Anyone deemed "unwelcome" or merely "less than ideal" can leave their comments on the members' vacation photos right here. 😍

Because of you people—who exist solely to provoke—I’m done posting on this forum.

Tyler Ross86 said:Ma'am—Chloe Wells5—you can't honestly claim he was an exceptional son. He was a decent kid at work, sure; everyone saw him grow up, always the model student, always eager for more while receiving less because you didn't guide him properly. He once mentioned his obsession with money—how it just flies away—and they only took him in because he was unnaturally capable. A man who could never survive without his tools or his grit. Perhaps he needed to be taught how to actually communicate. Who knows where this is heading? You have to monitor his development—his brain could easily fry from drugs. Those vocational schools were meant for a blue-collar mind like his. You didn't make a "mistake," per se, but who knows if things would be even less disastrous than they are now. And I won't congratulate you—a child isn't solely your responsibility. Why is the father never mentioned? He’s the one who gave him the will to live. You can't summarize a lifetime in a few letters, Ma'am—Chloe Wells5.

No one here is actually asking me for congratulations—nor am I obligated to justify myself to anyone. His father is ill and his brother is deployed, so he and I have weathered quite a lot together. Why on earth would I expect a pat on the back? There are plenty of good children out there, but I know my own, and a parent loves their child regardless of their flaws. Stop insisting that you won't congratulate me; I haven't asked for it, John. Why do you persist with that? It makes me think this entire forum exists merely as a way for people to argue out of sheer boredom. Write whatever you like—I won't be responding, John.

Tyler Ross86 said:I am almost tempted to congratulate Nancy—she certainly played her part in her son's education—but I’ll hold back. After all, credit belongs to the son as much as the mother... I hope you won't hold it against me, Ms. Nancy.

Of course it is his own achievement. Even if I had provided everything, nothing would have happened without his drive. He is a good son—and since he proved himself capable, he was hired by that firm where he interned during college. Thanks, Tyler Ross86.

Do you honestly believe people who endure such things—after being sent links meant to provoke them out of wanting to live—can just move on? For any mother, this is horrific. I don't seek out therapists for conversation; I find my own peace. My son's anniversary is approaching—what do you think? Do these two children not have a right to life? If you have nothing intelligent to contribute, then please, refrain from commenting.

That’s the truth—it just happens to be the second son.

Of course it does—one must maintain a sense of hope, I suppose. And frankly, I’d prefer everyone to be employed and earning enough for a decent living; if everyone is working, then my own situation improves as well.

To my dear son—wishing you nothing but the best on your first day of work. I realized I haven't officially congratulated you on finishing school yet—though, let's be honest, it was largely my doing. I hope you won't hold it against me, given how much an education costs these days—but I don't regret it; in this economy, landing a decent job is a victory in itself. Mom is just happy for you.
My father committed suicide. How do I cope? in Psychology ·
Three years ago, I lost my son—and I was completely numb, drifting through a haze of sedative injections and disbelief until reality finally hit me. I started seeing a psychiatrist, but no one could truly touch my pain; it’s just been this solitary, internal battle that I have to carry alone.

I hold an account at Chase—they’re incredibly strict about requiring a photo ID every single time. Meanwhile, over at a local credit union, they barely even ask for anything beyond a name. I was making a deposit for my son once and the teller actually questioned who was making the payment; I just gave her a little joke to lighten the mood. That's just how I've found things work—different strokes for different folks.
