I honestly believe that a major American news outlet—something truly leading and progressive in this part of the world—should take a brave, historic stand here... they should set an example for the rest of the globe instead of just discriminating against those who are different. 👎
I’m proposing a rally in support of Cruel where everyone shows up dressed in dresses. 🙂
I can already see you standing right there in the front row 😁
thanks, *blush*
Anyway—could you please send over the link to that thread about costumes? I'd really appreciate it... thanks in advance 😍
Yes, I was dressed as Cruella de Vil. And now what—some kid thinks I’m obsessed with polka dots...?🤷 I’m hardly a kid... I just have a thing for anything involving Dalmatians and those legendary Disney's movies about them, but it isn't as if I'm actually obsessed with dots 😁 I posted the photography here, in the forum thread for 😁
In that case, we are looking at an off-topic violation rather than actual trolling. The rules clearly distinguish between "off-topic" and "trolling"—along with several other infractions—as distinct types of rule-breaking. Regardless... I am going to post this exact same image in the forum members' thread now. Hopefully, the moderators won't come after me this time.
If that’s truly the only issue at hand, shouldn't the moderator have handled things a bit more... gracefully? Does a simple mistake really warrant an infraction, and does it somehow transform my post into trolling? Just because a thread was placed in the wrong category—does that inherently mean I'm inciting a fight, derailing the conversation, or intentionally sowing discord?
I suppose I should note that my red card was downgraded to a yellow. But for what reason? Simply because I'm a newcomer to Fashion and haven't spent much time in this particular subforum before...
Posting a photo in the wrong thread isn't a crime. This is a matter of principle for me. The real issue is being attacked by the moderator as if I had violated some sacred code, when there isn't a single written rule on the books that I actually broke.
The incident took place within the Fashion subforum. In the thread Fashion Critiques for Brave Forum Ladies, I posted a photo from Halloween where I was dressed as a female film character.
The other women participating in the thread had no idea I was male. Granted, my gender isn't some mystery—it’s clearly stated in my profile. However, my post was deleted, along with several positive comments I had received... all under the pretext of trolling. I attempted to resolve this via private message with the moderator me in Honey, who removed my content and labeled it trolling. Her argument is that my photo violated the subforum rules. When I pressed for specifics, she claimed it was because I am male. But here is the thing—nowhere in the rules of this specific subforum, nor in the guidelines for this particular thread, does it state that men are prohibited from participating. It simply isn't there. Furthermore, the definition of "trolling" is deliberately inciting an argument, disrupting a discussion, or creating discord.... My photography was neither an attempt to incite an argument, nor did it disrupt the discussion, nor did it create any discord. I have thoroughly reviewed the regulations before filing this appeal, and I see no error on my part. As far as I can tell, the photo adhered to every rule governing both the subforum and the thread itself.
Ultimately, I asked the moderator in question which specific rule forbids men from participating in this topic, and more importantly, where I *can* post a photo without the moderators breathing down my neck. To those two questions, I received no answer.
I am requesting a full explanation regarding this entire situation. Why was my photo removed, why was my post branded as trolling, and exactly which written rule did I violate by posting that image in this thread?
The sheer accuracy of your claim serves as yet another testament to the tyranny and absolute whims of the moderators...--
Is it really that difficult for you people to glance at my signature and realize I'm a man? 😁
Anyway... regarding this whole mess:
I’m not even claiming I opened this thread in the wrong subforum. But locking a thread without so much as a word of explanation—that is just extreme. Why couldn't you have simply moved the post to the correct section instead of shutting it down entirely?
Furthermore, I have serious grievances with the rules themselves. These "rules"—as I've mentioned—are pedantic nonsense, obsessing over trivialities like whether a math problem belongs under "natural science" or within "rescue assistance." Apparently, violating such a sacred decree is a mortal sin that warrants the immediate destruction of the thread 🙄 as if the fact that I needed an urgent answer for a school assignment—something affecting my actual grade—is completely irrelevant to anyone here 🙄 The rule-breaker should be the one failing their class, right? Who cares about that, apparently. Is that how it works?!
Like I said—these rules are nothing more than nitpicking over trifles, like insisting a topic shouldn't be in the main forum but tucked away in some obscure sub-subforum. And where is the rule against escalating tension, provoking other users, derailing discussions, leaking private information, or engaging in insults and slander?! There are plenty of cases involving that kind of behavior over in the "all sorts" forum. Where is the rule prohibiting *that*? Where are the moderators who actually penalize those individuals?! The moderators won't lift a finger unless someone starts pulling them by the skirt and screaming, "Lock that garbage thread!" So please, have the decency to admit that posting in the wrong section is considered a greater offense than everything I just listed in this paragraph. 🙄
This silence is the absolute peak of arbitrary tyranny and sheer rudeness from the moderator team!! If a thread is posted in the wrong subforum, why on earth is it so difficult for you gentlemen to simply MOVE the topic instead of locking it? Or at least provide a single post explaining the reasoning behind the closure. I ask here—and get nothing—and then I'm left wondering... what the hell is actually going on with this forum?! Shouldn't your primary concern be maintaining a pleasant atmosphere and ensuring user satisfaction? Of course not—you have plenty of users to throw at you, so you couldn't care less. It’s no wonder things stay this way... I needed the answer to that thread for my schoolwork, and it was genuinely urgent, yet you just lock the thread 🙄 without a word of explanation—which isn't even the worst part—but then you have the audacity to remain silent when I ask for clarification right here. Could you really not have just moved it, or offered some sort of reason? You prioritize nitpicking trivialities like a misplaced subforum, while the actual garbage existing on this site gets swept under the rug.
Let me give you an example:
Nobody seems to care about the provocations, slander, and insults directed at certain individuals by one specific group of users over in the "all sorts" subforum—and likely elsewhere too. Not a single moderator bothers to shut down those threads or issue warnings to the spammers who exist solely to provoke and escalate tension. Yet, it's vital that a perfectly normal thread, one that doesn't provoke anyone, gets locked without any explanation whatsoever.
😠😠😠😠😠😠😠😠😠
Why on earth has this thread been locked?
😠😠😠😠😠😠😠😠😠😠
Your attachment to your own creative work isn't some flaw you need to fix—honestly, don't even try to strip that feeling away. In many ways, it’s actually safer to be tethered to your art than to people... because objects and materials can't break your heart, whereas people certainly can. Now, while I might not be capable of practicing my own theory in practice—admittedly a bit of a hypocrite there—I know for a fact that the logic holds true. And remember this: the ultimate masterpiece is simply the one the creator actually likes. If you find value in what you make, that’s the only metric that matters; the opinions of others are largely irrelevant noise. If someone tries to label you a mere materialist or claims your work lacks merit, just tune them out. True materialism—if you have the capacity to achieve it—is actually quite a blessing 😉
