It’s never going to fully go away...
I’m speaking from my own lived experience here.
The pain won't just vanish, but you have to learn how to live alongside it. It is absolutely vital—and I mean crucial—to shut down any sense of guilt or shame. This might sound a bit blunt, but if we're being honest, it's the reality of the situation.🙂Regardless of the fact that he was your father, he was still his own person, an individual who made a massive, life-altering decision without considering how that choice would ripple out and impact the lives of those closest to him.
What I mean is, I've walked a similar path, and the one thing you really need to hold onto is this: after everything settles, you should try to view this tragedy as a compass. Use it as a guide to become an even better, more complete, and stronger version of yourself. Isn't that ultimately what your father would have wanted for you? Try to find that inner strength on this journey... I promise you, it is definitely there. Rem.
