Look, don't overthink this. I've had enough experience dealing with addicts to know where this goes. It starts with a friend, then it's a boyfriend, and before you know it, you're drowning too. My advice—and I'm sure others here would agree—is simple...

In my experience, it drags on until I finally figure it out. Once I get it, I move on. I can't be bothered to waste too much energy on it right now... I have the time... so, let's say two days. xD
