God, I am so over all this "unsolicited advice." It’s driving me insane. I don’t even ask for anyone's opinion, yet people just start lecturing me out of nowhere. It starts with the most basic, patronizing stuff—like, "Oh, you shouldn't eat that," or "Actually, you can have this, but not that!" (when I was doing everything perfectly fine before!). Maybe it sounds a little mean, but it’s seriously getting under my skin how everyone treats me like I’m some fragile porcelain doll just because I’m sick. Heaven forbid I try to lift anything heavier than a spoon or a glass without someone hovering... and then, the second I actually *need* a hand with something? Suddenly, everyone’s busy or playing dumb! And now the commentary on driving while pregnant has started. Am I supposed to just stop driving altogether?? Why??? Because nobody can give me a straight answer!!
But honestly, the absolute worst part: I’ll be venting about how pissed off I was earlier that day, and someone will just chime in with, "Hiii! Oh, you shouldn't be angry right now!" Like, excuse me? Who asked you? I just shut up and walked away.
And currently, the entire neighborhood is acting like they’re experts on my due date!! Everyone is convinced I’m going to go into labor at least two weeks early just because my bump is huge, and it’s so incredibly annoying. All their guessing is just adding unnecessary pressure to my life!!!
stormygardener28 said:It honestly drives me crazy that I end up staining every single shirt I own with food; I suppose it’s just because my stomach makes it impossible to lean in close enough to the table while I'm eating.
hahaha so it’s not just me then? Honestly, it's getting embarrassing... always walking around covered in stains and the absolute worst part is when I don't even realize it until later!!!

What exactly do you mean by that?
I was wondering if any of you all have ever actually tried hiring photographers and videographers from two separate studios for a wedding? I’m curious how that usually turns out in the end—does it work out okay, or is it a bit of a mess?
I checked out the work from Zoe Photography and Blic Photography in Savannah—saw both the photos and the videos. Honestly, they’re both great, and the prices aren't half bad either.
Gregory Barnes said:Has anyone here actually used the catering services over at Nutrition-Bulgarian in Indianapolis??
Does anyone know what kind of pricing they charge based on guest count, and what's actually included in their packages? I've been scouring the web, but I can't find a single thing online.
Thanks 🙏
Honestly, your best bet is just to hit them up via email or Facebook to get a custom quote. As far as the food and their overall service goes, we were beyond happy with them.
Jamie Newman10 said:Can I pick your brains for a second? I’m trying to figure out the math on how many lambs and pigs we actually need for a wedding reception with 350 guests in a banquet hall, followed by a lunch the next day for about 120 people. Everyone keeps telling me that 8 lambs and maybe 4 or 5 pigs should be plenty... apparently, there's this unofficial rule of thumb floating around that says you need one lamb for every 50 people and one pig for every 100.
What’s your take on this? How much meat are you all planning to order? I really need to get these orders placed soon, so I’d love to hear any experiences or opinions you might have...
That’s actually enough. We had 300 people at our thing and we only did 7 lambs and 3 pigs, and that was even with over 100 people showing up for the lunch the next day!!!
copperwolf122 said:So, I ended up booking Zoom... and honestly, the people they photographed are saying they’re great. They get the job done professionally and the shots aren't bad at all. Though, if I'm being real, Andrej Car is way better for photos. He works with them sometimes, but unfortunately, he was already booked for my date, so I just went with Zoom without him... I'll know more after May 24th...🙂
That was our experience too. But in the end, we were actually really happy with Zoom!!!
Patrick Morris6 said:Hey everyone! I feel like I've been waiting forever for this moment—honestly, longer than I spent picking out my wedding dress—just to finally be here and help out some other stressed-out brides-to-be. 🙂
Here’s the report:
Looks like we had about 65 guests show up. Maybe a decent turnout? Just immediate family and my absolute closest friends—it’s gonna be a wedding to remember!
Zoe Kravitz The old venue downtown—it can hold over 200 people easily, but you can probably break it down into smaller groups if you need to. They’ve got this gorgeous new hall now, too. I guess this page is pretty cool, maybe? Just checking things out!
It’s also got a place to stay right nearby, which was huge for me since we had guests coming in from all over the New York City area. The rooms are honestly gorgeous, plus the newlyweds get their own apartment!
Goldman Sachs photo studio They're super cheap, you can probably haggle on just about anything, and honestly? They’re just really, really good. 🙂 They’re giving each couple their own special moment, which I think is such a cool idea! You can check out all the photos and videos on Facebook or directly on their website.
Maybe they'll bend, I guess.I guess there’s really only one, honestly. One hundred percent.I guess there’s really no point in even hyping them up anymore. Honestly, I haven't heard a single bad thing about them—it's just non-stop praise. They did such an amazing job covering Bob Dylan, Mickey Mouse, and Bruce Springsteen that everyone was literally turning their heads because they couldn't believe who was singing. As if I actually have the cash to fly in John Smith or anything! 😁)
She's such an amazing singer! Honestly, I guess you won't regret checking her out at all!!!
