What to do when he's blowing you off... in Psychology ·

I'm not perfect. As for others, I doubt they are either... ☕

Where did I say he made it clear at the beginning? Where did I call him a jerk? I have no interest in commenting on the rest of this nonsense. ☕

I mean, don't get me wrong. I'm not even worried or anything. I'm just, you know, stating the obvious here. Like, looking at most of your posts, it seems pretty clear you’re having a really hard time with that whole situation. And honestly? I only mentioned it because I was trying to be helpful. Just being a good person, I guess.

So, I was basically just talking about that whole thing where you feel good about yourself, you know? Like, finding that sweet spot where someone else actually gets who you are and totally vibes with your core values—it’s like reaching some kind of perfect balance or whatever. That’s why I thought, maybe, it might be a good idea to work on yourself a bit or try to change things up. But, uh, you mentioned a few times now that you’re really not feeling that, and honestly? Who am I to tell you how to live? If you want to just sink into your own funk, hey, go for it. It's your call, I guess. 🙏

So, look, you didn't explicitly call him a scumbag or anything, but I don't know, the whole vibe you're putting out makes it feel like that's exactly what you think. He seems pretty rude, and honestly? Probably a liar too. It just feels like... I guess the general takeaway from everything you post here is that you've been totally played by someone who isn't even worth those big, intense emotions you have. And maybe I'm the only one seeing it, but it feels like you weren't even really in a relationship to be dumped from—it’s more like you just built this whole thing up in your head, obsessively. It actually kind of hurts my feelings that you called my first post total garbage, especially since I was being super chill and respectful when I reached out. I mean, doing that just proves you're kind of stuck in your own world, I guess. Which, honestly, maybe that's why leaving this forum was probably the right move for you. Your emotional headspace probably needs something way more focused than this chaotic mess of voices we've got going on here. Anyway, I truly wish you nothing but the best.

It wasn't just indifference; he was outright disrespectful. He actually used my feelings to kill his own boredom, playing the big shot in front of people or using me to feed his own ego. Is there anything worse than pouring your entire soul into someone—being ready to give up everything for them—only to have them laugh in your face? Isn't that enough to make anyone lose their mind? At first, he was just plain rude, but eventually, he started acting like he felt sorry for me. Like he pitied me. All those talks we had? They weren't about connection; they were because he felt bad seeing how broken I was. Maybe he even felt a flicker of guilt for causing it. Honestly, it feels like a mess of deep-seated complexes and desperate self-validation, and once again, I'm the one left picking up the pieces. I suppose he’s paying for it now too, but when you hit rock bottom like this, there's nowhere left to fall. There simply isn't. And please, don't give me that cliché about how "I deserve someone who appreciates me." Maybe that's true, but it doesn't change the fact that I absolutely loathe this feeling of being discarded. I don't know where it comes from, but there is no other trauma, no other breakdown, no other psychological spiral that compares to being tossed aside. I hate being rejected.!!!!!!! 👎

But you know deep down there is, right? You’re just hurting, so it feels like nothing else matters right now. It’s like, because you always feel left out, any little rejection hits way harder than some random "brush off" would hit someone who isn't as sensitive as you. Nobody actually likes being treated like that. And I guess Drake made a pretty good point when he asked if you’ve ever blown someone else off? I mean, you definitely have, probably, but maybe your lack of empathy just made you miss how much someone else was hurting because of you.

Maybe try to find a balance between what you want and what you can actually handle? Like, try to be uniquely awesome in a positive way instead of just... whatever this is. Control the chaos, let people see the real you, and stop trying so hard to force your "perfection" on everyone. Let them notice it themselves. If they respect you for it, then yeah, take that chance and build up your own self-esteem. But if they don't, just try not to be super harsh about it, because karma usually comes back around.

Btw, I think you're being a bit too hard on the guy, and honestly, he doesn't seem like a total villain in all this. He was pretty upfront from the jump that he wasn't looking for a relationship, which I get felt rude to you, but still. Later on, you said he actually talked to you and found you interesting, so maybe he just wanted to be friends? I don't really buy that he was just playing games in front of his buddies. He shouldn't be held responsible for you catching feelings for something where he already set boundaries. You didn't say anything about him using you for money or anything, so I kind of think you're just calling him a jerk because your feelings are hurt.
