Jason Lee2 said:I am beyond irritated by all the "labor war stories" coming from the delivery room. It seems like everyone—and I mean everyone—who knows I'm pregnant feels entitled to give me the gory details about how someone else was in labor for twenty hours, or how they wouldn't dilate, or how doctors had to jump on their stomach because the baby wouldn't descend. Honestly, just chill out. I need this information about as much as I need a root canal. I try my best to ignore this kind of stuff online to avoid feeding my own paranoia, yet in real life, where I don't have an "ignore" button, I’m getting hit by heavy artillery from every direction. And I'm only just getting started. At this rate, I might actually kill someone before the due date.
Oh, tell me about it! Those are exactly the kinds of stories I love hearing! Even though I've already had my kids, the "well-meaning" types always feel the need to pile on way too many details that I really don't care to hear! 🙄
And I especially enjoy it when our dear MM queen herself tells me about women in the neighborhood or whoever else who had tiny babies or lost them just days after birth. For crying out loud! 😠
Honestly, Sveki drove me absolutely crazy regarding baby names during both of my pregnancies. 😠
First time around—we were discussing what to call the little guy, and I suggested John, only for her to chime in with, "Oh, I think Luke sounds so much prettier." Okay... and? 🤷
Then the second time, which is actually right now—we’re talking about names for the baby girl, I suggest Sarah, and she’s back at it again: "Wouldn't Petra have been better? I love that one." It's always the same thing; like, okay, and? WTF?!?!?! 😠
Oh great, mine’s having issues with his timing too! I called him earlier today just to see when he'd be back because I completely forgot to pick up some oil (turns out being pregnant makes things a bit harder 🤣), and he told me he had work until 4:00 and would be home then. I couldn't just head out myself since the baby was sleeping. Of course, I ended up sitting there waiting until 5:20 before he finally showed up with the damn oil. 🙄
I’ve been on my feet since sunrise today—hit the farmer's market, grabbed a coffee 😁, swung by Target, finished all the housework, simmered some soup, and even made homemade noodles from scratch because MM loves them (and I do too, I guess, but still). Then I roasted meat and potatoes, and now I’m about to whip up a damn cheesecake just for myself. I was finally planning to sit down, relax, and treat myself because I am absolutely exhausted, but then everything just ended up scattered all over the floor. 😲😲😲
His comment: Oh, so you think I did that on purpose!?!?!? Well, it would be even better if I actually had! 😠
