Is it just me, or is hype overrated? in Fans ·
I feel like every year we get these massive predictions about some "next big thing" in college sports, and half the time they're just never as good as the scouts say. Do you guys actually buy into the preseason hype, or do you wait until the games are actually played?
Vomiting in the third trimester: Is this normal? in Women's Health ·
I had those same bouts of nausea during my third trimester last time, though I only ended up throwing up a few times...
Good evening, everyone,

I’m reaching out because I could really use some advice. My dad has been fighting stomach cancer for a few years now, and things are getting tough. His current oncologist doesn't have an opening to see him until this summer, but his markers are rising again and he’s just not feeling well at all. To make matters worse, the doctor hasn't ordered any follow-up tests or scans yet. We can't just sit around waiting while he suffers—we really want to get a second opinion as soon as possible. Does anyone know a great private specialist who focuses on abdominal diseases?

Thanks so much!
Grading Freshmen in Students & Teens ·
Oh, we used to get gold stars too! Haha, it honestly felt like our grades depended entirely on how creative the teacher was feeling that day.🤣 We also had those descriptive evaluations in our report cards, things like "demonstrates excellent behavior" or "integrates well with the class group."
Zachary Booth3 said:The other day I’m at the grocery store waiting at the deli counter when this woman looks at me and says, "Just a little longer, huh?" while gesturing toward my stomach. I didn't even bother responding because I don't know her. Then she just keeps going—"I had three kids, all C-sections. My first labor was a nightmare, I had stretches, then I didn't dilate for hours so they had to go in surgically, it was horrific..." 🙂 She just kept rambling...

I honestly couldn't believe it. Why on earth would you tell me this? We're total strangers and I'm literally days away from giving birth. 🙄 Imagine some random lady in a supermarket dumping her entire traumatic birth history on you. Unbelievable.
Recently, my friend's sister had her baby and it wasn't exactly an easy delivery either. I told her straight up: "Tell me everything after I actually give birth, not now. I have zero interest in hearing horror stories right before my due date."

Haha, well at least they’re telling you "almost"...
Lately, people have been asking me, "So, when is the due date?" And when I tell them it's late September, they give me this look and usually follow up with, "Oh, I looked just like that when I was only five or six months along!" Then they ask, "You haven't really put on much weight, have you?" When I tell them I've gained about 25 pounds, they act surprised all over again. And honestly, my bump isn't exactly small 🙄... All these comments have actually started making me a little anxious, so I even asked my doctor during my last checkup if my bump looked appropriate for how many weeks I am. He just asked me how tall I was, and when I told him I'm 5'8", he just went, "Well, that explains everything." To stay positive, I kept telling myself that since I'm tall, the baby probably isn't huge and the delivery won't be too difficult, but at my last scan a few days ago, they estimated the baby at nearly 7 pounds—and we still have a few weeks to go ☕
ironrider20 said:Ugh, here I am again... I probably shouldn't have even fed him since he barely finished half of it—typical, right?
And now his mother is driving me absolutely insane. Like, the second she stepped out of her SUV, she immediately made some comment about how fat I am. So, I just told her straight up that we could argue about who’s actually carrying the extra weight here—because honestly, she’s got more pounds on her than I did during my entire pregnancy—and that pregnant women generally don't appreciate being called fat. But then she tries to play it off like, "Oh, that's just how you say it," or whatever... 😈as if that makes it okay.
It really gets under my skin, I guess.

Haha, oh man, I live for comments like those—though I can only imagine how much more irritating it is when they come straight from your mother-in-law!☕

Not too long ago, a friend of mine told me, "Sorry, but you're just so funny looking... all round." I mean, what am I supposed to look like? I'm due in just a few weeks!!! And if it makes things any better, everyone else tells me I look great for someone nine months pregnant. Since I'm over eight inches taller than this friend and we weigh about the same when I'm not pregnant, I just looked at her and said, "Well, just wait until you're in my shoes!"☕
I’m honestly just as excited about all the baby prep—the shopping trips, browsing through cute little outfits, and checking out all those tiny essentials 😍😍 thanks, but I definitely wouldn't trade any of it for the world..
ironrider20 said:Look, I know my man can be amazing in certain ways—like, he’s great when I just need some extra TLC and someone to look after me—but honestly, the constant home renovations are absolutely killing me. It’s been a month of this nonsense. He was supposed to have the painting finished two weeks ago, but instead, I’m still tripping over construction paper and plastic sheeting in the hallway. And now? Now he’s telling me he ran out of paint and needs a new roller... 😠 he just cannot seem to wrap this up so I can actually clean everything and just wait for the baby to arrive. 😠 I want to head to the hospital knowing my house isn't a total disaster zone 😠😠😠. Like, seriously, today instead of actually finishing, he just took a nap. 😠😠😠😠
But then, I don't know, on the flip side, he brought home that huge Ghirardelli hazelnut chocolate bar I love. I mean, it's only been two weeks since I started cutting back on sweets, but he totally caught me off guard with that one. 😍

