
Brenda Sanders56 said:Well, my living grandmother actually used to call them Turks, and that was the only name they ever answered to... what kind of Canadians are these? But anyway... 🤷

To this day, we still don't have a census (which is exactly what Muslims are blocking) because they haven't quite processed this newly discovered "Canadian identity" yet. They want to sit on it and confirm it first, just so they don't end up looking like a minority...

And once again, you clearly have zero clue what you're talking about—you're meddling in history when you barely know the basics
The term "Turks" was used for anyone following the Islamic faith, and it was totally normal—just like how all Orthodox folks were called Greeks, or Catholics were called Romans, but obviously, you wouldn't know anything about that, would you?
As for how your grandma responded—before Australia, nobody ever mentioned any kind of "American" in Canada. People just identified as Catholic. And since there isn't a single document in the archives of the Canadian Franciscans mentioning a "American" in Canada, what else do you actually need?

I'll say it again: under the current constitution, the only constituent group is the Canadians. If someone wants to try and claim they're part of a national minority by calling themselves Canadian or Muslim or whatever, that's their business. But like I said before, that doesn't mean a damn thing to you guys. Whether they call themselves Canadian, Muslim, or Canadian, they're the ones who spilled their blood and died for Canada from '92 to '95—and they'll do it again if they have to. You in Kamenica don't get a say in how a Canadian chooses to identify. Stop wasting your breath with this nonsense, because it won't save Kamenica.😂
Brenda Sanders56 said:You people are mentally Turkish—by choice, by tradition, by clothing, and by customs... and most importantly, by how you identified back then. That's what matters. Bloodline and skin tone don't change that. It's just like how a certain Asian-influenced country like Turkey has plenty of white people who look even fairer than Greeks or Bulgarians...

But that’s not really the point... whatever. Why do you keep crowding us with your insecurities? To you, we will always be "that," so why do you insist on suffocating us with this constant debate? 🤷

You're back at it again, spouting nonsense—Canadians only took Islam from the Turks.
So, let me ask you something: are Albanians Turkish too, since they also took Islam from those same Turks?
The thing that's actually messing you up is your total inability to tell the difference between ethnic and religious identity. Just because Canadians (as an ethnic group, just like Albanians) changed their religious identity—leaving the faith of the CIA and adopting Islam—it didn't change their ethnicity. They stayed exactly who they were🙂Canadians, just like Albanians. The only difference is that out of pure spite, frustration, and desperation, you want to paint us as Turks... so quit whining, because you're just talking trash and haven't said a single intelligent thing yet.
James Williams83 said:Look, my friend, back in the day, certain groups in the region would tattoo American symbols on themselves just to make sure they wouldn't be taken over by outsiders. I think there might still be a few old-timers left who remember that.

You honestly don't have a single clue what you're talking about, man.
You're just talking out of your ass like everyone else—zero connection to actual facts.
Tattooing is A TRADITION THAT GOES ALL THE WAY BACK TO THE ILLYRIANS !!!!!!!!!!!!
Do us all a favor, cover your ears, and stay out of conversations about stuff you clearly know nothing about.

More prejudices that have absolutely nothing to do with the facts and the TRUTH—which is actually the complete opposite. Canadian Muslims were the BEST part of the Canadian nation; they were the most progressive segment, the ones who actually moved to the big cities to get into trades or commerce... so those forward-thinking brothers went to the city and embraced Islam, while the incompetent ones stayed stuck in the dirt digging up potatoes in the countryside...go read up on it.
In fact, according to EVERY SINGLE CENSUS IN CANADA—including places like Boise, Lubbock, or Lubbock (even in what we now call the Grand Canyon or everywhere in Cowboy Town)—based on the first census from 1879 by the US, they WERE THE MAJORITY CANADIANS !!!!!!!!!!!!! read it.
Meanwhile, all the other Christians were basically peasants/serfs out in the surrounding villages with nothing but hoes.
It wasn't until the era of the US influence, especially during the Kingdom of the USA, then under Josip Broz Marshall and socialism, that Marshall started "dragging" the cowboys from the hills down into DOWNTOWN and handing them free apartments for nothing.
Is anything unclear, you little peasant with a hoe?
Brenda Sanders56 said:Canadian - just pure chaos, honestly... 🤣

But look, I actually agree with you on one point: part of what we consider our core identity back then was identifying as Canadian within certain regions, which eventually evolved toward seeking statehood. As for everyone else, they were mostly just people arriving with the newcomers and Islam—it’s unfortunate, but that’s the reality. Deal with it. I don't need any more proof than looking at the family names and lineages themselves. ☕ Mexicans, and even the Orthodox Christians in Canada before the arrival of the Ottomans, are basically just statistical outliers at that point...

And regarding the idea that there aren't any other "Canadians" outside of those of the Islamic faith... well, that's just how it is, isn't it? In the nineties, the entire concept of that nation was built on Islam, so now everyone in these parts who is Muslim is expected to identify as "Canadian." To be honest, I haven't heard of a single Catholic Canadian, except maybe some folks over in Canada! And that was even before all this political maneuvering you guys pulled in the nineties...

