Roger Fowler bluecyclist64 said:You really have to possess a certain level of mental fortitude to remain indifferent when some random stranger on the internet throws a targeted insult your way. It takes a specific kind of discipline to stay unmoved by those digital jabs.

It is not a matter of individual personality; it is simply a question of the self-evident truth.
It appears nothing is being written. bluecyclist64 For one's own sake.

It seems some people are feeling particularly sensitive lately. It isn't exactly pleasant to witness the gatekeepers of this private forum—former writers who have essentially dropped anchor and decided to play doctor—diagnosing everyone else as patients.
It strikes me as an irresistible parallel to the infamous psychological experiments where subjects were conditioned to serve as guards over their fellow patients. The premise was simple yet devastatingly effective: you are categorized as a patient only if you fail to conform to the standards of "us."

It is impossible to avoid noticing identity. 😉

It is quite expected, really. One always encounters those distorted, twisted messages from the perpetually enraged and misguided.

I find it hard to believe he's actually that spineless...

The data might hold up, but we're dealing with something else entirely here: when a moderator loses their temper and a blind idiot hands out a ban, everyone suddenly develops amnesia. First, because they're all just protecting one another, and second, because finding new moderators—especially ones this incompetent—is a tall order.
The owner doesn't dare show his face or apologize on behalf of that arrogant little punk, likely because he's terrified of losing him. He fails to realize that for a non-entity like that, being a moderator is probably the greatest achievement of his miserable life, and he'll be clawing at anything to keep it.

And you, Jerry Robinson56, please don't bother defending or praising Nico. A few days ago, I requested that the ban be overturned since the owner isn't stepping in, but she’s playing dumb, just like anyone else who might actually have the authority to fix this.

... I am neither defending nor praising her; there is simply no necessity for it. She understands my perspective on her. If she is capable of acting, she will. It isn't a matter of whether she can or wants to.
One cannot be blamed when the heart refuses to surrender, can one? 🙂

I would advise against leaving them constantly powered on. It is an unnecessary drain on resources. Even when they are physically connected, the software is perfectly capable of spinning them down if they aren't actively being utilized. There is simply no reason to let them run idle. Furthermore, one must remember that most archival drives typically operate at a mere 5400 RPM.
To be perfectly honest, I have seen 7200 RPM drives continue to operate flawlessly for over two decades without a single bad sector. In my experience, even after years of heavy lifting in professional video editing suites, they hold up remarkably well. Drives specifically engineered for video recording equipment tend to be quite reliable.
In my experience, Toshiba has proven to be quite reliable.

Just download HD Sentinel; that software will provide you with a sufficiently detailed breakdown regarding whatever issues your drive is experiencing.

My sincere apologies, bluecyclist64, I have been waiting for days... but I am certain it won't happen, Nice is truly exceptional. I should have received the partial update here sooner.
As you are well aware, even the head of the department won't show up. You know it too. Hope dies when you are forced to admit such things. Imagine how much more crushing that feels in reality.
Carry on 😁 ..we shall die on our feet, as we always have😉

Perhaps Casey Bennett will make an effort among "her own." It isn't hope; I simply manipulated her 😁

I deceived her (it was done out of love, purely to create a surprise) and I still have a few pink tricks up my sleeve... 🕺

That is exactly my point.

I’ll leave that ongoing nonsense about being beautiful yet foolish completely unaddressed, if only to spare you any further embarrassment.

I’ve had quite enough of dealing with these aggressive types who act like they’ve swallowed every ounce of wisdom on the planet just so they can look down on everyone else here. It's honestly pathetic how people think being a single smart aleck makes them superior to the rest of us.
And you continue to harp on about these moderators who clearly haven't the slightest clue what they're doing; they are utterly incompetent. Honestly, it’s enough to give me a heartache! 🙂

😍

None of that, Dubo... honestly, I recall you "jumping down my throat" once before over a post you clearly misread right here on the forum—something about complaints regarding playing cards, if I recall correctly. And believe me, I remember those lyrics by heart. Four entire pages, all written in lowercase... how utterly tedious.
I am not the original author of this thread; I simply decided to jump in.

Well... do you actually need the link? I suppose I could track it down for you if it's necessary, but I'll leave that up to your discretion. wearybison63 You can bear witness to that, since you were the one who suggested that if I happen to stumble upon anything immoral in his posts, you would bring me back into your good graces.
Given that "maleni2" is apparently such a phenomenon—though I don't actually read his work, I can certainly grasp his general approach—I began to suspect that your defensive posture was merely a reaction to my previous post. It seems another user had to step in to clarify that my intentions weren't what you assumed they were. There was even a brief, fleeting suggestion of a connection between the two of you; given that you both possess an extraordinary level of intellect, one might expect fewer lapses in judgment. It’s a shame, really; he isn't your son, after all.

