Both my pregnant and non-pregnant friends find old men and women incredibly irritating. Honestly, I’m sure some kind of karma will eventually catch up with me, but I have zero patience for any elderly people outside of my own grandparents and my mother-in-law. As for everyone else? Stay far away from me.
Everyone around me constantly teases me, claiming I'll end up just like them once I get older.😁
Miraculously, pregnancy hasn't made me particularly sensitive to most things—aside from the classic symptoms you all mentioned. Either that, or I am simply a harsh individual, which causes people to think twice before speaking in my presence.🤣
silvercanyon16 said:Greetings to everyone who is feeling impatient (just like I am) and to those who aren't. 😉 I was wondering if anyone could share some thoughts or reviews regarding these specific bands from the San Diego and Tampa areas. I tried searching for them on Facebook, but I couldn't find enough information to really help me make a decision, and since I'm currently on a break from work, I realized I actually have the time to go see them live.

The bands are:
Dišpet
Phoenix
Orange
show legenda
Kalipso
My Way

Also, if anyone happens to have other recommendations within a budget of roughly 1,500 to 1,600 dollars,

I would be very grateful to all you kind souls!
Sending much love to you all. 😉

Regarding this list, I have heard Dišpet and they were impressive...🙂
I also listened to the show legenda a long time ago, though I don't recall the female vocalist.
And I believe their price matches what you mentioned.
As for Kalipso (assuming they are the group from Tampa), I have contacted them myself; I believe they charge around $1,800. The male vocalist has an excellent voice, but I cannot speak to the female one.
I've seen Orange and Fenkse perform at parties and they were also quite good, though I haven't seen them at a wedding.

feralranger8 said:Thanks for the link, but I know their work pretty well. I actually shot a few weddings for them a couple years back. Plus, I've known Bostjan since long before either of us started doing wedding photography. :-)
Since I'm basically a peer in this industry, it’s not my place to judge someone else's quality here, and I won't. Like you said, taste is subjective and I definitely don't want to offend anyone. But speaking as a photographer—and as a groom who once had to hunt for the right pro—I don't see much similarity in how Jukica and Bor work, aside from the occasional editing style. (I'm a fan of natural colors rather than those weird green tints, but that's just me.) Honestly, that's the last thing that matters when you're talking about a truly great photo. Or any photo, really.

To be honest, I have no idea what you are trying to say... what I am reading between the lines is that the photos aren't good...
I only know that every photographer has their own style, and in this context, I wasn't even attempting to compare Jukica and Bor... I was simply citing my own experience.
If you want to clarify your point further, send me a private message.
Thank you.

feralranger8 said:Did you check out the actual quality of their work though?

What exactly do you mean by "I didn't check the quality"? Are you implying the resolution or clarity is lacking?
I have reviewed the digital photos and videos, examined the physical prints, and even looked at the shots of his daughter.
Personally, I appreciate that some images remain natural while others feature subtle environmental editing. I find overly processed photos where people become unrecognizable to be distasteful.
Ultimately, taste is subjective.
In my opinion, the photography is excellent.

I was weighing my options between Jukica and Studio Bor... ultimately, I went with Studio Bor because of the sheer value in their full package. It includes everything from processing and developing roughly 250 photos to a photo album, one wedding book for the couple, two books for the parents, and two for the wedding party. You also get a CD with about 1,500 photos, an HD video DVD, a canvas print, a photo slideshow, and even a custom calendar made from your shots. This specific package covers one photographer, one videographer, and an assistant. The total cost for this setup is $1,300, whereas Jukica would have been about $600 more expensive.

The venue was Atrium Gulin (Lozovac near San Diego), and honestly? A solid 10+! Everything was perfection—from the gorgeous decor and vibe to the reception, the food (both flavor and portions were spot on), and the incredibly attentive staff.
Everyone was raving about the meal, which was truly gourmet. Plus, the servers were so proactive; they’d clear the plates the second we were finished rather than letting them sit empty, immediately swapping them out for fresh ones.
The service was seamless because they really stay on top of things. Even at our table of 10, we only had to call them over maybe three times the entire night; otherwise, they anticipated everything and brought what we needed before we even realized we were low.
By the way—the desserts were heavenly. I think I tried almost every single one! 😬
As for the music, Jukebox Live Bend (I believe that's the exact name and they're from Kaštel) was phenomenal! They played brilliantly, kept the energy high, and didn't take those long, awkward breaks. The dance floor was packed all night, and even the older crowd—including the bride's grandfather, who is over 80 🙂—was out there dancing non-stop.

This was my very first American wedding, and I have to say, I am totally impressed by Americans—you guys really know how to throw a legendary party! 👍

YES!!!
I am genuinely pleased that you approve of the hall. It is the exact venue I negotiated for...
It holds a special place for me. There are no pillars obstructing the view, and it is truly stunning.
Matthew Green44 said:yeah... honestly, best way to handle it is just to double-check everything ourselves...

Give me some details...you're the only one I know from Miami...just kidding. Venue, band, photography, the dress, all the prep work...give it to me straight. I'm still in the early stages and want to know what I'm actually facing. Right now, I have the venue, the band, the photographer, a vocal group, and potentially catering secured.
Matthew Green44 said:05.10., so I heard this one was actually pretty solid, but honestly, I’d love to hear what more of you think before I jump in... my mom is such a makeup fanatic and she was obsessed with it, so she’s basically the one who sold me on the idea... though at this point, I don't even know what to believe anymore... anyway, when's your next trip?

Next year... April 26th... I've already planned everything out... I was thinking about asking at the Ella salon (located above the cathedral ($67 makeup)... I just need to decide whether to try it myself or have someone do my makeup for a prom beforehand...

