Edward Rodriguez4 said:So I was spiraling today thinking about labor. It hit me out of nowhere—what if my water breaks while I’m dead to the world asleep?! 😲 Like, what if I don't even realize it happened!! 😱
And then there's the other thing... what if I can't grab a decent meal before everything kicks off?? That’s honestly my biggest fear, hands down. Plus, how much is this actually gonna hurt? I know what it feels like when you have a killer toothache, or a massive migraine, or even when you've torn a ligament in your knee or had some brutal surgery without enough numbing agent... 🙄 but who the hell knows how intense this is going to be!
I ended up venting all of this to my mom, and she just absolutely lost it laughing at me. She goes, "Honey, trust me, once that water breaks, you are *definitely* going to notice..." Well, thanks for nothing, Mom!

Anyway, I tried to snap myself out of it by thinking about the good stuff. Like, once this baby is out, I am heading straight to the salon to get rid of all this extra fluff on my backside because, seriously, this pregnancy weight is growing like crazy! I'm already picturing myself grabbing a cold beer—maybe a Guinness or something dark—and getting my nails done too!! Ugh, I seriously cannot wait for that!

Speaking of positive vibes—I gave birth about a month ago and finally made it to the salon for highlights and a haircut after three weeks. Total game changer, ladies.

I won't even get started on the sheer relief of being postpartum. 😁 Sure, I have new stressors now, but man, getting rid of that constant pelvic pressure, the massive belly, having to pee every five minutes, dealing with pads, and the constant fear of leaking... not to mention the anxiety over every little cramp, worrying if the baby is moving enough—or moving too much—why they're jumping around, if everything is okay, and why I had to go to those weekly appointments at that nightmare OB-GYN clinic. And yeah, no more heartburn. 😁

Anyway, just wanted to brighten your day a bit. It all passes eventually. 👍
vividhawk87 said:And honestly, it just bugs me when people act like being pregnant is some kind of illness!

Exactly. And then when I order takeout, I get the whole "WHAT ARE YOU EATING?!" reaction. Like, you're pregnant, you can't have 😲 (like a Starbucks latte)

Especially coming from women who haven't even been pregnant themselves. 🙄

I mean, everyone knows their own body—if a terrified pregnant woman decides not to eat half of that, she clearly knows what's best for her pregnancy. But seriously, back off if I choose to handle my pregnancy however I see fit. 😍
Tyler Ruiz502 said:Hmm... 🤔 I haven't really had to skip any specific foods because of the pregnancy yet... everything is pretty much business as usual for me... tuna, the occasional Coke, maybe a beer here and there, cheese and cream from the local farmer's market, ham, prosciutto... 🤔

Yeah, same here. If it doesn't smell weird or if I don't feel like eating it (fish for some reason—not that it stinks, it just makes me crave a sandwich more 😬), everything else is business as usual....👍
Good morning... It’s getting exhausting—I’m dealing with cramps, bloating, lower abdominal pain, and this constant gas every single night. I’m having to get up maybe four times a night just to use the bathroom, and every time I try to stand up, the pain is just sharp enough to make me groan. 😲
I get asked when my deadline is about a million times by the same people.

Look—if you don't care, then don't ask. If you actually do care, just damn well remember it, even if it's just a rough estimate...
analogmason15 said:MM and I originally agreed we’d just be the three of us at home—just us—but he totally flipped the script yesterday. He actually cornered me, asking why I always have to make things complicated, why I can't just accept help like everyone else, and why I feel the need to play this "superwoman" role all the time...

Me

And I’m like, look, I want to see how it actually goes. Maybe my contractions won't leave me completely bedridden, maybe I won't need constant help with the little one, and honestly? I just don't want someone hovering over me constantly giving unsolicited advice just because they’ve already had kids...

Then he goes: "But who's going to cook? Who's going to clean?" So I told him straight up—he lives in the house too and isn't disabled, so he can handle his share. His response? "Yeah, but what if you're too exhausted from being woken up every couple of hours by the baby??"

Yesterday was a total breaking point for me, and it happened right on my birthday. If I could have fired him on the spot without a second thought, I would have...

Then there's my mother-in-law insisting she'll be staying with us. I told her it wasn't necessary, but that she could drop by so I wouldn't worry. Then my own mom tells me she's coming over immediately after I get out of the hospital, whether anyone calls her or not...

