Hello everyone,
Here is the situation: my father is undergoing radiation therapy for a tumor in his neck area.
He has only completed two sessions—which are quite lengthy—and he is already struggling to swallow food and is dealing with vomiting... He is having an incredibly difficult time managing these side effects.
Does anyone know if there is a specific medication—it truly doesn't matter if it requires a prescription or how much it costs, nor does it matter where it needs to be sourced—that could help alleviate this nausea and vomiting?

The core issue is that he simply cannot eat anything at all. He is currently at home, and frankly, the doctors don't seem particularly concerned about his condition. Do we have any right to call them and request that they administer an IV drip or some other form of support at home?
Hey, is it actually normal to feel this incredibly weak during the early stages of pregnancy? I’m currently 7 and a half weeks along, and since yesterday, I’ve just been feeling absolutely terrible—I have zero energy to do anything other than lie down, and the nausea is hitting me pretty hard too. It's exhausting. I have an appointment scheduled with my OB-GYN tomorrow, though I can't help but wonder if I should have just rushed to the clinic today given how poorly I'm feeling.
There isn't any physical pain, per se, but this weakness and fatigue...
Michael Barrett11 said:Unfortunately, yeah, it’s pretty standard. I went through the exact same thing, and honestly, I still feel it. It feels like I’d need at least 12 hours of sleep just to feel halfway human.

Oh, tell me about it. I am barely hanging on by a thread here—I can't even begin to describe the level of fatigue. And I haven't even mentioned how much of a struggle it is at the office... If it were up to me, I’d just head home and sleep immediately. My little girl is staying with my mom right now, so when I finally walk through the door at 4:00 PM, there isn't a moment of peace until 9:00...
I’ve actually stopped drinking coffee because the very thought of it makes me nauseous, yet I’m seriously considering having a cup just to stay upright—because I simply cannot function like this...🙂
It feels to me like I need a full twenty-four hours of nothing but lying down and sleeping.
During your first trimester, you actually had the luxury of being able to afford that sort of rest.🙂
Help, I am currently in my 8th week of pregnancy and I am just—well, "tired" doesn't even begin to cover it. I am beyond exhausted... I honestly can't find the right words to describe this level of fatigue. I can barely keep my eyes open while sitting down, let alone function. And yet, here I am at work, knowing that a little one is waiting for me at home...
Did any of you go through something similar? I truly don't know how I'm going to power through this exhaustion.
Is it actually normal to feel this depleted?

I had no idea people exchanged this kind of information here, even regarding specific dentists... From these first five pages of discussion, I can gather that there are a handful of practitioners who feel forced to advertise themselves in this manner—which is their own choice (though, in my view, it isn't necessary at all!).
The truly unsettling realization, however, is that over 90% of the contributors on this platform are, in the truest sense of the word, scavengers—opportunists and cheapskates...
They demand top-tier service and medical procedures, provided—if possible—that they cost absolutely nothing.
Good grief, is it not obvious to you people that premium service comes at a premium price? ("You get what you pay for," as the saying goes.)???
Let me share an experience from about seven or eight years ago:
One afternoon, a rather low-income, unrefined laborer in green scrubs walks in without an appointment, complaining of tooth pain. I perform a full examination and find that two fillings have fallen out entirely, three have partially failed, and two others are far too old and need replacing—that is seven different teeth in total... At that time, I used to show patients exactly what was wrong with them in a way that was considered quite cutting-edge back then (and remains so today)—and I did the same for this potential patient...
The worker's response? "Well, doctor, I actually saw your colleague just yesterday (he practices right down the street, though we aren't personally acquainted) for these exact same pains (!), and he told me everything with my teeth was perfectly fine."
Me: "Does this colleague happen to be 'in-network'?"
Worker: "Yes, that's exactly why I went to him!"
Me: "Unfortunately, I can only diagnose your current condition—it is up to you to decide where you wish to take all THAT to be repaired."...

It would all be very pleasant if that colleague of mine hadn't been specifically named or recommended by one of you "keyboard warriors."

I am immensely relieved that my name, as well as the names of none of my colleagues, appears on pages such as these...
But you see for yourselves! ...

Yes, I'm sure you're a dentist from Washington, D.C., given that accent and dialect. Since when does anyone talk like that in the capital? Well, stay happy knowing you aren't among those mentioned here.