Hey everyone, just wanted to grab your attention for a sec...General Electric They’re honestly the best, most amazing, and most genius band I've ever heard! These guys play everything so well, from the mandolin to Beyoncé to even some old-school classics. 😁He actually took my Coors from me right in front of the church, and honestly? It was better than his... I guess people were wondering why they couldn't just keep hanging out at the lounge.😂
Wedding season, I guess.Even though I was pretty sure I’d end up with some cheap knockoff from overseas, my eBay find actually turned out great. I didn't get the curtain rod with it, though, so I guess we had to struggle a bit to DIY one ourselves...
Flowers: Trader Joe's I was at the local farmers market, and I actually saw sunflowers everywhere—I don't know who said they weren't in season yet, but they were definitely there! The bouquet was just gorgeous and really caught everyone's eye. The table arrangements looked great too, and our centerpiece was super cute with those little floating fairy lights, tiny sunflowers, and ribbons... honestly, everything was such a steal.
Maybe just some rosemary? I guess.Maybe it was Emma from Springfield (we even got some for free!)
Maybe some cookies? I guess.I don't even need to bring it up, I guess. BrooklynPeople were saying it was the best iced wind they've ever had, and honestly, the cake looked pretty amazing too.
Decorations: Good partnerI guess they have a warehouse out in Indianapolis. Their website is actually pretty great. All the other shops buy from them, including Microsoft, and of course, they probably charge double...
Shoes, a ring box, some garters (got an extra pair just in case), jewelry... I grabbed everything on eBay, mostly from the UK, and it should be here in about five days.
Rings.I guess I wouldn't really think about handing that kind of cash over to big jewelry chains. Hit me up in the DMs if you want the info.
I guess Smith's drinking. If you aren't planning some massive wedding and don't feel like driving across the border, I guess Smith is actually a pretty solid choice. It’s cheaper than all the big retail chains, and you can even return unopened sodas, which is pretty handy.
Hair and makeup: LeonilaI guess both work, though the makeup was a little heavy for my taste. I don't really wear much myself, so I might not be the best judge, but they have a Facebook page where you can check out the photos. I can't really access external Facebook links like that, I guess. Maybe try copying the text here instead? I'd love to help you out!
Oh yeah, some local moonshine straight from Brooklyn. 🙂 Everyone—including my friends from the Midwest and down in Florida—said they’ve never had anything like this before. They seriously polished off every last drop.
Little decorative jars, wedding favors, and fancy table bottles: Bumble Inc. is honestly the best. They were super helpful and went out of their way for me since I'm all the way from Seattle...
I think that's everything, I probably missed something here or there, but oh well.
Hopefully this helped at least a little bit! Good luck everyone, and if I can give one piece of advice all women get when they tie the knot—don't even bother stressing about it 😁
It was raining on and off during my photo shoot and back home too, and I totally stepped on my dress, but honestly, I had an absolute blast!
Ugh, we did the exact same thing. I was beyond happy with Trader Joe's—the florist made my bouquet look exactly like the photo I handed her, and she put everything together perfectly, and the price was totally fine!! As for the desserts from Brooklyn, they were great for us. We actually lost quite a few plates that we had to return, but they didn't end up charging us because we bought so many sweets, which, honestly, is kind of a win. You save on the cost and it's just one less thing to worry about!!!
Andrew James2 said:I’m looking for some solid recommendations for a wedding photographer who can handle a larger crowd—we’re expecting roughly 300 guests. Ideally, I'd love to find someone located within the Indianapolis Metropolitan Area 😁. Also, does one typically need to book these professionals a full year in advance, or is it possible to secure someone just a few months before the big day? Thanks!
Zoom Studios in Indy,
either Andrew Car or
Mark Šarić—who, if I recall correctly, mostly does solo shooting, but man, his work is incredible...
Honestly, though? You better book ASAP if you want to be safe.
Grace Kern55 said:Hey there, all my future brides out in Indianapolis,
I’m curious—what kind of experiences have you guys had dealing with local caterers for those pre-wedding send-offs at home?
So far, I’ve looked into an offer from Nutrition (Bugarin), but I’m wondering if anyone else has some solid recommendations. I’m looking for a full-service setup where they handle everything—think buffet style with meat platters, plus the tables, silverware, glassware, and actual servers to run the show...
Honestly, Bugarin is the gold standard! We used them for our thing and they absolutely crushed it.
bluetiger332 said:A quick heads-up for any brides-to-be out there: don't let what happened to me happen to you. Whatever you do, stay far away from Victoria's Secret based out of Indianapolis. You run a serious risk of her just being a complete no-show on your big day. I’m writing this only a week after my wedding, and I’m still processing the sheer audacity of it all. We had everything locked in—makeup and hair—months in advance. I even spoke with her on the phone the day before and again on the actual morning of the wedding. Everything seemed perfectly fine, or so I thought. And then, boom. Total radio silence. She didn't show up, and she wouldn't even pick up the phone when we started calling frantically. I was honestly speechless. On a day that is already high-stakes and incredibly stressful, the last thing you need is someone blowing you off like this. To make matters worse, I’ve just realized that I am definitely not alone here; so many other girls have dealt with the exact same nightmare. It is absolutely infuriating.
