I actually have a Godiva truffle sitting right here on my desk, and I’ve been circling it like a hungry cat. (You know how it is—just pacing back and forth, totally losing it...)

And now you go and hit me with this?? Now the truffle is gone...

We talking white, milk, dark, or the ones stuffed with hazelnuts???

Honestly, they’re being total jerks—I mean it! They just sit there holding the line while dreaming about some gourmet meal...?? It’s gotta be messing with their heads.

The pot's full if anyone wants a cup. :klap:

If I may be so bold—and I'm just wondering why you're acting so high and mighty lately? Do you honestly think that little snack is going to satisfy a big appetite like yours? Good luck with that.

I mean, wouldn't any of the other ladies here recognize themselves in that, too?

Carol Price4 said:Jessica Grant56, you know I'm just built a little differently—my left side is definitely my dominant side! 😁

Well, that’s one way to look at it! To me, that right-side orientation looks a little too much like a certain anatomical curve—specifically a woman's silhouette. Not that I'm implying anything scandalous...

Wait, what if those aren't even improper cups?? I mean, it's probably not a huge sin, but doing that out in public?

Brenda Chase3 said:Thanks, colleague, I certainly plan to. Same here. I just need a little breather to stretch my back and let my brain go on standby for a moment. 😉
As for my folks, I'll tell them that per the new regulations effective November 1st, this is exactly how coffee is supposed to look now. Haha, there's always some new rule being passed, so nobody would ever suspect we’re just being lazy. At least we'll have something to laugh about every day. 🤣

When it comes to the state of our country, I actually have a visual for how this all works, but I'm too nice to post it. (Just a few circular motions and it looks exactly like a...) A simple registration for one small van is somehow creeping up toward $1.25!! And get this:

- No room left on the old registration? You'll need a new piece of paper costing about $30.

- Then you have to head down to the Department of Justice to get a stamp on the new registration (honestly... I just love their bureaucracy!!!!!!!) But wait!!! For that whole stamping, sealing, marking, or whatever you want to call it process—which takes maybe four seconds—you have to pay an EXTRA $12 fee. So, basically, I'm paying the government in coffee with a few circles in the middle that look a lot like...

Here's some coffee—running a little behind schedule, since it’s already past noon 😵

I honestly don't get it—if that's supposed to be a cup for today, how on earth do you even manage to drink anything out of it?

Shout out to all the night owls and early birds out there! ☕

Late greetings from a fellow night owl... honestly, the sun is already coming up, and here I am still wrestling with Sinesov's bookkeeping and trying to reconcile some advances... especially when you accidentally set a wrong parameter or two!

I'm down for coffee, but let's wait until noon.

Carol Price4 said:I'm with you—I'm a total caffeine addict myself... wouldn't mind a cup even at midnight.😁

Oh man, I honestly thought he wrote "bloodsucker" instead of "coffee lover"—my brain just totally skipped a beat there. Still, I guess I’ll have to reach out and ask him if there's any truth to what he's saying, or if I just completely misread the situation.

P.S. This thread is actually pretty great—you can even poke a little fun at the moderator without getting in any trouble!

Hey there, ladies. Just dropping in to say hi to the majority here.

So, I’ve got a question for you—though I’m honestly doubting anyone actually has the answer: My secondary occupation permit lists one specific business activity... but then my IRS paperwork says something completely different. It doesn't match up at all. So, who actually holds the power here? Who am I supposed to be worried about getting flagged by? Is it the Department of Labor or the Treasury? I’m feeling a bit too tired to deal with them right now—especially since they never seem to reply to emails anyway. Which leads to my next thought: are these agencies actually required to send a formal response to an inquiry? And does anyone happen to have a physical mailing address for them?

If none of you know, well, you're probably too young to care, and honestly, that's probably for the best. Once you hit that stage where you realize you need to pick up some side work just to cover the utility bills—and those quotes are only because "retirement" barely covers the basics—and you start wading through this permit nonsense, let me know how it goes.

I spent all day yesterday tearing apart the Synesis cash register—honestly, even I was shocked when it actually started working again after everything I did to it...

And just so nobody misinterprets me, if anyone asks what the difference is between a wife and a mosquito (the female kind), I really wouldn't know. Please don't tell her I said that, though. My blood pressure is already low enough as it is...

So, I did some digging...

Product Description

A 6 cm crystal ball featuring a lacquered wood base. Comes in a cardboard box. An excellent tool for divination through spiritual perception of light. Since everyone possesses some degree of clairvoyance, this kit works for beginners and pros alike. The crystal gathers ambient light, shadows, and reflections due to its clarity. This crystal ball displays images within the subconscious. Standard quality crystal glass contains at least 26% lead, while 28% lead content classifies it as high quality. Net weight 320g, packaged at 685g. Height including base is 10 cm.

...and once again, back to Google!!!! 😵😵

I need to figure out what on earth "images within the subconscious" actually means.
(Honestly, this is getting harder than tax accounting!! 🤦)

Good grief, did they go crazy or something?!?

