I’ve noticed that sometimes a single player's vibe can totally shift the energy of a whole group, regardless of the stats. Do you think leadership matters more than raw skill when a season gets tough?
Does anyone actually have a clue how to put together a brochure using Microsoft Word?
I mean, does anyone know a specific program out there that’s actually decent for designing brochures—something where the first and second pages are already set up automatically and everything else just falls into place? I am really looking for something where I don't have to lose my mind trying to figure out which panel ends up on the front and which one lands on the back, you know, so I can actually see the layout clearly while I'm working. Or if someone happens to know the secret handshake for making this work in any other software...
neonhound10 said:Now you’ve gone and broadened the scope a bit too much there... that really doesn't apply to me at all. I don't condone attacking any group or individual, and honestly, I assume that's actually against the law here in the States... So, I think we really need to draw some lines between different categories, like those people who don't even think for themselves and just follow along with even bigger idiots, versus those who simply have their own perspective or way of looking at things without actually threatening anyone, regardless of whether their opinion happens to offend someone or not. At the end of the day, I just don't hang out with people whose views and beliefs feel like a personal attack on me, and that's really all there is to it...
When it comes to my child, even if they happen to be gay, I honestly can't wrap my head around why you’d assume I’d ever change my mind just because someone tries to label it as some kind of illness or disorder... I mean, at the end of the day, I can still love my kid unconditionally while simply acknowledging that they were born a little different from what society calls "normal"...
That’s really all there is to it, and honestly, I don't feel like I'm offending anyone or stepping on any toes, nor am I trying to deny anyone their rights in any way whatsoever...
I only made that comparison because we're talking about children... maybe it'll help you look at things a bit more clearly. Besides, listening to you talk, it sounds to me like the tables have turned and you're starting to sound a lot like the very thing you were criticizing before.
I’ve always said that I define primitive behavior as those moments where a pack of aggressive, straight guys decides to gang up and carry out some sort of "massacre" against a gay or bisexual person. Honestly, that kind of mob mentality is just so incredibly primal and backward!
I suppose you might actually change your tune if this were happening to your own kid, but let's be real—you aren't thinking about that right now because you haven't truly sat down to process what it would mean if something like this happened in your future. Even if you claim to be against it today, if it hit home, you'd eventually have to face the reality of it. At the end of the day, it’s your child, and they carry your blood!
Look, they aren't to blame for how they were born or for their orientation, which is exactly what one of the folks on this forum pointed out when they said, "I've been gay since birth and I'd give anything to be able to change it." Maybe there's even some shame involved, but you can't fight who you are. It's like how someone loves football or psychology or... well, whatever, it doesn't really matter in the grand scheme of things. You can't just tell yourself, "Starting today, I don't like football anymore, so I'm never watching an NFL game again when our team plays!"
Maybe it isn't the perfect analogy, but I think it's a simple way to get my point across! 😉
p.s. I totally blanked on mentioning this:
You really ought to get to know this third guy! Honestly, he can be an absolute legend most of the time, truly top-tier, but then there are those moments where his mood just shifts and he becomes a total nightmare 🙂😁
There’s this idea that there are actually three different versions of you living inside one skin:
The person you wish you could be.
The person you think you currently are.
And then there's the person you actually are.
The kicker is, that last one is the only version you haven't really met yet.
You’ve got to figure out how to just exist within your own company, honestly, because it can get pretty lonely, and I find myself stuck in that exact headspace more often than I’d like to admit—especially when it feels like every single person your age in the States is already paired up and moving through life in a couple, which just makes everything feel a little heavier.
Yeah, I totally hear you, but like people always say, you just have to pour all that energy back into yourself—whether that’s getting lost in a good book, hitting the gym, or diving headfirst into learning some new skill (depending on what field you're actually interested in pursuing).
It really is tough, I won't lie, but things do shift and improve with time, and more than anything else, BELIEVE IN YOURSELF, because that's absolutely vital, and you also need to BELIEVE in WHAT YOU DO!
I haven't been keeping up with this thread from the very beginning, but I have a few colleagues who are bisexual, and honestly, some who are gay too, and it really strikes me how people who have never actually hung out with anyone like that—not even for a single hour—feel entitled to spout such nonsense on internet forums!
To be perfectly blunt, I’d just call that pure primitivism!
If you take a quick look around at what's happening in America right now, you'll see we have Pride parades and all sorts of events, and it’s not like those people are out there attacking you just because you happen to be straight... If seeing two women together or two men together genuinely bothers you that much, then honestly, just look the other way and keep walking. I truly don't get the intense, aggressive fighting and the constant vitriol just because someone is different.
Think about it: tomorrow, your own child could turn out to be gay, yet here you are today, hating them and spitting on them. You never truly know what the future holds for your own home or your own family!
The reality is that this has always existed; it's just that nowadays there's more awareness about identity and how people live their lives, so it's only people who are actually tuned in who can truly understand and see the nuance, whereas "average" folks just see what they want to see...
Later!
Look, we’re all just unique individuals living our own lives, right? You really have to let people hold their own opinions, regardless of whether you think you're absolutely right or not... It’s honestly not your job to try and force someone to believe in something they haven't personally lived through or experienced firsthand.
So, why is it that when you try to explain something, people just don't seem to get you?
Well, maybe it's because you're overcomplicating things with way too many unnecessary words, or perhaps you're using terminology that folks just haven't encountered enough in their reading to actually grasp the nuance of what you're trying to drive home.
If you actually want to bridge that gap and communicate with people like that... you've got to step into their shoes for a second and just use plain, simple language to explain your point, whether you're recounting some wild story that happened to you or just sharing a thought.
Best, 🙂
