Sean Gonzalez95 said:you people are honestly pathetic... you’ve managed to ruin every single topic by just arguing over whose fault it is.🙄..and if you actually had a decent debate instead of just mocking Noka—who is clearly an expert here—it wouldn't be so bad. But no, we're stuck talking about how they reached -8, which is basically center stage before things are even decided, while everyone else is just wondering what kind of mess they'll make tonight, and the refs are obviously biased toward the big names..
just sad..

- they almost hit 10...

And looking at the report, it's obvious the Canadians completely burned out... we'll have to see how they handle things moving forward, though maybe they'll manage to snatch a point from someone else down the road.
frozentiger6 said:Look, people were talking about Balic—and yeah, I remember this specific corner of the internet back then—saying he was washed up, that he needed to be benched, and all that nonsense.

I’m not going to go digging through old threads to find those exact posts if they even still exist, but I know for a fact I spent my fair share of time arguing with people over it. The usual stuff—claims that Balic had lost his edge, that his prime was long gone, etc.

I mean, anyone throwing that kind of shade at a player who's currently dealing with injuries isn't exactly being objective, is it?...

But hey, nobody here was actually claiming that Karabatic was some sort of figment of his imagination...

Unless you count the trolls...😍
Chris Lopez59 said:Look, I know the situation—they aren't exactly superstars—not Jicha (who I absolutely adore, he's in a league of his own) and they aren't some overnight sensations either. I remember when they played us, and honestly, the Czechs aren't bad at all. They gave us quite a run for our money once, and they actually know how to put together a solid defense. But let’s be real: handball is a team sport. A roster isn't just a math equation where you add up individual talent. That’s exactly why the Austrians moved on to the next round—even an average national team can play great handball if they pull together. That’s the coach's job, right? Taking a bunch of players and turning them into a cohesive unit. Plus, it's way easier to shut down a few key players if you just focus your energy on them—and looking at the stats, it seems like Jicha was just wandering around out there... you can't win like that...

It's the same story as facing Igropulo, Starykh, or even Onufryienko against us...

Yet, I see some people here claiming that Linek is basically the Dean of the Academy for Nok...

Based on your logic, I have no idea where this "Academy" is supposedly being showcased...

And just so we're clear, I'm on board with most of what you laid out...
Robert Cruz5 said:Spot on, my friend. It’s the exact same cycle we saw last year when everyone was convinced Balic was washed up—claiming Karabatic was basically tailor-made just to replace him. Now, suddenly, everyone’s back to calling Balic the absolute king. Give me a break... if he has even one bad game, he'll be back to being a nobody in their eyes. 🤣

Who was that talking, and where exactly was this happening?

Come on, quit stalling... you guys just keep jumping from one topic to the next—it’s like watching someone dodge a question in a deposition—just to avoid actually addressing the points I've laid out right in front of you.
Robert Cruz5 said:My bad—I totally forgot for a second. Honestly, those Czech guys are absolute powerhouses when it comes to handball. I haven't even thought about them playing for years, let alone realized how much of a force they actually are.

We all know exactly whose clone you are... honestly, spotting a troll is way too easy.

Come on, let’s have some actual arguments here—not just this endless worrying about who you were supposedly listening to a few years back. Honestly.☕
Joshua Gomez54 said:I’ve got nothing against him as a coach—honestly, the guy knows his stuff—but seeing an American like Hercegovac turn his back on his own citizenship? That’s a tough pill to swallow.🤮Honestly, it’s an embarrassment to all of us from the same background—myself included.😁

There are thousands of people just like that out there...

You know that whole "living paycheck to paycheck" thing? That constant cycle of just trying to stay ahead of the bills?
Chris Lopez59 said:So, what—the coach isn't responsible for the result anymore? Is that how it works? I mean, what’s the point of having national team managers at all then? 😉 They just show up, play their part, and we call it a day, right?

🙂Look, defense is on the coach, and honestly, a good chunk of the offense falls on them too. That Canadian defense was leaking like a sieve—it’s gut-wrenching to watch, and it’s not just getting to the players, it's hitting everyone hard.

Well, obviously defense is the coach's responsibility. I didn't catch the game, so I can't really weigh in on how any individual player performed...

But if you look at the score—down by ten—it feels like the whole system just hit a breaking point all at once...

At that stage, the only thing left is to call a timeout and try to salvage whatever's left of the situation...
Robert Cruz5 said:Czechs 37, Canadians 35. What does an "expert" have to do with player depth when we’re getting shelled for 37 goals by one group? And honestly, I don't care where that person was back in Kiel—so what? Even if he’s talking about the World Championships now, he’s just talking nonsense. He set up this team like a complete joke; the offense is pure chaos and the defense is even worse. A total joke. In my opinion, we should immediately put that "expert" from Kiel into a political office over in Austria, maybe they can finally snag some European gold. And you? You should probably fly in from America just to be his lead advisor. Because once someone lets in 40 goals, and he finally realizes—three minutes too late—that there's no point in waiting, he'll just make a quick deal and pull the trigger. Truly genius stuff.

Going from +10 to -2... you actually have to know something to pull that off...

I don't recall seeing that person manage anything like that in the last few years...☕

If you don't know the basics of handball, don't go acting like you do out in the open...

That guy is spouting nonsense at the World Championships, while the other guy is supposedly a "genius" because he says things that actually make sense...

