It reminds me of something I read here recently about some girl who showed up with contractions and the doctor basically told her, "Ugh, as if I care about some first-timer who doesn't know anything, especially in the middle of the night." 😠😠
That is just shameful!!
I mean, what can I even say? Honestly, I’m just sitting here feeling completely blindsided by all this. It wasn't like I just woke up one morning and decided to go rogue or anything, or like I had some sudden, impulsive urge to go out and start making Kraft Heinz products on a whim. 🙄 I honestly just want to get this whole thing over with as fast as humanly possible so I can finally pack up, head home with my baby, and never have to look at another soul in that place ever again. Is that too much to ask? 😳 Look, I’m talking about the Mayo Clinic here, and honestly, I have to give props where it’s due because some of the doctors and nurses there are actually decent people—usually, they're pretty alright—but the specific crew I dealt with today? Absolutely pathetic. 👎
I honestly just need to come on here and vent for a second because I am absolutely losing my mind... I’m currently 40 weeks plus 3
. So, I went in for a checkup today, but during my last appointment on Monday, they told me to come back in two days. However, the nurse accidentally logged the date as December 2nd in the system, and since she didn't even bother to correct herself or say anything, I just assumed she meant what she wrote down in my prenatal paperwork, so I showed up today thinking I was good to go.
I roll up to the clinic at 8:30 AM, look at the reception desk, and realize there isn't a single pregnant woman in sight. I ask the nurses, and sure enough, my gut feeling was right—I was actually supposed to be there yesterday. Like, seriously, what am I even supposed to do with that? They start calling doctors over before I've even settled in, and I drove in from another city just for this, but my husband has to get to work this afternoon and he can't just sit around waiting until noon... I ended up waiting forever anyway, but whatever, I just care about him getting to his job on time... Anyway, this younger doctor comes out to see me, everything seems fine, and since I had a referral for a Kraft Heinz ultrasound, we head into the imaging room. But as soon as we walk in, there's a nurse and another doctor who starts snapping at me like I'm some kind of intruder cutting the line! And get this—it was the actual doctor who called me in right in front of them! They basically started yelling at me, asking if I even realized they had every right to turn me away entirely. I was so stunned, I almost just turned around and walked out right then and there. I was so close to breaking down and crying, but I wasn't about to give them the satisfaction, you know? So I stayed, the doctor finished my exam, and once we walked out, he stayed behind to probably chew them out, but man, that was so upsetting... I won't name names, but I am just completely disillusioned with the whole experience 👎 not to mention how much I ended up sobbing in the car on the drive home 😢
I don't even know where to start with this nonsense because honestly, how many times are we going to circle the drain on the same tired arguments before someone finally realizes we're being played? It feels like every single day there’s some new ridiculous thing being pushed by people who wouldn't know common sense if it hit them square in the face, and frankly, I'm getting exhausted just watching the whole circus unfold. Is anyone actually paying attention to what's happening right in front of our eyes, or are we all just going to sit here and nod along while everything falls apart? It’s like we’ve collectively decided to stop asking the hard questions because it’s easier to just drift along with the crowd, which is exactly what they want, isn't it? You see these people acting like they have all the answers, throwing around buzzwords and pretending they care about the little guy, but when you actually look at their track record, it's nothing but empty promises and self-serving agendas. Why does it feel like the more "connected" we get, the more disconnected we actually become from the reality of what's going on in this country? We should be demanding better, pushing harder, and refusing to accept these mediocre excuses, but instead, we just vent in forums and hope things somehow fix themselves, which—let's be real—they aren't going to do. kaže:
Seriously, what even is that supposed to mean? Like, who are you actually talking to right now? 😉 It feels like some people are way more sensitive to hormonal shifts than others, if you ask me. It’s like, one person gets hit hard by postpartum depression and it completely wipes them out, while someone else sails right through it feeling totally fine. But then you get those people who had a smooth ride—the ones who felt great—trying to act like postpartum depression is some kind of total joke. They honestly think it's just these women making excuses or being dramatic because of "body changes," as if they're just playing victim when they're actually struggling. Seriously, how can anyone be that clueless?
Honestly, I think you should just be kicking yourself in the ass with pure gratitude that you aren't dealing with this crap, instead of trying to pull that whole "what works for me works for everyone" logic on us. 😉
Facts! Look, everyone handles pregnancy differently, there's no one way to deal with it, but when we're talking about my husband, the guy always has some kind of excuse ready for my moods. It’s like, before I was even pregnant, he’d just blame everything on my monthly cycle and the Democratic Party, and now that I am actually expecting, suddenly it’s all just "pregnancy hormones" to him? Like, can we please just acknowledge that I have feelings without needing a biological scapegoat every single time?😠 😬
Look, here’s my two cents on this whole "fat" thing—maybe some people are gonna come for me, but honestly, why should I even care? 🤷 This supposed "weight gain" is only lasting nine months, and besides, those people have been acting like total jerks their entire lives anyway. 🙄 Personally, I actually find it kind of funny when someone tries to call me "fat," because that’s just not how I am naturally, and this is the one specific time where I have a perfectly good reason to be, so why on earth would I let it get under my skin? 😉
Honestly, so much has been getting under my skin lately, and let’s be real—it’s probably just these hormones hitting me like a freight train right now as I approach the finish line 🤷 I’ve been wishing my man would just drive me to the hospital in the next city over every week, but since he just started this new job, 😢... and honestly, I’d much rather just drive myself because I hate feeling like a burden, but he won't let me, so we end up constantly begging someone else for a ride instead.