I feel like I’ve heard this story at least 15 times now. It’s absolutely horrific!! Why would anyone take on so many clients if they can't actually show up? Just be honest and say no! Don't pull this kind of garbage on people!!!
cosmicnomad22 said:I actually picked up something pretty similar last year over at IKEA $1.75/each
so yeah, they've got them at IKEA
Jamie Newman10 said:Yeah, I actually pulled the trigger and booked them this past Saturday. They’re charging 4 $0.00 plus some travel expenses, which isn't exactly breaking the bank depending on how many miles we have to clock, and then there's the extra stuff like the thank-you gifts $1.75 pieces...
Honestly, for the package they’re offering at 4 $0.00, you get a ton of value, and I’m feeling pretty good about the decision.
I actually checked out their work a couple of years back when my cousin was doing her wedding for 3 $267, and I was seriously impressed—they were happy too. The album is stunning, the photos are spot on, and the DVDs are just as good.
The thing is, we’re going to have to schedule our shoot earlier—probably about four months before the big day since we're coming from different parts of the country—but the photographer over at Zoom said that wouldn't be an issue at all...
They seem incredibly flexible, and they really know how to handle their business.
If anyone asks me for a recommendation, I’m definitely pointing them toward these guys—the price point and the quality are both right where they need to be.
They've shot for us before too, and so far, we've been really happy with them.
dustytinker58 said:I heard a little while back that they have up to 50% off on suits and other apparel in Indianapolis, out in the Midwest, so there you go... I've never actually been there myself, so I can't speak to the selection or the quality, but I've heard great things since it's an American-made brand.🙂
Look, they bought me a suit at Microsoft in New York City—way more variety there than you'd find in Indy. Honestly, even if you do head out to Indy, you're better off hitting up Fifth Avenue for anything decent
Brian Grant9 said:Alright, I’m jumping in here too:
Does anyone know if there are any decent sales going on for wedding suits over in Cleveland right now? A buddy was telling me it might be smart to snag a deal at Galileo, but I have no clue if those promos are still live—plus, Cleveland isn't exactly a quick drive for us since we're coming from Brod.
Second thing on my mind: tiaras. Where can I find the cheapest ones, specifically that wider style?
Thirdly: decorating the cars for the guests. We aren't really feeling those tacky, oversized shiny bows, so I'm looking for some better alternatives. Has anyone here actually DIY'd their own unique bows or decorations? If so, where's the best place to grab supplies without getting totally ripped off?
Hey, we actually swung by Galileo today and they've got a 30-50% off sale running right now.
Bryan Rodriguez77 said:👋 I can personally recommend a group I hired last summer; they played for my friend's wedding right after mine, and they were absolutely phenomenal.
I'm talking about The Joker—I truly can't say enough good things about them, and they are worth every single penny. If I had to choose again, I’d pick them in a heartbeat.
The only catch is that they are also incredibly busy; I managed to snag them just by putting down a deposit early.
Honestly, I think the key is just making sure you're on the same page with whoever you hire. I heard the same thing about The Joker being great, but then a friend told me she went to a wedding where they played and nobody was even dancing—just some random, mediocre songs. It really comes down to the contract and what you actually agree on. Plus, it depends on your guests, and let's face it, you can't please everyone anyway!
Kevin Smith7 said:What would you all suggest,
The Beatles or maybe The Beach Boys or perhaps even a local wedding group.
I’d really appreciate some help here; I haven't heard any of these groups perform at weddings yet, and I really should probably put down a deposit soon!
Thanks so much!
I don't even know what to make of those last two, honestly. As for Passage, they're alright, I guess. How much are you guys looking for?
ruggedsailor said:Honestly, same. It’s the one thing I haven't figured out yet, and at this point, I'm just over it. 😢 Honestly, I don't even know where to start...
Look, all I've heard about them is good stuff. You can see their reviews on Facebook and everything, but they were already booked up for my preferred dates—so seriously, you better call them ASAP if you want in!!!
Taylor Kelly59 said:I just checked out Andrew's photos and wow, they're incredible. Do you happen to know his rates for a shoot? Also, where's he based?
thanks! 🙂
Andrew is from Des Moines if I remember right, though—funny enough—I just found out he actually can't shoot 🤷 for us after all. We ended up renting a photo studio he works with sometimes, but apparently, he’s already booked for our date, which I had absolutely no clue about!!! 😢 !! Seriously though, his work is incredible; I've seen a few albums from some friends and acquaintances and they're stunning. As for his rates, I have no idea, so honestly, just shoot him a message. Prices change depending on so many different things, so you're better off just calling him directly!
Matthew Brown76 said:Does anyone have any info on Andrew Carter's photography? 🙂
You can find him on Facebook if you really want to, but honestly? To me, Andrew Carter is just the man. 🙂 He’s snapped photos of plenty of people I know, so fingers crossed we get some coverage too!!!