Honestly, I'm just feeling pretty miserable because nobody is actually asking what *I* want or how *I* feel. Everyone—my mom, my MIL, and MM—is basically trying to map out my entire future for me. It just drives my blood pressure through the roof. I guess I'm just the black sheep in a family that loves to lecture and expects me to follow the exact same traditional paths all the women before me took...

I’m dealing with something very similar with both my mom and my mother-in-law, so I totally get where you're coming from.
You just need to figure out what you actually want and give them specific jobs—like telling Mom to bring over pre-cooked meals, asking my husband to handle certain baby stuff, or giving my mother-in-law a third task.
Basically, don't let them dictate how or when you spend time with your own kid. Just stick to your guns.👍
Harold Cook2 said:Man, that stuff drives me absolutely insane too. The other day I’m walking with my crew through the park, right? And there’s this young mom sitting there, her little two-year-old is playing in the sandbox, and she’s just sitting there puffing away on a smoke. Her belly is huge, too. It’s just gross. Seriously, seeing that is so nasty.😛

Wait, I don't get why this is bothering you guys so much?
It’s her problem and her pregnancy—not ours. Neither of those situations—whether she was at a concert or just sitting in the park—was actually threatening anyone's breathing since she was smoking outdoors... so I guess the question is, what exactly is the issue here? 🤷

So, I got chewed out today by some lady in HR—just my luck. I’m trying to get my name change processed through Medicare before the baby arrives, and she goes ahead and writes down my old address on the paperwork instead of the current one... just—unbelievable. Seriously. :2up:
And then there’s the fact that you haven't even proven it yet—as if being 35 weeks pregnant isn't enough of a reason to skip around aimlessly. I had to trek all the way to the Medicare office just for a two-minute errand because I was supposed to be registered there or whatever. 16 miles Moving forward... (old address).
And what is he even saying...
Yeah, people are giving me grief because we're waiting until the 34th week to go pick out a crib...
amberheron62 said:Honestly, I just don't see how being obnoxious or having zero boundaries has anything to do with being a woman in her thirties without a partner.
Asking invasive questions or touching someone without permission is just rude, period. It doesn't matter how old you are or if you're single or married. 🤷

And if we're talking about actual friends? Then I'm even more lost. 🤷

Oh, I knooooow there isn't a direct link in a general sense—but with these specific women... there is. And they aren't even friends, just acquaintances.
You know that feeling when certain people just seem to gravitate toward certain situations? That’s basically how it looks to me—though maybe I'm just being hormonal since I've been exposed to too much of this lately... 🙄
I've got these jealous hens breathing down my neck—women in their thirties who can't even land a date, yet somehow feel entitled to know every single damn detail about my pregnancy
and, of course, they have to rub my belly (&%&%$#$.
Whenever we go out, I find myself praying people will just slow down—I can't exactly extend my stride anymore... what am I, some kind of marathon runner, Conan O'Brien?
I don't think I'm sick, just pregnant, but that doesn't mean I can be out there digging 😬 or running around aimlessly...

I suppose I’m going to have to start being a bit more careful about how much I push myself. 😁
Jessica Vaughn said:Good grief... everyone keeps telling me I'm FAT... give me a break, I'm not fat, and I haven't even gained that much weight... what is wrong with them...
Fat? My ass!

Exactly.
I honestly don't get why people feel the need to comment on pregnancy—or postpartum—weight in the first place.

Men or women, it doesn't matter... I just can't wrap my head around how some people have the nerve to interrogate you about it. Like, "how much did you gain?" or "is it noticeable?" Give me a break. 😲

It's peak rudeness, yet somehow it's totally normal... just awful.

I guess I'll jump in here too😍>

I'm pregnant for the third time—and honestly, every single time, it bugs me when people I know (and sometimes even strangers) ...first off, they go straight for the belly rub😕......which I just can't stand😠.....
I don't really know why, but it's annoying...🤷>
I completely agree! I HATE IT!

I once told someone, "How would you feel if I just grabbed your chest like that!?" 😂>😲

Get lost. People really allow themselves to do anything these days.....
The worst part is when there aren't even any signs—you know, nothing marking priority seating for pregnant women or people with disabilities. In those spots, everyone just looks away and pretends they’re blind or deaf 😢

BUT. When the signage is actually clear, you should just head straight to the counter 😁 without an ounce of shame!

vividhawk87 said:It’s actually pretty ridiculous how they schedule things—pregnant women have these specific windows where they can get bloodwork done, while everyone else is free to come in whenever they want! It drives me absolutely insane. Why on earth don't they just state that those dates are reserved EXCLUSIVELY FOR PREGNANT PATIENTS, rather than implying those are the only days pregnant patients are allowed? Their scheduling logic is completely backwards!

