I intend to carve out some private time—when I can ensure total anonymity—to perhaps consult with a psychologist. That said, my preference remains firmly rooted in self-reliance; I would much rather resolve this entire issue on my own terms, without the intervention of a therapist or any other third party. If anyone here possesses a method for effective internal dialogue—specifically, how to logically deconstruct my own irrational frustrations regarding circumstances that are both unchangeable and ultimately irrelevant to my life—I am listening.
Some people are just meant to step up and handle things... it's heavy work and often pretty painful, but once you realize you're actually helping someone, it feels amazing. The person you're helping knows, they feel it, and they're incredibly grateful. No matter where I am, that's how I deal with it. It brings me a lot of happiness, truly.
