To kill or not to kill? in Philosophy ·
Patrick Wright2 said:The way this thread was set up is honestly kind of ridiculous.
It basically boils down to the fact that the only thing stopping us from just going out there and swinging on people is the fear of getting busted by the cops and the legal system...☕

I have to agree with that.

Regarding the OP... I don't think I could ever actually kill anyone, mostly because as a rational human being, I just don't see how murder provides any kind of solution or relief to anything, but at the same time, I feel like I could pull a trigger without hesitation if I had to. It's that raw, animalistic instinct buried deep inside us, 😉 but since we also possess logic and complex emotions, I just don't find any purpose in taking a life. 🤷
Does your brain have a gender? in Psychology & Therapy ·
Your Brain is 33% Female, 67% Male 😲
It looks like you’ve got a purely masculine brain structure
Being analytical and thorough, you usually prefer sticking to the cold, hard facts
And even though your emotions might pull at you every once in a while...
You generally try to keep your feelings from clouding your judgment too much

Though, wouldn't it be pretty great if things actually worked out that way? 😁

So, I think you might just be getting a little lazy here 😛 😁

..or maybe those highlighters you use to mark the 'important' stuff in your textbook aren't quite the right shade 😛 in other words, you should probably take a closer look at your actual study techniques 😉

I honestly don't even know how old you are, whether you actually enjoy the major you chose, what year of college you're in, or if you're still entirely dependent on your parents for financial support... there are just so many variables that could explain why you feel this overwhelming sense of shame regarding your "failures" when you're around the people you love. Do they truly view you as a burden, or is that just the voice in your head talking?

But look, regardless of what those answers might be, the reality is that this is ultimately about you. Until you can find some peace within yourself, you're always going to project that insecurity onto everyone else around you. I'm telling you, once you get your priorities straight and find your footing, that feeling of being "not enough" will start to fade. 😉

...and trust me, I wouldn't be sharing this if I hadn't been in your exact shoes, feeling like a total weight on everyone else's shoulders myself. 😁 😉

Is it normal to feel this intense, soul-crushing shame in front of everyone just because I didn't pass some college exam... to the point where I’m actively dodging people on campus just so they don't corner me to ask how school is going? 😢
Does anyone actually know what to say when you get hit with those incredibly stupid, repetitive, mind-numbing questions like: "So, how's it going? Did you pass that test? How was your midterm?"

Success is such a subjective thing, isn't it? What truly matters is that you define what success means to you personally. There is absolutely no point in comparing your journey to someone else's because everyone is walking their own path, wearing their own worn-out shoes that brought them to where they are today... and that includes you too. Your foot fits your own shoe perfectly, doesn't it?😉

As for exams and college... you're the one who gets to set your own priorities. If that's what you want, you'll pass your tests, get that degree, and move forward... 🙂 ...it all comes down to your own personal choices. Once you are at peace with yourself, you'll find that what others think is the least important thing in the world.😉