As for me, the sugar cravings started right from the beginning. 🤣 Honestly, I'm not even sure how much of it is actually due to the pregnancy; I think I might just be telling myself it's the hormones so I don't feel so guilty about overindulging! 😁

Why don't you tell him your doctor mentioned you might go into labor earlier than expected? Maybe that'll give him the kick in the pants he needs to finish the painting! 😉
Ronald Williams9 said:My husband actually helps out quite a bit... though he can be a total stickler when it comes to things being tidy. He used to be a professional athlete, so he’s spent his whole life living by a strict routine—everything has to be orderly and done thoroughly. 👍
But don't get me wrong, he's constantly nitpicking. He'll ask why I left this here, or why I didn't iron this particular shirt, or why that's sitting there... It's endless. I do everything he asks eventually, but I am not ironing clothes every single day. I'll do it when I actually feel like it.

When it comes to food, though... 👎👎

He won't lift a finger. Honestly, he can't even manage to put dirty dishes in the dishwasher instead of just leaving them in the sink. He never helps me with that. Now that I'm pregnant, he's finally being forced to step up, but man...

I think he realizes how much of a pushover he's being 😂 so he refuses to even set foot in the kitchen... it's like that territory is completely off-limits in his mind. 🙂

Out of our entire circle of friends, we're the only ones with a house and a yard. So, whenever everyone comes over for a get-together, they naturally expect a BBQ. It’s always such a headache. I have to beg him, then argue with him, and eventually resort to threats just to get him to fire up the grill... because he just doesn't want to do it. Meanwhile, even with my pregnancy cravings and exhaustion, I can cook a massive meal for ten people without breaking a sweat.

And there's zero empathy for when I'm exhausted or in pain. But the second he has a slight fever or a stuffy nose? It's a non-stop drama all night long. He'll moan about how he won't be able to sleep tomorrow because his nose is bothering him so much that he can't rest... it's ridiculous. And

I absolutely loathe how he sleeps until 2 PM on the weekends. It drives me insane.

On the flip side, I'll give him credit for one thing: he's spotless in the bathroom. He always puts the toilet seat down after he's done and makes sure to wipe everything down if there's a mess. 😂

Every man has his flaws, but he has his virtues too.

I couldn't agree more!👍👍
We eventually learn how to live with the imperfections, but isn't it those very strengths that make us love them? 😁😁
Ronald Williams9 said:Yeah, right. As if.😂

When it comes to keeping things tidy, I'm a solid 5 out of 10. I definitely fall short there.
But if I don't get my act together, he's already given me that look—the one that makes it very clear I won't be hearing any excuses.

I swear, I went gray from the stress of him in a heartbeat.😠

The bottom line is this: we reached an agreement. I handle the bulk of the daytime and nighttime shifts during the week, and he steps up once he's off work and throughout the weekends... just so I can actually catch my breath for once.

We'll see if he actually follows through, though.

As for the pain... please. If he gets a minor head cold, it's a national emergency. Imagine if he had to deal with actual monthly cramps. He'd be hitting up the ER every twenty-eight days.

Oh my goodness, reading that sentence made me realize that, as much as it sounds terrible, I am actually incredibly jealous of you!!!😉😉😉
I think my husband might be the absolute gold standard for laziness. I tend to blame his mom because he was an only child, and his parents and grandma basically treated him like he was made of gold. When we first started living together, it drove me absolutely crazy; I had total nervous breakdowns over how lazy he was. I kept thinking he’d eventually change, but unfortunately, nothing ever did. Now, I just lose my mind a little less because I’ve somewhat accepted the situation. Since he barely touches the mess, if he never helps me tidy up, he can't exactly complain about whether I've cleaned, cooked, or done the laundry...🤷