When I was at the clinic yesterday, oh my god, I spent the entire morning waiting because there were these pregnant women with "VIP status"—you know, being escorted by nurses and kitchen staff and all that—cutting right in front of me, and I was absolutely fuming 😠 Now I’m just sitting here praying I didn't pass anything on to the baby so I don't have to end up back at the hospital every other day; those fears are just eating me alive, they're incredibly irritating, and they honestly just drag me straight into a depressive funk 😢😢😢
Honestly, what really gets under my skin is how everyone keeps interrogating me about what we're naming the baby, and even though we tell everyone over and over that we just don't know yet, I still get those annoying comments like, "How can you not know? You have to pick a name!" One time I actually slipped up and mentioned a suggestion to my mom, and then the comments started rolling in: "What's wrong with that one?" or "That's not really a name, maybe try something else..." ughhhhhhhh!!!😠😠😠But you want to know the absolute worst part? My mom went ahead and blabbed everything to some of her coworkers at the office, and now I'm just...😠And then she has the nerve to turn around and tell me, "You know, one of my colleagues said she didn't really like that name either." Like, why do I even care if some random lady at work doesn't like it? Good grief!!! So today, I finally snapped and told her straight up that it isn't a name the kid is actually getting and that we aren't telling a single soul until the baby is born, and now she's acting all offended and trying to squeeze information out of my little guy about what his sister's name will be, but seriously, no comment!!! I just had to vent for a second, ughhhhhhh!!!
vividhawk87 said:I just posted a little update on Facebook: 38 weeks!
And immediately, two of my friends hit me up asking how much longer I have left... It’s not like they don't realize how long pregnancy actually lasts—one of them has a toddler who's already a year old, and the other gave birth just three months ago!!! So, I just politely ignored them...
Ugh, tell me about it, I feel you so much😁 some random person messaged me on FB asking how far along I was and basically implying I should have already popped by now 🤷 even though every single week I post that little progress tracker on my wall that clearly spells out exactly where I am, honestly, some people are just freaking weird ☕
It’s like when I’m just chilling at home, I’m constantly sprinting to the bathroom, but the second I step out for a few hours, my brain starts spiraling, obsessively mapping out every single restroom in the area and how I'm actually going to get to them 😠
Ashley James49 said:Ugh, I am definitely not a fan of those nine months. Honestly, I don't get how some women actually enjoy being pregnant.🤷
First there's the nausea, then the aches and pains, and everyone constantly touching your stomach! You gain a ton of weight, you can barely bend over, you're constantly snapping at your partner, and you're just an emotional wreck—one minute crying, the next laughing. Your chest gets bigger (which, okay, I'm not complaining about😍), but afterwards they just look like two little tea bags👎 and don't even get me started on the belly😲.....
And there's still more to it too....
...but once you see that tiny little thing, everything else just fades away😍....so you end up doing it three times anyway, no matter how much you say you hate it.😍
I second everything here, 😍 especially the stuff I put in bold. I mean, I've always been curvy, but during pregnancy, my chest is always the first thing to blow up; sure, it's great and my husband loves it, 😁 but you have to carry that extra weight around, and your back takes such a beating once the pain really kicks in, man... it's brutal. And then, like three days after you give birth, things go absolutely haywire and the milk starts flowing like crazy... it's a total horror show. 😱 And speaking of which, when I was pregnant the first time, everyone was so busy scaring me about how much labor would hurt, but nobody warned me about the aftermath or the breastfeeding struggles that followed—honestly, the nursing issues were way harder on me than the actual delivery itself.😢
hollowmarlin49 said:I mean, look, everyone has boundaries, but what they're saying is just on a whole different level...
