Everything you need for a California wedding in Weddings ·
Carol Mitchell6 said:Alright, thanks 🙂

.... so, how far in advance should I actually be looking at wedding dresses and getting everything booked?

Some people book a year out, others wait until two months before... personally, I think six months is a decent window if you want to avoid a total nervous breakdown from either rushing or stalling.

I have no idea about the Luxor, but just for a ballpark figure, we used to work at a cafe called the Gazebo in Atlanta (right by the church) and they charged $33 per person, which included drinks—just not hard liquor.

A few tips from a trendy lady 😁

First up: the flowers were done by Mrs. Odessa at the "Pup" flower shop in San Diego....honestly, people, this woman is a genius! I have very specific tastes when it comes to florals and I didn't want those cookie-cutter rose arrangements; she crafted the most incredible bouquet featuring sunflowers, tiny autumn berries, miniature orchids, and actual ivy!!!!! Not a single person wasn't stunned by that bouquet and the centerpieces....highly recommended, especially if you love things that are unique and playful....😍

"Amigos" Restaurant in Postran: smaller venue, perfect for about 80-100 people, right on the beach....kudos to the owner Joseph and the staff!!! The food was excellent 👍

Cakes: Viadel in St. Katy—pretty decent, even though nobody could ever satisfy my mother's standards....but even she admitted their croquant is top-tier!!!!👍

The band 021: the dance floor was packed the entire time, which says enough! At our request, they played mostly foreign and local rock and California hits and they were great; only toward the end did they pivot to a block of generic crowd-pleasers, but I think they were thrown off because their favorite guitarist got sick and couldn't play much at the end, so they switched gears. (Props to the guitarist; he heroically pushed through a massive fever). 🙏 The girl in the band has a gorgeous voice; her technical execution of every song, especially our favorite heavy rock tracks, was flawless—double recommendation 👍

Wedding dress rented from La Perla: the girls there work professionally, with dedication and kindness—at least that was my experience.

Photos aren't ready yet, but the gentleman who photographed us, the stingy Jerry Lovelace, didn't just do his job alongside his colleague; he actually directed us when we were looking confused, explaining where to stand, where to move, who leads whom, when to enter the church...it was like he was the coordinator for the whole wedding, not just the photo and video. I am endlessly grateful for that! He literally saved our skin several times 😍

Makeup—done by myself, plus a friend who has talent and knows my taste perfectly 😍 🙂

...so, yeah, those are the things I'm happy with...

Hey everyone! :-)

I know it’s probably too late to be asking this since we’re getting married in a month and everything is pretty much set, so what have you got? But still—has anyone actually worked with 021 Bendom? We were looking for a rock band and ended up booking them, but I haven't heard a single soul in my neck of the woods or even further out talk about them. Honestly, I'm starting to panic...🙄
Hey everyone... I could use some help here. The wedding is (hopefully) set for October 23rd, and we need a band that actually knows how to play—something that hits those classic American rock vibes (think Thompson, Pejakovic, Mate Bulic, and stuff like that not ), but can fit into a smaller venue. Specifically, we're looking at Amigos in Malibu. We were originally eyeing the Pink Panther, but it turns out they won't work; they need way more room for the drums and all their gear. Please, give me some advice, recommendations, or any info you've got... I'm honestly starting to panic 😲
Hand cramping right before climax... in Women's Health ·
Sophia Young3 said:I get the exact same feeling whenever I get worked up, except my hands just go numb and cramp up. It only happens then... so, does that mean I shouldn't worry?

If you’re hyperventilating or breathing super fast during those moments, you're probably fine. If not, go get your electrolyte levels checked to rule out hereditary hypocalcemia—though honestly, even that is usually harmless.🙂

Maria Sanchez59 said:Is hypocalcemic tetany the reason my hands go numb for a few seconds whenever I lift them above my head or prop my head up with my arm while lying on my side? Or am I just dealing with poor circulation?

This only happens when I take a deep breath. It never just kicks in out of nowhere.

If it only happens when you take a deep breath, that’s likely the culprit. But if it triggers just from that specific position—regardless of how you're breathing—you're probably looking at muscle or tendon pressure hitting those deep nerve plexuses. It happens to me constantly whenever I reach my arm all the way up over my shoulder. 😉
Adenocarcinoma diagnosis in Women's Health ·
I agree—in a situation like this, you listen to the oncologist. They’re the ones who actually treat the tumors. Pathologists and radiologists play their part in detecting them, and hey, credit where it's due, but this falls squarely under oncology now. And the fact that the tumor hasn't invaded the myometrium? That is fantastic news. Regardless of what your treatment plan looks like moving forward, your chances for a long-term, total cure are massive. If this shit had to happen, then finding it this early is the silver lining. This is the best possible outcome we could hope for.
Good luck and hang in there—it's all going to work out in the end 🙂🙂🙂

Maria Sanchez59 said:...I took a deep breath and my fingers just locked up, then my facial muscles started cramping. I had these pins and needles sensations passing through me, so they eventually had to call an ambulance...

That’s textbook hypocalcemic tetany—basically, muscle spasms. If it only triggers when you're breathing deeply, it isn't life-threatening. 🙂 Usually, besides the tingling in your hands and feet, you'll get that numbness around the mouth too. You might see a hand cramp where the fingers bend at the knuckles but stay straight at the joints. Or a foot cramp where the foot points down and the toes curl.
If this happens, an effervescent calcium tablet can help. If it works, we've found our culprit. 🙂
If it only hits during deep breathing, the "therapy" is simple: stop breathing so hard for a second or just slow it down. If it starts happening out of nowhere, go see a doctor.

Was she breathing too deeply? Did she feel lightheaded? Has this happened before during other physical or mental strain? It sounds like potential hypocalcemia—low blood calcium—which can be triggered by hyperventilation or various other underlying issues.
It’d be smart for her to see a doctor and get some blood work done, specifically checking her electrolytes, including calcium and magnesium levels. She should tell the doctor exactly what happened, though if she feels awkward, she could just frame it as "physical exertion" to start. But if the doctor presses for specifics, tell her to just be honest. There’s no shame in it. Trust me, the doctor won't laugh; it's their job. They've heard much weirder stories than this.
Hang in there.😉