Now, while I'd love for him to show me a bit more affection and care while I'm pregnant, 😉 it would be nice if he didn't just tell me how "great" things are for me now simply because I'm handling this pregnancy relatively well and getting to hang out at home all day. Yesterday, I spent two hours ironing, and my back and legs were absolutely killing me. On top of that, I wasn't feeling great earlier in the day, yet there he was, playing video games all afternoon, only to flop onto the bed and gloomily remark that I have no idea how lucky I am... oh my god!! 🙂 Well, I feel better now that I've vented. 🙂
Haha, I feel so much better now... I honestly had this nagging feeling that everyone else was married to these mature, wonderful men who truly value everything their wives do and can't wait to lend a hand 😉
Even better—maybe husbands could step up a bit more so moms can actually get some rest... 😁
It honestly drives me crazy when men act like they think I’m going to have "the best time ever" during postpartum. Like, oh, you'll be home for a year! He actually told me he’d gladly swap places with me in a heartbeat—that he'd happily deal with the labor, the breastfeeding, the sleep deprivation, and all the other "joys" of motherhood just to stay home. It seriously makes my skin crawl because I just don't think he realizes how incredibly tough it is for young moms. Honestly, there are moments when I just want to strangle him! 🙂
Haha, looks like my weight has sparked quite the debate! Personally, when I think of "skinny," I'm picturing those runway model types—and that’s definitely not me, nor is it a look I’m ever interested in chasing. Honestly, nobody has ever called me skinny; people have always just put me in the "average" category, which is why I said I wouldn't call myself thin. I'm actually really happy with my body, and right now, I'm just sitting here happily enjoying some ice cream 🤣

I’d also love to join MrBeast in figuring out how to save up enough sleep for later in the day... haha, seriously though, if we actually found the secret to that, we'd be looking at a Nobel Prize

I’ve hit week 30 today, and honestly, if I hear one more person chirp, "Oh my goodness, look at that little belly!" I might actually lose it.
Thank God, the baby is doing perfectly fine. Everything is developing right on schedule, and my doctor says my bump is exactly where it should be for this stage. I’ve only put on about 13 pounds so far—maybe if I packed on another 20, people would finally stop worrying and realize everything is going exactly according to plan!
Best to you all!

I’ve put on about 24 pounds myself, so it’s definitely not like I haven't gained weight. People constantly tell me my belly looks small, and then they act totally shocked when I mention I’m due in just a month... For instance, my hairstylist told me she looked just like me back when she was only three months pregnant. Then, 🙄 they have the nerve to say I don't look like I've gained any weight at all! When I tell them I’ve actually gained nearly 25 pounds, they look at me like I'm crazy. They even ask if I used to be super skinny before (which isn't true—I was never tiny, standing 5'8" and weighing around 138 lbs). It's just endless... 🤦 Honestly, most of the time you just have to tune out the noise. As long as your doctor tells you everything is fine, that's all that matters. Besides, isn't it better to stay on the lighter side so you don't have to deal with as much weight loss after the baby arrives? ☕
It wasn't so much the reaction from my female coworkers that caught me off guard, it was how incredibly frustrating it was. 👎 My male colleagues were actually super supportive and understanding, but the women? They acted like I’d personally insulted their entire lineage or something. It was unreal. One guy even told me the other day that he walked into the breakroom and was just stunned—he actually overheard them talking about my pregnancy in such an awful, nasty way. Honestly, I'm just relieved to be working from home now so I don't have to deal with their attitudes anymore. 🤣
Since Ronald Williams9 already brought up the heat, I just have to chime in—this weather is seriously getting on my nerves. How are you all handling this stifling humidity? There were days when I honestly felt like I was going to burst; I had these pounding headaches that drove me absolutely crazy, and I was desperate for just a breath of fresh air. I even tried going for a walk to clear my head, but nothing seemed to help. I ended up being as cranky as a total old lady, just snapping at myself for no reason at all..
It looks like we’re all dealing with similar struggles regarding how our partners handle pregnancy 🙄 Honestly, I thought I was the only one getting so frustrated by this. It used to drive me absolutely crazy because whenever I tried to talk to my husband about what the baby and I needed, it felt like it was just going in one ear and out the other. I have to give him credit, though—he’s actually started showing more interest lately, and I can tell he’s genuinely excited about the little one, so I’m willing to overlook that initial lack of engagement. Still, it really gets under my skin when he doesn't seem to care at all during ultrasounds. When he tells me he finds them boring, I practically lose it! I mean, how can he be bored? This is his child too, right? 😕😕 Then he starts trying to explain that he can't see anything or understand what's happening, and it honestly makes my blood boil!!!🙂👎