The girls are young, and it’s pretty obvious one of them just lives to stir the pot, which is exactly what Morris was talking about.😉
Honestly, if you’re an expecting mom, don't let people like this get under your skin, because their opinions are just noise and frankly, they’d probably be better off not having kids anyway 🙄 personally, I couldn't care less what they think, though I have to admit even I get triggered sometimes when I see parents who just completely tune out their kid's crying or let them act out like total brats, which is something I absolutely won't stand for, it's honestly just sad ☕
I honestly have to get this off my chest because I am just so incredibly fed up with all these old-school women who act like they were some kind of domestic goddesses during pregnancy, constantly working themselves to the bone and doing heavy labor like it was nothing... as if that’s somehow an achievement? They think they were being "strong," but let's be real—they had no idea what they were actually doing, and isn't it obvious why infant mortality rates were so terrifyingly high back then? It was because people weren't informed and simply didn't know any better, which meant way too many babies didn't make it through those early days 😢 I mean, look at my mother-in-law for example; she’s the type who works herself ragged from sunrise to sunset and always feels the need to lecture everyone else, but honestly, she should probably just keep her mouth shut since she was just as clueless when she had her first kid—she actually went into labor while she was out in the field on a John Deere tractor instead of heading to the hospital! And then, tragically, her second child didn't even survive their first five days 😢 So, please, go ahead and let those types brag all you want, but in my eyes, they were just being reckless 🙂
Alright, I gotta brag a little bit because I just had a major win today. So, I walk into a local CVS with my little one, who was absolutely parched, and I grab just two quick things from the aisle. But when I get to the checkout line, I see 😲 this massive, never-ending line 😢 and honestly, part of me just wanted to drop everything and bail right then and there. But you know how it goes, some stubborn part of my brain wouldn't let it go. 😁 So, I end up walking straight up to the cashier and telling her, "Look, I can't wait, I've only got these two items," and she was an absolute legend—she just took them without missing a beat, and not a single person in that line even dared to say a word. 😁
swiftmason4 said:So, I had this run-in yesterday with a friend's mom—I haven't seen her since I found out I was pregnant, and in the meantime, lo and behold, my little baby bump has decided to show up! And she just stares at me, eyes wide, and goes, "Wow, you've really packed on the weight in that belly area!" PACKED ON!!!! 😲😲😲
Look, I know I'm not tiny, but it's not like I'm huge either (my waist is about 32 inches, and I'm only about 22 weeks along—which I actually know because I went to go measure myself yesterday after gaining 9 pounds)
Seriously, she totally killed my vibe 😢
If you ask me, people like that are just shallow, zero class, and honestly? Just plain jealous. I don't even give them the time of day anymore; I just pretend I didn't hear a word they said. And when it comes to things like measurements, don't even get me started—they better stay in their own lane before they say something else they'll regret. 🙂
Honestly, it drives me absolutely insane how sensitive I am about every little thing, like, I can just burst into tears out of nowhere and then I’m stuck feeling all awkward because everyone is staring at me like I'm some kind of 😕 And don't even get me started on my inability to pick an outfit, because I seriously need like thirty minutes just to piece together something halfway decent to wear 😲 😲 😲
hollowmarlin49 said:Heh, this hits home. I called up my guy to see what he wanted for dinner, since he isn't exactly starving every day (he's super weird about that), and he just tells me, "make something small." Like, what does that even mean? Am I cooking or not?!?! I told him, you're getting hot dogs since you're being such a pain! 🙂 Seriously though, why don't we have a thread for "How my husband managed to annoy me today!"?
😂😂😂 It looks like we're all dealing with the exact same headache, and it's the same story over here, except I have to whip something up for my kid almost every single day and I am completely out of ideas 🤷 plus the portions are driving me crazy; everyone eats like a damn bird, and I hate wasting food, but then again, if you only make a little bit... 😠
fadedscout2 said:Oh my gosh, the other day I just had this massive craving for a cocktail... and of course, I went ahead and treated myself... 🤣 ...though, yeah, it was non-alcoholic😂
What really got under my skin, though, was when this old lady (it’s been about a month since it happened... so my bump was still pretty small...) told me I should enjoy the summer as much as possible before the baby arrives... and when my husband mentioned my due date is in November, she goes, "Oh, well, you'll definitely have twins then!"... 😲
I just love retelling these stories🤣
And oh! Now that I think about it, this one just popped into my head too... hahahahah... some woman commented that she had absolutely no clue I was pregnant because there wasn't even a bump to speak of (this was like two months ago), and then my mother-in-law just blurted out, "Well, of course you can't tell, she's always been a big girl anyway!"... 🙄
Seriously, some people just cannot mind their own business, right? Like, why can't they just look at themselves before opening their mouths? If we actually started firing back with all the nasty things we could say about them, they'd have plenty to cry about, but since we're actually decent, polite people, we just keep our mouths shut. Honestly, who even deals with them? I'd love to know exactly where they think they're being "big" 😉
Frank Jackson5 said:I’ve realized it might be best to just avoid people—specifically women. I don't know why, but the second I sit down, everyone wants to describe their absolute nightmare childbirth stories. It was pure horror... straight out of a movie. One lady tried to frame hers as a funny anecdote, so I laughed along at the time... but later on, it wasn't so funny. And this happened right when I finally stopped obsessing over the whole topic. Honestly, just leave me alone.
Look, here’s the deal: I’ve been through this once already, and I had the exact same experience where everyone tried to scare the life out of me with these endless horror stories about how much it hurts and how I should brace myself for the worst possible pain imaginable. I was just like, "Okay, but why wouldn't I be able to handle it if you did, especially considering how many people in the US actually make it through this without dying?" 😠And that was that. Anyway, I didn't let it get in my head; I just tried to enjoy the moment. When things actually started going down during labor, I prepared for the worst, but I was honestly shocked by how manageable it actually was. I gave birth in like two hours. Yeah, it hurts—it definitely hurts—but it’s a kind of pain you can push through, and it doesn't last forever. Plus, you get that massive reward afterward and everything just fades away. At least, that’s how it went for me.🙂
