The instrumentals are great, I guess. But honestly? My first thought when hearing the lyrics was Twilight. 🙂 A pun about Company of Wolves and cosmichawk12? I guess that's just great. 😁

It’s from the new album. If not now, when? It had the potential to be a masterpiece, but they stretched it way too thin.

S.C.I.E.N.C.E. is easily their best album. I still find myself spinning it all the time, even years later. Honestly, I think I hear it differently now than I did ten years ago. Maybe that's just how it goes.

I haven't really been actively listening to them lately, though I suppose I could brush up on their discography. Regardless, it’s a far cry from saying I wouldn't want to catch them live.

Exactly. Such a shame about Vienna. 😢

The decade between 2000 and 2010 produced such an insane amount of high-quality cinema that you’d have to be blind not to notice. I’m certainly not going to sit here and list them all out, though.

The topic is... 👎 ...just like the author's own observations and thoughts (go ahead and read the opening post). 🙄

I think the whole issue boils down to expectations and standards. As you get older, it just gets harder to actually impress anyone, let alone surprise them. Getting that genuine "aha!" moment or offering a fresh perspective on something old and familiar? That’s tough. But I guess we still keep chasing it anyway. 🤷

In that sense, and assuming Michael Parker92 is focused on the Hollywood film industry, sure, there were plenty of decent movies, but damn, there were so few truly incredible ones.

What has to happen? It’s a damn good story with multi-layered characters. Right now, it feels like indie films and international cinema are just outperforming everything else.
Fate in Philosophy ·
People love using "fate" as a convenient excuse to stay unengaged. They use it to justify things they can't wrap their heads around, or just to make dealing with life's highs and lows a little easier.

Sure, some things are just weird coincidences or outcomes with insanely low odds. But even if everything really is predestined, I guess that’s still no excuse to just sit there like a passive observer in your own life, right?

hollowtinker18 said:Why does this forum turn into such a toxic mess of ego trips every other day?
Why is everyone so obsessed with winning an argument at any cost?
Why the desperate need to play the smartest guy in the room just to tear someone else down?
Is looking brilliant really the only thing that matters here?
And why all the petty gossip? It’s clearly just a way for weak people to mask their own flaws by dragging others through the mud.
Or maybe it’s just because disagreeing with someone triggers a sudden barrage of insults and cheap ad hominem attacks.
What's the deal?
Are we just wired this way—treating every single conversation like some kind of zero-sum game?

It's because, honestly, there isn't much of a culture of actual discussion in our society. People tend to see any disagreement with their logic as a personal attack or a reason to start a fight.

We should be able to agree to disagree, and my truth doesn't have to be yours. 🙂
