Can someone give me a translation? I might be an old dog, but I never did learn how to read Cyrillic...😍
Just so we’re clear, I’m actually pretty offended that you all forced me to slog through twenty pages of posts... honestly, what kind of behavior is that? I mean, I’m an adult here—not exactly a spring chicken—and I have better things to do with my time.😍

This one feels a bit too much like something a Canadian would say...😁
rustywalker1 said:I honestly hope all those top-tier refs from the last World Cup just pack up and head home along with their national teams.

Now they’re suddenly the favorites to move on—mostly because their own teams are out, so there’s zero conflict of interest left.

So, you've got the Americans, the Icelanders, and the Poles who can't ref...

And since it feels like the French are the only ones left with available officials, I suspect picking a crew is going to be a real headache...
Charles Williams58 said:And here we go again with the complainers... beat the European champions and suddenly we have "no ideas" in the offense. Personally, I thought the attack was brilliant—why would you stop feeding Bennett when he’s clearly finding his rhythm? No ideas? Sure, there was some chaos toward the end—Kelly admitted that much—but give me a break; try playing at such a high tempo for fifty minutes straight after a schedule like this and then tell me how to be perfect!
The defense was a bit shaky, I'll give you that, but that's why we have Allen. Next time the defense might slip up, and Mike might have an off night... just stop being so negative.
Can we at least spend today focusing on the wins? Leave the criticism to the Americans... maybe ask yourselves why they couldn't get their game together.

Honestly, even the defense was solid. It was nothing but contested half-shots from tight angles, low shots, or wingers trying to squeeze them in...

We just need a little more mobility and we're golden...

Today was real men's basketball. My only worry is how we're going to hold up against, say, the Frenchmen...
frozeneagle49 said:Wait, did he seriously just go off like that right in front of the cameras?

Yeah, and I’d bet my life it happened at least three or four times...

That first outburst seemed aimed straight at the Danish coaching staff—right after the whistle blew—but as for those other "compliments," I honestly couldn't tell who he was actually talking to...
frozentiger6 said:Once again, folks from the South are calling the shots for the rest of us... 😁

Well, looks like Hvidt is going to be our judge and jury this time—just listen to what a seasoned pessimist like me has to say about it. 😁

And besides, Hvidt is basically family at this point... 😉
And yeah, Charles really shouldn't have brought his mother into the conversation with anyone...

They played out of their minds—defense was clinical, maybe even their best showing since the 2004 Olympics.

If they keep playing like this, honestly, they could take down anyone in the bracket...

As for the officiating, it was decent... I mean, there were some pretty boneheaded calls, sure, but overall? Not bad at all...

Looks like he dropped a few pounds in just two days—but what about McA? 😬

If we're talking two days, they basically locked him in a sauna for half an hour right before the game and told him he wasn't coming out until he started playing better...

The sauna miracle is real...😁
Kukruza, where you at?😍

Like they said, "The North American Prince of French handball leads France toward their third straight gold medal."

Do me a favor—for the love of God—change that to "The World King of American handball leads America toward the one gold medal they're still missing."

Because honestly, while the kings are still breathing, princes don't really count for much...
I'm a little lost here...☕
Jesse Morgan3 said:Adam Collins4, give us some actual analysis here—and I mean serious stuff.
I already laid it out—how can you have the exact same coach and the exact same roster, yet see a gap this massive? To me, it’s all about motivation, or maybe just pure spite. There isn't some grand deep philosophy behind it.

Man, I'd love to, but I'm honestly still in shock...

I've crunched all the numbers—I've even factored in the guys from the South and tried accounting for the local rivalries—but nothing adds up. It just doesn't.

The only thing that explains a swing like this is raw, unadulterated motivation.

Like someone once said, you aren't going to learn a whole new system in two days—unless you're a total genius, but that's a whole different conversation...
Melissa Price6 said:I mean, when a ref makes a call that brainless...

Anyway, regarding that two-minute penalty—you don't get a yellow card for unsportsmanlike conduct, which is basically what simulation is...
Anthony Roberts2 said:sure, the Poles are solid, but at the end of the day, players have to actually think like that if they want to win😁

I’ve been keeping an eye on the other matchup too—ISL plays a pretty gritty defense, so this one should be interesting.

From what I can tell, the officiating has been much more aggressive this year compared to previous tournaments. I doubt things will suddenly shift in these last two days—well, I hope not, anyway—but honestly, stricter calls work in our favor if we end up facing the French.😁

And, even though it’s kind of a tangent, I feel like they’re going to give us trouble for another tournament or three. Aside from Karabatic and Abal, most of their core is getting pretty old... so expect a massive drop-off in a year or two.😍

Go look at French statistics regarding progression before you start talking about strict officiating...
frozentiger6 said:Strlek is basically cracking under the pressure

And what did I tell you right before the first game started?

I’m really not a fan of how they’ve started nitpicking his spacing before he even gets a shot off...

Gregory Ramos3 said:Look, look at it this way... they were basically just clearing space for Buntić—and since i Balić was playing alongside him on the LV, and the guy was constantly taped up anyway—it made sense.

Besides, our entire perimeter scored 18 goals, which is pretty damn good if you ask me. 👍

They got absolutely wrecked by those cross-screens... we saw hints of it during the game against Austria, but today was on another level. There were moments where three players would dive into a cross-screen all at once... it’s honestly exhausting to try and follow that kind of movement.
Chris Lopez59 said:we survived 🙂

Let’s be real—between the 10th and 50th minute, our defense was absolute rock solid. We didn't give those Danes an inch without making them work for every single point, and honestly, the offense was smart, efficient, and played with actual purpose. All things considered, it was some high-level handball—easily the best I've seen from our guys during this tournament...

But man, those last 10 minutes? Denmark really started pulling ahead. Our defensive focus just evaporated, though we managed to scrape by somehow. 😉

The main issue was that by the end, we were basically running on fumes. The players were completely spent—just totally exhausted out there...

The goal is secured, sure, but if we had actually handled Iceland, everything would have been a lot smoother. Now, it's all about finding the energy to regroup and seeing if we can actually pull off a medal.

Well, there's still plenty of time to recover—we've got almost a day and a half...

And nobody walked away with any serious injuries, so you can't complain about that...

Playing a 6-0 defense is brutal; it drains you like nothing else. It's hardly surprising they hit a wall at the end...

Honestly, we need to fix the wing play immediately...

Today the shooting from the wings was a pathetic 1-for-6, if I’m remembering right...

If that doesn't change, we're basically invisible out there—against a Frenchman, getting the ball to the wings is going to be an uphill battle, and if these guys keep missing, they're just going to get our striker absolutely dismantled... and frankly, that goalkeeper is bothering me way more than some KGB agent would...

Melissa Price6 said:Honestly, Wilbek doesn't know the first thing about handball... what is he even doing bragging about the American national team's performance when that Member of the European Parliament already pointed out how bad they played?
And apparently, that Member of the European Parliament is an expert on *that*!

So now, Wilbek is out here praising Kopljar...

Either he's just messing with us—which, let's face it, is always a possibility—or maybe all that women's handball has gone to his head...😁

Or he thinks Bukvić is some little girl... which, given the way they play, isn't exactly a stretch...

Though, then there's Anja Andersen...😍
frozentiger6 said:Oh man, just pure chaos, absolute madness 😁

Look, I’d love to claim I actually speak French, but honestly? It’s probably safer if I just keep my mouth shut...😍

Just ridiculous...
