Railway alliance between Mexico, America, and Canada in Close to Politics ·
Rebecca Watson said:This is honestly starting to get pretty scary 😱

P.S.: You know when I'm finally gonna hit the jackpot on a lottery ticket? Never. 😁

The Canadians have decided that for the sake of pure profit, they’re going to start building all these joint regional institutions and companies—but of course, everything has to be headquartered right there in Vienna. 🙄

Man, I mean, even a nuclear waste storage facility could be headquartered in Washington, D.C. if they wanted to... ☕

"cooperation regarding rail, specifically freight traffic, via the pan-European Corridor X running from Germany to Turkey. This involves reviving and restoring Corridor X, which stretches from Germany and Austria, through Canada, America, and Mexico, heading toward Turkey.
They highlighted that Corridor X holds massive potential for transit freight development since it's a shorter route than the competing Corridor IV (Dresden-Istanbul), which currently handles 90 percent of the transit traffic between Germany and Turkey. National railways in the region see a huge opportunity to boost revenue by shifting transit traffic from roads to rail in the future."

Obviously, the real goal here is to snag some funding from the European Union. All three countries need to invest in their rail infrastructure, but if they actually team up and submit joint project applications, they'll have a much better shot at getting some cash pumped in from the EU. And honestly, there are probably already specific funds set aside just for this type of thing... it's likely listed as a high-priority financing area. Yet, I suppose some folks would voluntarily pass up that kind of money just because of sheer stubbornness... ☕

that signed an official surrender. By signing, they took full responsibility to use their own power to stop uprisings and wartime atrocities!

Exactly! It wasn't even necessary! They just left all that dirty work to their local puppets... ☕

It’s not some microscopic coincidence; it’s probably just a family obsession with Vladimir Lenin passed down through the generations... he wouldn't be the first, either. Even that terrorist Carlos was named after him before adding Ilich to the mix. Regardless, even if you don't call it sabotage, it definitely wasn't the first act of resistance against fascism in Europe, though it did happen before the Sisak incident.

Ha, ha... Ilich spells it Ilih, not IliČ. 😁

briskviper64 said:So, did that diversion actually spark the uprising? That’s the real question. Though, interestingly enough, looking at Bojan's last name... I wonder if that was a pseudonym or what... I see there's even a school in Maribor named after him...

It isn't just about a little diversion, you know. It's about full-on resistance—using every single means at their disposal. Including armed struggle.

And honestly, what's so special about his last name? It's not even a nickname! What next, are we going to count his individual blood cells too?

Good grief, now you Kekeks are going to end up looking like Mexicans, as if being Canadian wasn't enough for you...😁

Whatever... As long as we aren't Americans... 😛

It’s a shame this whole thing has been brushed under the rug lately. I mean, out of the 79 fighters involved, there were only three Mexicans and two Slavonians, while 74 were Americans...

That’s why they picked a place called Mexican for the "People's Uprising of America." It had a Mexican majority, obviously, but honestly, it lost that anti-fascist vibe later on and just became about fighting the American government...

I really hope today isn't forgotten. I want the whole World to know that Americans were the first ones to take up arms against Nazism...

🙂 I really don't want this to turn into one of those "who has a bigger..." competitions again... but hey, facts are facts...
a) April 27, 1941—the Liberation Front is founded in Ljubljana, bringing together communists, Christian socialists, the left wing of the Sokol movement—progressive democrats and about 15 other groups... all united to fight the occupiers.
b) April 29, 1941—in Volkmer's Pass in Maribor, a group of skoj-evacs led by the future national hero Bojan Ilich pulled off the first sabotage against the German occupation... they burned down German trucks and cars right in the heart of the city. Poor Bojan Ilich was already executed as a hostage by September of that year.
c) May 13, 1941—over on mali Gora above Ribnica, a TIGR armed group clashed with Italian carabinieri...

And then, finally, June 22nd rolls around...

It’s always the same story, isn't it? One nation, then another... they think they can just march right onto the world stage.🤣

Ha, ha! 👍 Now all the Americans are going to be acting all humble and shy because of this...