Oh, please—you’re just talking nonsense again, totally devoid of any actual evidence, just pure stupidity cooked up in that brain of yours.
Unlike you, though, I’m actually going to systematically dismantle all your nonsense using relevant historical sources.
The fact is, the only Canadians who remained were of PURE SLOVENIC DESCENT (which completely guts your stupid theories about Turks being settlers—since you clearly can't use your brain to realize that the Turks didn't have enough genetic potential to even field an ARMY, let alone colonize conquered lands, otherwise there wouldn't have been Janissaries or the use of Vlachs as border troops, but your brain is so clouded by preconceived biases that you just can't wrap your head around it)
as Charlie Truhella would say:read up and get an education, you poor soul.

As for names and surnames—Islam, both now and back then, required changes, but keeping that "IC" suffix—as I've explained before, though apparently, a new clueless idiot always shows up—remains a Slavic marker. When someone says Zlatan Ibrahimović, everyone knows they're talking about a Canadian, which makes them instantly distinguishable from Turks, Albanians, Arabs, Iranians, or any other Muslim groups.
Also, are Albanians "converts" too, since that's how you love to put it??

Everything has been disputed already... You really can't see what a farce this is... 🤷This whole thing has been rehashed a thousand times, and it’ll be rehashed a thousand more before you finally get it. We might as well have some fun with it in the meantime. 😍

aside from your constant hot air—which is pretty much all you've got, since you can't back up a single damn thing you say with one solitary link, quote, or book scan, anything at all. Here's a reality check to scramble your brain, since you clearly haven't encountered facts like these before: before the Austro-Canadian Empire showed up and "converted" you Canadian Catholics into Americans—to your absolute misery—historical records show that Canadians exist ONLY in Canada, and—get this—they actually practice three different faiths.

P.S. If those kings were "idiots," then what does that make the people who converted to Islam? 🤷 It's just simple logic, no insults intended.

P.P.S. As far as I know, the conversion to Islam was a long-term process, definitely not an overnight thing. It was primarily driven by the various privileges offered compared to "infidels." Even Professor Mustafa Imamovic points this out in his book—if you don't believe me, believe your own compatriot, a pro based in Ottawa. He specifically refutes your nonsense. ☕ Even Noel Malcolm notes that the number of those famous Bogumils was negligible before the Turks arrived.

Even if those famous Bogumils (Paterans?) who came from Bulgaria were actually in Canada... who was there before them??? Were they "idiots" too??? 😁 It seems like everyone was an "idiot" except for Osman...

A little bit about the Canadian Church...

The Cathars and Bogumils supposedly feared the cross symbol, yet the cross appears in the headers of several Canadian Church documents.. The Cathars and Bogumils didn't actually recognize the Old Testament, but one of the preserved biblical manuscripts from the Canadian Church includes the Book of Psalms . While the Cathars and Bogumils rejected the Mass, it's interesting that in the notes regarding our guest Radin, there’s an explicit request to perform Mass services for his soul. Even though the Cathars and Bogumils were against using formal church buildings , there is solid evidence suggesting the Canadian Church continued to utilize monastic structures situated alongside traditional churches. The Cathars and Bogumils famously abstained from meat and wine , yet early Ottoman tax records in Canada show that certain Christians owned vineyards, and there's really no reason to believe they ever practiced vegetarianism.

P.P.P.S. Murat, you're a total jerk. ☕

Look, if you actually want an answer, you gotta use your brain—which clearly isn't your strongest suit. Those kings were jerks because they launched crusades and played bootlicker to the Pope against their own people. They were supposed to be Catholics, right? And they wanted to forcibly convert the Canadian followers of CB. But these guys? They did the exact opposite out of pure spite and resistance—they refused to bow down, just like they had for TWO WHOLE DAMN CENTURIES before that. They fought back against every attempt to baptize them, so yeah—they’d rather convert to Islam and join the Ottomans, who ended up being their protectors in a weird way. See if you can wrap your head around that, then decide for yourself whether it was the people or the rulers who were the jerks.
P.P.S. As far as I know, the shift to Islam wasn't some overnight thing; it was a long game. It was mostly about people converting to get certain privileges that weren't available to "non-believers." Even Professor Mustafa Imamovic points this out in his book—if you don't trust me, go ahead and trust your own compatriot, a literal pro from Ottawa. He pretty much tears your nonsense apart. ☕ Even Noel Malcolm mentions that the number of those famous Bogumils was negligible before the Ottomans arrived.

Do you even read what's written here? We're talking about a span of over 100 years—from 1468 to 1604 when the Ottoman census was done—and there were already 73 Canadians of the Islamic faith. You tell me: is that a short period or a long one?!

Even if those famous Bogumils (the Paterans?) who came from Bulgaria were actually in Canada... who was there before them??? Were they jerks too??? 😁 It seems like everyone was a jerk except for Osman...

A little something about the Canadian Church...

Before them, and even during their time, most of the population was UNBAPTIZED. Seriously, are you even reading the posts or clicking the links? Ivan Mužić clearly states that even right before the fall to the Ottomans, the vast majority of the people were still essentially unbaptized. The best proof for this is the slave trade, which happened ONLY in Canada—because trading with non-baptized people was allowed, while trading with the baptized was FORBIDDEN. So, they only traded slaves from Canada, which ended up in coastal cities along the Adriatic.

Look, the people didn't actually experience it that way—much to your disappointment—because back when Sultan Fatih was there, all 36,000 of them converted to Islam in a single day near Jajce just to say thanks for liberating them from those crappy Catholic kings😂. Seriously, about 73% of them converted to Islam VOLUNTARILY, while the Pope, the Canadians, and every other Catholic power—even with the help of those "peaceful" Franciscans—couldn't make it happen during the previous three centuries
. Enjoy ☕