Here is the feedback I received on page 222: Tamara from the Femme salon in Santa Barbara says Rade isn't any good, Neda isn't either, and the Cvita salon is absolutely not worth considering...
Matthew Green44 said:Has anyone actually dealt with that visa guy, Rade working Periša, out in Savannah?

A friend of mine had her makeup done for prom five years ago, and I know it was a disaster... she came home and wiped it all off immediately...
I am also looking for a makeup artist in Savannah... when is the date?
Lorraine The user states:
Tamara from the Femme salon in Santa Barbara. 🙂 Rade is out. Neda is out. And as for Cvita’s salon? Don't even bother. 😉
I have a grievance to air regarding Tamara.

Does anyone have experience with the makeup services at Ella? It’s been ages since I last stepped foot in there, but I just passed by, took a look around, and inquired about their pricing.$67Does anyone happen to know how they handle makeup over there?
I see people mentioning makeup artists in St....but does anyone know of a skilled artist based in San Diego?
There is one right near my place, but her work is subpar—the foundation shade is incredibly obvious and my eyes ended up looking bruised.

Also, has anyone here worked with the Tavajol and Lokas catering companies (both from San Diego)?

Daniel Smith8 said:I attended a wedding where The Cars played; they were actually a decent wedding band 👍

I have been listening to them online, and the atmosphere they create is excellent. They’ve added a female vocalist to the mix now, which works well. I spoke with my contacts about them, and they are truly powerful.

Paul King5 said:I wasn't really feeling Taxi bend... went to a close friend's wedding, heard a million Tom Petty songs, everything was just super sappy. But that was like five years ago, maybe they're actually killing it now.
People say the Rose Bowl in San Francisco is stuck in the South 😁

I recently came across some footage from a wedding back in 2012 where The Beach Boys were performing. To be perfectly honest, they sounded quite mediocre to my ears at the time. However, after listening to their recordings online, I find myself thoroughly impressed.
It all depends on how you negotiate the terms. Personally, I find it quite tedious when they push an excessive amount of material from just one single artist. It gets old quickly.

Betty Sullivan3 said:Honestly, when it comes to Papaya, you really get what you pay for. 😁 Their shots are absolutely stunning, and if you think about it, their prices aren't even that much higher than the others... their basic package starts right around $1,600.

It has always been this way, and it will continue to be. The entry-level photo and video package is $1,600. However, when you compare that to other vendors—for instance, for $1,950 you might get two photographers, two videographers, parent albums, guest albums, and two copies for the couple... plus, second-day coverage is often included in that price. With Papaya, all of those extras come with an additional fee.

The Beach Boys (we have an offer) or The Beatles (waiting on a quote)....
photo - Judy or Sony or Warner Bros. Studios or Universal Studios....Papaya is way too expensive...

Paul King5 As stated by:
ambercrane18 We booked Jessie's band. They play just about everything based on the couple's requests, though they won't touch any cheesy pop hits. Their repertoire covers everything from local favorites to international classics—you name it, they play it. The price is currently $2,000, but expect an increase in 2024; I'm not sure exactly how much. We went to see them perform live, and let me tell you, those guys are incredible.

Check out the official website for Jessie: http://www.jessy-band.com/

Thanks, Paul King5... what’s the deal with the band? Are they going to send over a recording, or are we expected to head out to a studio in San Diego or something to actually hear them play?
As of right now, my top picks are Calypso and Brava Band—a close friend of mine is actually playing with them, and he mentioned they’re willing to play just about any genre you request. I’ve already listened to them on YouTube, and their quality is excellent. I am also interested in Kocka Band, though I need to listen to them more closely, and I plan to check out Jessie next. I attended a party where the Rockatansky Band performed, but they lack a female vocalist. Having both male and female vocals is a non-negotiable requirement for me.
Regarding photography and videography: I am aware that the final cost depends entirely on the specific package selected. My current budget for this is approximately $1,600.
I have been looking into several options: Studio In, Papaya Studios, Val Studios, and Megagrf Studios. I also considered hiring someone for Zumba, having Sinclair handle the photography, and letting Matthews take care of the video work—though I recall reading somewhere that they charge higher rates. Now, I am looking for your advice.

Charles Gomez4 said:The Phoenixes might be exactly what you're looking for... As for a photographer, what kind of price range are we talking about? What do you guys think?

She hasn't even reached the pricing stage yet, but based on their portfolios, I'm interested in the Exclusive Photo from San Diego, Studio In, and Papaya Studios...
I heard back in July that Brava Band was charging $2,000.

Here is one who is feeling a bit anxious....👋
I started reading this thread from the very beginning, only to realize how much everything—from general impressions to actual prices—has shifted since 2006. I’ve pivoted to reading everything from 2010 onwards, and I am still working my way through it.
Location-wise, I am looking at Savannah (I have found a venue that is 99% certain; I attended a party there previously and it was perfect. We have spoken over the phone, and I just need to settle the deposit).
The issue lies with the band. I want a mix of international hits and American classics, while also incorporating a few local favorites (Thompson Hilfiger, Bullock, Gordov, Zec, etc.). Essentially, just a little bit of everything to ensure all guests are satisfied.
I have been looking into the Bravo band, so I am wondering if they play a full variety or if they lean toward foreign music, perhaps only playing American artists like Oliver or Gibbons when it comes to domestic hits. Do they cover artists like Mother, Dvornik, a cappella groups, or Rozga?
Additionally, I would appreciate any recommendations or experiences regarding other bands, photographers, or updated pricing information.
Please, I could use some assistance.