Richard Howard55 said:Way to go, Jessica Grant56! Enlighten me, won't you? 🙏

I guess I just assumed... owls... were birds. 🙂

As for these... bats... first I've heard of them. Maybe I'll go Google it...! :😍: :😍:

Honestly, dear, I started picking up some weird slang myself—my grandkids (they're 2 and 3) totally corrupted my vocabulary. They'll be running around saying "monsters" are biting them here and there, or how bats are flying through the sky, and lately even those "batty" things... so, you'll just have to figure it out on your own!

I really need to ask Carol Price4 how she deals with having to learn a whole new dictionary!

Richard Howard55 said:I dealt with a similar situation last year—before those new IRS compliance forms were even a thing, so there wasn't much to worry about then. I sent a memo to my caseworker, but he just kept moving forward regardless.
Everything seemed to go smoothly enough, since I didn't run into any issues filing the employee ID cards.
Anyway, I’m just sharing a similar experience, because you’ve clearly already sorted everything out yourself! 😁

Time for coffee!!! (Maybe Jessica Grant56 will pop up; she’s a bit of a night owl too)

It’s not just birds flying around at night, though—you’ve got owls and bats out there, too.

Claire, just grab a straw and start practicing your breathing exercises... Don't worry, we’ll all be doing the same thing pretty soon.

The only thing keeping me sane right now is my two-month long, totally pointless marathon through this bureaucratic nightmare—it honestly feels like an even bigger circus over here than anywhere else, just pure chaos!! I guess we should be thankful for one thing: since everything is technically "unregulated land," nobody really cares, but the endless nonsense being served up by Auntie Darkness and those other pundits on TV goes down smoother than black tea with no sugar, a splash of milk, and maybe two peppercorns.

But seriously, let me tell you about the latest ridiculous stunt!! They were basically like, "Oh, you want a water connection? Sure, just sign this contract first and then we'll get to it." And fine, I wanted it all in writing. But then I actually took a second to read the fine print: apparently, I'm expected to foot the bill for installing 180 meters of pipe, 110mm in diameter...?????? And they had the nerve to include trench backfilling too. For heaven's sake, I swear, if Duke or even Diocletian himself were around, they'd have laid into them... are these people actually sane?!?!? And my biggest mistake—I actually agreed to pay them a massive chunk of change for the legalization permits. What an absolute idiot I am—no electricity, no running water, and no accountant to help me manage the mess. Lord help me. They're going to kill Absurdistania.
Virtual Coffee Break - Chat in Business, Accounting & Taxes ·
Carol Price4 said:Man, I don't know how you survived that mess...😁

Honestly, I feel like I’ve been caught in this endless loop—it’s been nearly four years now and it just won't let go. Every once in a while, I find myself shouting, "What doesn't kill you makes you stronger!" But man, this thing just keeps spinning me around, dragging me along, and making all this noise, and I just take it. If I'm being real, though, the hardest part isn't even that—it's dealing with this country. It's those self-important ministers (I won't even get started on the lower-level ones) and all these ridiculous little "solutions" they come up with just to supposedly "make our lives easier."

What kind of crazy... times have we found ourselves in?!? Or maybe we just let them happen? All we’re missing now are flying broomsticks ridden by hot witches—though honestly, they aren't even what they used to be—along with some midnight light shows and the sound of people hauling crates, anchors, and heavy armor clanking all over San Francisco. Everyone felt that tension in their bones, and once things really started blowing up in the outskirts, even your basement didn't feel safe anymore. And good luck finding anything decent to eat amidst all this new junk growing everywhere...

ruggedcyclist74 said:ruggedcyclist74, so where exactly are you heading for vacation?
I’m assuming you’ll finally be getting away once the season wraps up? 🙂

And what even is "vacation" anyway?!? Honestly, I feel like I’ve been on vacation for ages—the government hands me just enough pennies to scrape by for bread and water, and since I’m used to more, I just make my own way. Of course, the state takes more than half the pie... which I get, really. You guys were all making such a fuss over twenty or thirty luxury SUVs, and now suddenly they're buying ten fighter jets. Because we let them. We fell asleep at the wheel. We have an army of unemployed people, yet if they gave everyone a dragon to fly, some kid would probably fly right over our heads...

Our beautiful country reminds me of that poor donkey they tried to starve—it ended up dying because they wouldn't let it eat. Unlike that mag, our lovely government is teaching millions of us how to go hungry (even though we can afford to eat), and they do it just by taking more and more from us. It’s a shame our President isn't named super Hik (for those who remember him from Alan Ford)—he was like a true modern American, taking from the poor to give to the rich. They were quite the crew back then, but here we are with our "number one," plenty of "hello Bing" nonsense, and don't even get me started on the Bob rocks.

If "vacation" means getting all four cylinders firing properly and just cruising through the clouds and seagulls, then unfortunately, I’m out of luck. My job is such that I can't even sneak away for three or four days. When I finally do manage it, I try to scrape together seven days, grit my teeth, and head to some warm water to soak my joints and everything else... but by the fifth day, I'm already over it, and I'm just counting down the hours until the sixth day when I can finally bolt. Work is a sickness. Forget work; living is the goal.
