The danger of mid-season rebuilding in Fans ·
It feels like every time a new manager takes over, the window of opportunity to actually back them up is way too small. If the leadership doesn't act decisively during the summer, the whole project can fall apart before the winter even hits. Do you think most clubs actually give their new bosses a fair shot at success?
Buying a Macbook Pro from overseas in Laptops ·
The whole reason I'm eyeing this specific MBP 2012 - 2013 is because you can basically turn it into a beast for next to nothing by swapping in an SSD and 16GB of RAM. I guess if you look it up on Google, it actually holds its own against those fancy new retina models, even if it lacks the retina display—not that I really care about that, so... 👍

So, I was wondering, if I order this MbP for $1,200, what am I actually going to get hit with for customs and Sales Tax here in the States? Since I assume the Sales Tax is around 25%, which seems high, the total price is probably going to jump quite a bit...

Hey, I'm looking to pick up a new Macbook Pro MD101ll/a

Prices in the US are maybe $667 cheaper than they are here, but the issue is they don't ship to America... I checked prices across Europe too, which are way lower than our local rates (Amazon.com, Amazon.com), but from what I can see, they won't ship to the US either :S
Anyway, my question is: What’s the best way to order a new MacBook from another country? Like, which online shops should I use to keep costs down?

P.S. I looked through some threads about buying stuff online, but I couldn't find a straight answer...
Leg splint/cast on my leg in Health ·
So, I took a nasty fall five days ago and wrecked my ankle. The doctor said it’s a severe sprain with ligament damage, and after some X-rays, he noticed a tiny bone chip or something. They put me in a splint on Monday and told me to come back in three days. At that follow-up, the doc cut the old one off and swapped it for a new one that keeps my foot at a 90-degree angle. Well, they put this new thing on yesterday and it is way too tight around the joint. It’s putting massive pressure right on that protruding bone on the side of my foot. Honestly, it hurts so bad I can barely even get out of bed. I guess it's just unbearable.
My question is: Is it actually smart to just take the splint off and head straight back to the clinic tomorrow to get a different one that doesn't touch the bone? I don't know how I'm supposed to make it to the next scheduled appointment feeling like this...

So, YouTube works fine over HTTPS, but Facebook is being stubborn. I guess you could say it's just not cooperating. Can you explain how I'm supposed to ping that?

Hey there.
I’ve been stuck in the hospital for the last few days, hooked up to their Wi-Fi. I can get onto pretty much any site just fine, except for Facebook and YouTube. I tried switching between Chrome and Internet Explorer, but it's the same deal... so if anyone knows how to fix this, let me know.
Thanks! 🙂
P.S. Please don't tell me to clear my cache or history because that isn't it. It's some kind of general issue, not the browser.
Dealing with nasal polyps in Health ·
Thanks for the reply.
Regarding those drops and chemical stuff, I’m not really a fan. They feel like temporary fixes to me. I wish there was some kind of spray or drop that actually targeted and destroyed polyps over time, but I don't think that exists yet, I guess.
As for surgery, do you have any idea what a private surgeon might charge? My current doctor won't even touch it...
Dealing with nasal polyps in Health ·
Hey, this is my first post here, so sorry if I mess anything up or break a rule by accident. xD
So, basically, I was diagnosed with a polyp in my left nasal passage about six months ago. My specialist told me there’s no need for surgery because it’s small and shouldn't be an issue, but honestly, it bothers me a ton. The problem is my left side is already blocked by the polyp, and while my right side stays clear during the day, everything just shuts down at night. Once I lie down, my right nostril clogs up too, and I can't breathe through my nose at all. It's a miserable feeling, and I can barely sleep. I went back to see the doctor recently hoping for some actual help, but he just brushed me off, saying it's totally normal for nostrils to switch off due to the nasal cycle. He claims it's natural for one side to open and the other to close every few hours... but since my left side is permanently blocked by this polyp, once the cycle hits my right side, I'm completely stuck with both sides closed. This happens every single night, and I usually have to wait until like 4 or 5 in the morning for my right side to finally clear up before I can get any rest. Does anyone have any solutions? 🙂