You clearly misunderstood me; my intention was to offer praise. However, looking at your contributions to this forum, it is painfully obvious that you have opted for automation over any semblance of true sensibility or nuance. While bluecyclist64 certainly has a knack for being crude, I suppose there is an educational value to be found in it.
Whether one chooses to acknowledge it or not, the reality remains unchanged: sheep simply exist to train others to become sheep.

Well now... one really has to wonder: are you as beautiful as you are good? 😁 Truly.

Incorrect. I received all four solely because I refused to compromise on the truth. The primary issue here is one of verification. Looking back at both then and now... I will allow myself some latitude in my expression, as I have no intention of discussing the specific PDF document that resulted in my being banned.
To provide a brief illustration: I am forced to endure this supposed "audiophile" expert who, despite forty years of industry experience, lacks even the most fundamental understanding of what a VU meter actually is. Or consider the engineer who remains utterly clueless regarding tau in relation to gradients, blindly snapping together electronic circuit components like they are nothing more than Lego bricks. This individual operates without any actual comprehension of the underlying mechanics, trapped as they are within a primitive, decimal-based perception of numbers, completely oblivious to the utility of hexadecimal. 😉
When you choose to insult intelligence or disregard reality... that is when you truly cross the line with me.
Well now, that is quite kind of you... I truly appreciate the sentiment.
I believe I was more than fair in my proposal to resolve those ten "impossible" dilemmas posed by the users in this domain, and to reinstate the user route 99. It seems to me his status stalled at three due to sudden outbursts of vulgarity and subsequent deletions.
(To be clear, I have absolutely no personal connection to him; however, everyone insisted we were clones simply because the man possessed the intellect and honesty to stand against a crowd of subjectivists.)

And yes, darling, I am perpetually aware that smarter individuals exist—I say this constantly—yet I encounter them quite rarely. Still, I recognize them when I "see" them.

I have never once declared anyone stupid, nor do I hold such views. It is unseemly to write like that; one might start behaving foolishly if the era of polite, soft-handed decorum has vanished.
That said, I can certainly make an assessment of intelligence if one has attended MIT or Caltech... 🕺

News from the entire region and everywhere else—including Russia, naturally. Totally objective, obviously!!1! 😉

*I'm also a moderator for the AV tech section 😁

I suppose I should commend you for adopting lowercase letters at the start of your sentences—the very ones you were shoving in my face (four whole pages, mind you, wasn't it?)—but we are dealing with a different matter entirely. Given your history of moderators who bear a striking resemblance to AndrejX... (the data is well known, as any observer would note), perhaps they ought to recalibrate their aim. Even with the best intentions—though I make no claim to having read them, merely drifting toward this topic due to a narrow margin of maneuver (out of caution, 😁)—whenever an intelligent individual opens a thread, such as bluecyclist64.

As for the news... does anything exist besides disinformation?

Aside from being attractive, do try to be more intelligent, considering those aspirations toward the red side, rather than presenting yourself like some sort of simpleton.
Moderators should be the elite, while the rest of the rabble remains in some sort of garden of Eden... doesn't it strike you that things should be thus?

Furthermore, the denial of crimes that are visible nowhere except in the accumulated delusions of certain individuals—is that our current state? A psychoanalysis of the forum users' character 🤔... rules apply to the moderators as well, do they not?
Perhaps you are simply too "young"... what was happening back in Vietnam? Regardless, crimes must always be sanctioned to prevent misunderstanding...

Don't fret over the pink high heels... 😉

That is hardly a point of praise, given that you remain ignorant of such elementary matters. 😘

Oh, how delightful to generalize with you... (strictly for your eyes only)... you were just waiting for me, weren't you?

A magnificent CD from that French duo back in '92... I remember a dear friend of mine brought it over all the way from France back then.
Just plug it into your computer—using a USB drive works perfectly fine—and run the installation directly onto the device. Once the process wraps up, a menu will automatically pop up asking you which specific version you want to deploy.
I have to admit, I’ve never been much of a fan of Windows 10...
Alternatively, you can carry the Windows 7 installer on a flash drive (a 4 GB drive will get the job done, though I'd suggest at least 8 GB just to be safe) and boot everything straight from the stick.
After that, you just type a few simple commands in DOS to grant the USB drive primary control—it's incredibly straightforward—and then you can sit back and relax; the system handles the rest of the heavy lifting on its own.
