I suspect the VB16 lineup didn't actually see any more momentum than a Monopoly board game during a rainy weekend.☕

But we should probably get together in the group. 🤔

Elizabeth Mendoza said:In any kind of actual war scenario, you don't need a dog. You just end up babysitting Jandroković instead. If a shell even starts heading toward the building, Njojo will be the first one out the door. He’s got those survival instincts dialed in perfectly.

As the saying goes: only cockroaches and Jandroković can survive a nuclear apocalypse.

Pre-2:00 PM News: At 2:00 PM, the task force will release new data regarding the number of infections and deaths.

The police probably didn't have a clue yet, either.

Furthermore, this was actually announced beforehand. It’s almost certain the patrol was stationed right at the main entrance, so they conveniently "forgot" to check the side entrances.

Back in the nineties, we were baptizing adults en masse; we practically needed a tanker truck to handle all that water.

🤣

Matthew Young35 said:If this one priest is truly the issue, then why hasn't the Church taken any decisive action against him?

Why not just transfer him to a different parish?

It’s not even like the police would overreact... honestly, if it weren't for that whole mess with the reporter, I doubt anyone would have even shown up today.

What exactly are you going to do about that?

🤣

Well, it all comes down to one thing: are you on your own property or not? 😎

Call me crazy, call it a conspiracy theory if you want, but I refuse to believe it’s just a coincidence that this all traces back to San Francisco. It feels calculated. Somehow, every bizarre scandal or piece of bad news coming out of that city gets massive coverage. Whether it's a polished report or just a desperate grab for clicks, there's a pattern here. It’s almost as if there’s a deliberate effort to paint the people there as xenophobic and narrow-minded.
Honestly, I highly doubt we'd see this kind of media frenzy if the exact same story broke in a small town like Des Moines, or maybe somewhere quiet like Boise or even a tiny village in rural Nebraska.

urbanhawk17 said:They have no business touching her or slamming doors to crush her fingers. It’s just pure circus behavior. Neither of them had any reason to be swinging stuff at a reporter's camera or phone.

Well, honestly, it wasn't exactly a shocker, was it? Given how much tension there's been between the press and this group for a while now. And from what I can see, the locals are incredibly tight-knit with their parish.

Matthew Young35 said:To those people claiming we’re being forced into quarantine just because of some "heavy flu"—has it ever occurred to you, even for a fleeting second, that you aren't the ones who are wrong? Perhaps it's actually the people implementing these measures—people who have spent their entire lives studying how to manage infectious diseases—who actually know what they're doing?
Where exactly are you getting your information that this is all harmless? From the very same people who are advocating for the quarantine? Don't you see the glaring logical flaw there?
Every country hit by this epidemic is introducing restrictions based on the recommendations of epidemiologists, not some lunatic dictators. Even someone as erratic as Trump backed down. Johnson did too.
Want to bet that Sweden will end up following suit?

Where does this misplaced confidence come from? The idea that you somehow understand this epidemic and its consequences better than actual epidemiologists?

In my view, the government is handling the infection control aspects quite well, but when it comes to the economy, they are a complete and utter failure.

I think the whole "it's just a bad flu" argument sailed away a long time ago. Even your standard seasonal flu isn't exactly a walk in the park, let alone something more aggressive. Honestly, I was peddling that same line myself until the hysteria finally hit home. Look, it's impossible for the entire global economy to go into a tailspin just because of a slightly stronger flu. As for the fallout, I’m bracing for economic casualties that will far outnumber the actual infections.
Since the virus hasn't mutated into something truly catastrophic yet, we can almost be thankful people view it as a lethal flu for the elderly. It keeps us from having to rely on masked doctors dressed up like plague doctors in those creepy bird masks.

If I’m looking for any silver lining at all, there are two possibilities. First, we might see a spike in the birth rate because, whether people like it or not, humans are driven by primal instincts. They'll find ways to channel that forced proximity—even if they didn't ask for it—into something biological, though perhaps not on such a massive scale. Second, this is an election year. No administration in Washington, D.C. is going to be foolish enough to let massive social unrest or deep divisions tear things apart right when they need stability.

Hmm, it appears that a vast number of media outlets simply fail to grasp the fundamental distinction between something being canceled and something merely being postponed.
