Ugh, now I’m actually stressed because this 35th week hit me out of nowhere (I was literally counting down the days!) and my hospital bag is still empty. I haven't even touched the baby clothes yet, and now everything has to happen *right now*, but I just have zero motivation. Then the panic kicks in thinking, "What if I go into labor or my water breaks and I've got nothing ready?" 😲 Plus, I still need to grab a crib and bedding, and we have to get the nursery painted. I need to find space for all this new gear, too—I don't know where it's all going to fit, let alone washing all those little drawers, ughhh 🙂 I just can't deal right now... when is this nesting instinct finally gonna kick in?😕

But man, there is one person who is seriously getting on my nerves. Look, for example—I’m due to give birth in maybe 20 days tops. And my husband just had his birthday. We ended up traveling back to where we grew up so he could celebrate with his friends, because let's be real, those people wouldn't bother driving to Washington, D.C. unless they needed a favor. Whatever. And then there's the godmother's wife—she doesn't just ignore us once in a while, she's constantly blowing us off. She’s always "sick" whenever we try to grab coffee or something. Of course, she didn't show up for the birthday either, and then the godfather has the nerve to drop this hint that we should call them the very next day after lunch to go get coffee... 😕😕😕 Seriously, get lost, you rude piece of work! 😠
Whenever we try to organize a get-together, she acts like a total pain. Then she expects me to be the one to reach out in front of the whole family to grab coffee just because she was "tired" last night??? Please. The woman doesn't even have a job... My own godmother worked from sunrise until 10 PM the day before, and she still showed up that day. Get outta here!
Naturally, we didn't call because I was dealing with some pains and just wanted to head home. I made sure to let everyone down there know, including my parents, that I wasn't coming back until they came to see me. 😳
Who cares? Don't let it get to you. Seriously, don't waste your energy on people like that. What's her excuse for being too exhausted to show up for a celebration? Does she have kids? Is she working a farm or something since she isn't employed? We've all had people like that in our circles, and they always catch us off guard, but eventually, they just stop mattering.

Honestly, the idea of buying maternity clothes sounds exhausting, and my due date is only a month away. What am I even supposed to do in this heat? I’ll need larger sizes soon, but I’m definitely over just wearing sweats and loungewear all day.
Just dragging myself around the house.
It's awful.
During my last pregnancy, I was working right up until the 20th week before my water broke—I felt like I was on high gear. Now? I feel like a total slug.
Same here. Just lying in bed, trying to get a little bit done, though I honestly don't even know how much I'm allowed to do since I'm on bed rest. It sucks. During my first pregnancy, I was unstoppable until the very end. Now, I feel like a tank. For the last month, I've been waddling around like I'm already in labor.
So some census worker showed up at our place yesterday and of course she had to start acting all entitled, like she needed to monitor every single word we said. 😲Right when she walks in, she tells me how beautiful I look being pregnant, and I’m just there beaming and saying thanks, but then my mother-in-law chimes in with "fat pregnant woman." 😠I seriously couldn't believe my ears. The lady just stares at us like, "Uh, wow," while I'm sitting there thinking my MIL actually thought they were going to hit it off. Gross.
Hey everything😠.
So my neighbor was asking about you and how you're doing (not that she knows I’m basically glued to my bed right now on strict doctor's orders). I was like, "What did you tell her?" and she goes, "I told her you were way toothick."
😲
:2up:
Lately, I’ve just been feeling so incredibly down and frustrated because:
1. My body started dilating at 28 weeks, so now I'm stuck on strict bed rest
2. I’ve already put on 26 pounds, even though I promised myself I’d watch my weight this time around
3. I’ve already spotted two stretch marks popping up on my belly
4. This random rash showed up on my face
5. Dealing with brutal constipation was a nightmare—I actually ended up needing a catheter for a few days because I couldn't go
6. I missed the deadline for filing my paperwork, so my disability benefits won't kick in until next month instead of this one
7. Since I’m stuck in bed and both grandmas are still working full-time, I had to enroll my oldest into preschool
8. I’m spiraling thinking about how she'll adjust... I'm terrified she'll cry for me, and my conscience is just eating me alive
9. My husband is working crazy hours all day, so I really can't count on him for much help right now
11. Since I'm stuck in bed all day, I notice every single speck of dust, but I'm not allowed to clean and nobody else can get here to help
12. My hormones are totally wrecking me; I can't stop crying
13. The weather is finally getting beautiful and sunny, but me and my little girl are trapped inside
14. I haven't bought a single thing or even started prepping for the baby yet, and I have no clue when I'll actually be allowed to move around
15. I am honestly terrified that my cervix will keep dilating and they'll end up admitting me to the hospital for the next two months until I deliver
Anthony Watson35 said:Seriously though—has anyone actually dealt with this weight gain thing while maintaining a normal BMI? Because for me, it’s been a total joke. First off, it’s always women 😢 . Second, at least in my experience so far, it's just constant bloating that makes you look more like a bloated balloon than a person (and obviously, no, I'm not pregnant). 🙄
Facts. It's mostly women commenting, usually the ones who are way too thin or way too heavy. They seem totally obsessed with the scale—just watching everyone else gain or lose weight and talking about nothing else.
neonsurfer32 said:Here’s a little tip—when some lady who’s carrying a bit of extra weight asks if you’re having twins, just give her a polite smile and say, "No, actually, it's triplets..." I find it exhausting lugging all this weight around in front of people... so I pair it with a deeply tragic expression. Then, once they've processed that, I'll just glance down at their waistline and ask, "So, how many are you expecting?" Lying to a stranger might be a sin, but seeing the look on their face? Totally worth it. 😠
If she looks like she’s a bit older, swap out the pregnancy question for: "I see those postpartum pounds are still hanging around for you." 😬
Personally, I don't think anyone will ever be brave enough to comment on my size again after that.
Solid advice😉. Now we just need a comeback for those super skinny girls who are also obsessed with body image 😛. Like, I have this coworker, she's over 30, hasn't had a boyfriend in forever, doesn't have a job, stays home, and is way too thin. The whole conversation always turns into how all our school friends gained weight because they got married and had kids and couldn't get back to their old selves, while she's been the exact same weight since high school 🙄.
Honestly, the wildest part about being pregnant has been the constant comments from random people about how I look. Like, who even gave them permission? If you’re pregnant, everyone suddenly thinks they have a VIP pass to critique you out loud in public. "Oh, you've really put on weight," or "No, you didn't gain weight, you just have a huge belly," or "Wow, you're huge, are you having twins?" I heard all that nonsense during my first pregnancy, and now it's happening all over again with this one. Just the other day, I ran into this woman I've maybe met twice—she's a friend of my husband's—and she sees I'm pregnant and asks when the baby is due. I'm being all friendly, telling her I'm due early summer, and she just goes, "Gosh, you're already so big, imagine how huge you'll be by the end!" Like, excuse me?! And this comes from a woman who has two kids and is OBVIOUSLY carrying some extra weight herself. Seriously, if you don't have anything nice to say, just keep it to yourself.