Honestly, it's terrible. Where even is this supposed to be happening?!!?

I walk into the Runyan clinic for bloodwork, head straight to the desk, hand over my insurance card, and just bark: "Morning, nurse—pregnant woman here for blood and urine!"
I even pat my stomach just to make sure nobody tries to cut in front of me. 🤣

I mean, what's the issue? I assume they're obsessed with following Medicare guidelines that say disabled people and pregnant women get priority regardless of the line. Plus, most labs in these local clinics are privately run, and they probably don't want any headaches from Medicare... at least, that's how I see it. 😁

So—just demand what you're entitled to!

Just so I don't look like I'm always looking for a fight—I almost burst into tears today at a small Walmart because they didn't have a dedicated lane for pregnant women. The line was 1.9 miles, and I felt awful cutting ahead of everyone... so I waited... while dealing with cramps... and aching legs... and just feeling miserable... 😢🙄
But there wasn't a special lane, so... 😢 what could I do?.....
fadedscout2 said:I honestly don't even know what to say anymore... it’s just constant, seriously, people are always, always asking me if I'm about to pop or if I've started counting down the days until the baby arrives! 😕
I mean, why on earth am I soooooo big?! 🤣

Yeah, same here—I'm at 28 weeks. 🙄

It’s getting annoying, though—bending over my belly is becoming a massive chore... guess I won't be doing my own pedicure anytime soon. 🤣
fadedscout2 said:🙏 Good for you, seriously... I actually get so embarrassed when people are sweet enough to let me cut in front of them🙄 and I could never be as bold as you are 🙏

The other day this guy actually shoved past me in a pharmacy, even though he was right in front of me and there were two women ahead of him (an older lady and a young girl)..
And man, I feel so awkward, like when I'm waiting in line at the grocery store for some bread.. I'd probably be buying a whole bunch of stuff, and then some lady will call me up from further back in the line and I'll only say one thing because I just can't stand the idea of holding up the entire queue after she was kind enough to let me go first... 🤦

Give me a break! 😲 You'll have plenty of time to wait in lines later in life—assuming your joints don't start aching or your feet don't swell just because you stood there for 20 minutes...
Now is the time to let them move you along. 👍
Michael Miller8 said:The other day at the grocery store, an elderly woman standing behind me in line reached out and—out of nowhere—stroked my belly. 😲😲😲
I muttered, "Good grief, what do you think you're doing?" and she immediately started apologizing profusely, insisting I shouldn't be angry because it wasn't some kind of curse, just a reflex.
What on earth is she talking about? A curse? She's lost it. 😲
I was genuinely stunned.

Later, while waiting in line again, a man let me cut ahead of him. I told him thank you, which would actually be appreciated if people weren't so selfish; usually, everyone acts like they’re blind to avoid moving. Instead, he just stood there counting his change like a total idiot. Then he looks at me and says, "Ma'am, if I had known you were just grabbing yogurt, I would have let you go sooner so you wouldn't have to wait." 😁
He was a decent enough guy.

Anyway, I'm 39 weeks pregnant, and my bump is impossible to miss. Some of the women at the store act like I'm just some overweight person and refuse to move out of the way, leaving me to struggle on my own.

Well, yeah, you have to figure it out. Personally, my strategy is usually to head STRAIGHT to the register (say, at Walmart or Kroger, using the express lane for pregnant women or people with disabilities) and just ask the cashier, "Excuse me, can I go ahead?" If she glares at me, well, she's not the first one to do it. ☕ Or if someone in line tries to protest—and none of them are actually disabled or pregnant—well, too bad. Ugh.

In those smaller corner stores, people usually just react on their own... or I just won't even bother going in if I see a line stretching from 1.2 miles....
So, I was taking the bus yesterday and just wanted to report—on three different buses, three separate elderly ladies offered me their seats. Either I looked absolutely exhausted or it was just one of those days... but everyone was being incredibly kind to me 😁
I’m honestly stunned.... figured I’d share this with you all, maybe it's because of those meteor showers we had recently 😁