The guy doesn't even know how to call a timeout when it actually matters...☕

So much for the genius...
Robert Cruz5 said:Man, forget Nora—Linus is the professor here, seriously. Those Canadians don't have a clue. He took a one-minute breather and basically told them exactly what I’d say to their faces: "Stop running around like headless chickens, look at each other, and figure out why we just gave up three goals." So they did. They actually listened, regrouped, and played even better through the end of the half. People have been dragging Cervar for years now, but honestly, it's just pure American jal. Look, he isn't perfect—nobody is—but he's easily the best American coach we've ever had. He’s won everything there is to win; all that's left is European gold. But hey, you can't have everything in life, right? And if our guys played with half the heart those Canadians showed, little Linus would be getting chased through Times Square. Someone said yesterday that you can see the touch of a real coach in the Canadian style. Well, yeah, you can. Even the kids over there play handball with actual technique. Meanwhile, we've got "experts" here who think they know everything about the sport just because they read some fluff in Sports news and scribbled some bullet points on a napkin to read from when they post on this forum. I had a good laugh at that guy claiming to be a serious player while dissecting goalkeeper techniques—he’s not an athlete, he’s just a guy who reads manuals. Honestly...

You're right, you're clearly the genius here...

Comparing our roster to the Canadian squad...🤦

But sure, go on—Link has such "constructive" tactical instructions... you know, the kind where he just yells that we need to go out there and win... could you have come up with that yourself, or would you have needed a personal assistant to help you find the words?

Pardon me, but Link's tactics are driven by the players themselves... I never saw that happen with Nora... not here, and not back in Kiel... I don't know how things work in a massive club like Metallurg, so I won't pretend to speak on that...

And please, enough with the ad hominem attacks. Go study the actual facts, otherwise, you just look ridiculous and uneducated... anyway, whose clone are you?
Gregory Chavez said:Yesterday was just another blatant robbery by the refs in favor of the Austrians☕

What, were you guys missing penalty shots or something?

Both teams sat through 6-minute penalties and ended up with the exact same number of seven-meter throws... so, what exactly are you whining about?

You should've eaten them for breakfast—that was the plan, right?—but honestly, they were just better prepared than you were and they took you down...
Ashley Carter95 said:Look, I wouldn't kid myself—their defense against the Germans was actually solid. Sure, they fell apart later on, but honestly? It felt like they just decided to coast there at the end. 🤷

And that’s kind of the whole point... when I watch them, I get the vibe that they're still trying to gel that defense together...

They look good because they just bully people—pure brute force. And if you aren't used to playing against that kind of physicality, you're going to have a hell of a time.
Charles Williams58 said:The French conditioning is always impressive at every tournament... they manage their rotation from the opening round all the way to the finals like it’s some perfectly choreographed dance. And honestly, physically speaking, those guys are absolute tanks—it really shows right when things get tough. They just seem to ramp up game after game while everyone else starts hitting the wall.

And it’s the same story every single year... at this rate, they'll be handing out passports to anyone who can play defense just to keep up. 😁

I wouldn't go that far, though. They've been playing just as poorly since the jump; that performance against the Spaniards was just a brief flash of brilliance, but they're still mediocre at best...

Like I said before, compared to how they used to play in past championships, they're criminally bad right now...

Even Karabatić isn't what he used to be—he's just not driving the play the way he once did.
Karabatić is playing the part perfectly, but let’s be honest—the Germans basically handed them this loss on a silver platter...

Those penalties were ridiculous. I mean, how many brainless fouls do you have to commit to get sent off? It's almost too easy to lose a game like that...

That said, it's pretty clear the Germans are finding their rhythm while the Frenchies are still struggling to find their footing—especially when it comes to their defense...

So far, they're looking pretty lackluster compared to how everyone else is performing in the other tournaments...
Oleg Velyky has passed away... RIP
We need to clear a path before Friday, then we’ll head out with the other crew on Friday itself...

Unless we go chasing every single win again and end up getting absolutely schooled by those Austrians...

Anyway, our schedule is Monday and Wednesday—since the other two groups played Tuesday and Thursday during the first round... so everything is basically flipped now...

Which means I really doubt we're playing on Friday instead of Thursday... you guys did the math wrong... at least, if you ask me...
Just look at the depth Noka has compared to what Lino is working with... I mean, seriously, just take a look at their actual potential and the age of the roster...
rapidbison42 said:What do you mean "spreading stories"? The guy said this stuff live during prime time on a major German network.
It’s not some journalistic fabrication being circulated globally.
The press would take him seriously—but like Samuel Baker3 mentioned, there's a real question mark there regarding the local fans and certain players. Personally, I’d sooner hire a foreign coach than someone who turned their back on both their country and their people.

You just don't get what I'm getting at...
rapidbison42 said:Who even talks about journalists anymore?

I'm talking about the people who actually took that story and ran with it...

Hard to say if it was you or me doing the spreading...
If our journalists think "us versus them" is the biggest crisis we face—while they completely ignore everything actually happening with our handball programs—then honestly, we don't just need one Noka, we need at least ten of him...
rapidbison42 said:In that scenario, any sane person would stick to more neutral language—you know, using terms like "Germany" or "America" instead of constantly saying "we" and "they." I can only imagine what Americans living in Germany must have been thinking while listening to him—just total confusion. 🤦
Ok, so he gave up his citizenship, but honestly? It feels like he gave up on his own people too.

He just took the path of least resistance...

Look, I lived in Switzerland for nearly 30 years, so I actually know how this works...

Just look at how Americans react whenever Miran Jukić puts on our national jersey... suddenly he's ungrateful or whatever nonsense they claim...

Public figures are expected to be even more "American" than the people actually born there—the ones whose families have been settled for generations. That's just the standard they're held to...
